What's the point of the players tab?

Absolutely no point at all. I'm not really sure why its there either, Ryan hasn't answered me.

so is this game similar to day trading?

Barely, this is way more exciting.

Now you have a great competitor for the faucet runners Tongue
Every hour vs every minute Roll Eyes

Well, we've never been overly competitive in the faucet department. But we do have a killer house edge  Cool

House edge vs a slightly better but still tiny faucet :p

Agree with you, 2 bits(200 sats per hour) is a low faucet for such a great site.

Faucet had nothing to do with how "great" a site is and it is meant for tryout not to make someone rich overnight with it. Some top sites dont even give you faucet to try on their site but instead they give you free credit for it. Anyway you lost a very valid point on how great faucet in this site is , the faucet is stackable and you can claim them each hour

It's similar. Imagine it like a pump and dump scheme Tongue  Some people call it an altcoin simulator

What's the point of the players tab?

It's for users on mobile. The users on the mobile can't see the player list, because the side bar disappears (try make your browser smaller to try), so they can access it via that tab. I'll today have the tab removed if you're on a screen big enough to support the "players on the side".

Sorry about the confusion!

You can type !help to get a link to shiba's tutorial:

Quote
9:44 Ryan: !help
9:44 Shiba: very explanation. much insight: github.com/moneypot/shiba/wiki

But the commands I use:

!cv   :: Convert from one currency/unit to another
!block :: Ask when the last bitcoin block was mined, and get notified when the next block does get mined
!median :: Get the median game crash over a certain amount of games
!bust :: Provide a condition to find when the last game matched that
!streak :: Find out information on the biggest streak to date matching that condition

kungfuant is a machine though, I wouldn't be suprised to see that there's more I don't know about or he adds more in the future  Grin

so what that its stackable? you have to claim about 5 hours in a row to get an amount you can get on others sites, and faucet does mean a lot about the site, its better when its bigger, and you cant really try it out properly with just 2 bits

I like the fact that the faucet is small so we don't get people like you who only seem to care about the faucet. The faucet is to try the game out, which you can do with 2 bits. I wouldnt mind an increase to 5 because that sounds like a reasonable amount. This is all up to Ryan and I don't see an immediate reason to increase the faucet payout at the moment. As of right now the faucet costs him around 1500 a day, that would go up quite a bit more if a faucet increase was to happen because of more people starting to claim because of the increase and the increased faucet.

I do think that this is not something argueable because I has stated that faucet doesnt mean to make someone rich. You can always try it out even if the faucet is 2 bits / hour and it is just a matter of different perspective for that. I am not a faucet licker therefore I dont really care about the faucet but perhaps someone could have a different opinion on this

For the bolded part, I dont actually see a benefit of it being bigger because it will only attract more freeloader and faucet abuser to the site. If you want to try out a site properly, simply deposit 0.001 BTC to it. It is not a big amount and you can use it to properly "test" the site. Support the site if you want it to live, not leech from its faucet

P.S : If you love to have some faucet, moneypot offer 2 bits each 5 minutes and it is stackable  Wink ( beware , ryan dislike faucet abuser though )

Ryan doesnt really care about faucet abusers tho. Its too small for it to effect him in any substantial way. He knows that even with the current fauce there are people who "abuse" it and he could not care less.

The faucet is really just a nice side thing if you need something for the site.

This site isn't really about the faucet. Also the other faucets usually have a ton of ads.

Also 2 bits isn't really bad. If you have 2.5 or 3 bits per hour you'd have a mediocre rate.

Also unlike other sites Ryan offers you the chance to gamble with the 2 bits right away. And there are no ads.

Usually sites recoup their investments through ads. Ryan doesn't really do that. He only has the revenue from the gambling site. He doesn't really need to attract every single person who harvests faucets. Really the point of the faucet is to get to know the site a bit.

Since everyone is talking about the faucet, my idea has always been to have one of the worst faucets and instead offer pretty much the best house edge.

I guess not a lot of people realize this, but while faucet users while add a lot of site activity, they tend to add a lot of support load and over the last 6 months I've actually put a huge amount of effort to deal with the majority of tickets within within an hour (there have been many exceptions, and I do sleep as well) but spending less time dealing with faucet abuse and people who lost their password on a faucet accounts definitely makes my life easier.

So really, the faucet's purpose is to allow people to try the game before they deposit, but it's not really an integral part of the game play =)

Another big milestone coming up: Almost one year in business!

Meanwhile, the max profit has creeped up all the way to +7 BTC in a single game! 6 BTC has been won several times, but who will be first to win a lucky 7?

Have you ever thought of replacing the faucet with a "rainbot" in chat? It would get more users to use the chat, at times it can get a little silent.

Good idea. Probably the main reason I haven't gone down that route, is if people are going to abuse the system (which happens ~200 times a day) I'd rather they weren't disruptive. But than again, having some disruptive rain catchers is probably more entertaining than silence ... assuming no one's trying to have a serious conversation at the time.
