WHAT'S THE PROBLEM ??

Dont know why all you conspiracy people have your tin foil hats on.

#1 If you dont like the deal here move on, nobody forced you to come here.
#2  As long as the BTC come every night, then whats the problem. I dont care where they come from as long as they are deposited each day.
#3 If you are nervous take your BTC out every night and put it in your wallet.

I you REALLY cant afford to take a risk with your money then buy a CD at your local bank.

No one every said BTC mining was risk free, but stop looking behind every tree to find an imaginary boogeyman.

So far, and its only been less than a week, I'm happy with the payouts from the  "new" Zenpool.
So far they have beat " Clevermining by about 20 % , at least for me.

What some people dont realize is maybe just maybe Zenpool has come up with some new Algorithms to squeeze out some additional profit.

Remember the pools we are comparing to have been around a while and maybe they aren't exactly keeping up with the latest in mining software.
Maybe Zenpools being the new kid on the block has built a better mousetrap.

Cripes it hasn't even been a week yet why dont we all sit back and see what happens.

And as the old saying goes, if you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Bob

We can say the same thing to you buddy...if you don't like us talking bad about your gaw then don't come here and read it...we are just speaking our concerns...if you got a problem with that then le

IF you don't like GAW what the hell are you doing hanging around here Huh?
You dont have anything better to do in your life then to hang around a forum  complaining about something you don't like or understand.

Gimme a break, and get a life  Roll Eyes

From my point of view........  yes,  tin foil hats, but those who don't care what's GAW is really doing are wearing them.

Yes, you are receiving BTCs now, but for how long?  don't you care about that?
This scam won't last long, what about their last batch of customer?  maybe you don't care about them.
How about the whole eco system? I guess you don't mind this industry become full of scams.

That's why we want to show you some fundamentals.

I'm really glad that people like Gavin Andresen expressed concerns.

Hi Bob,

The problem is essentially #2.  If you read the rest of this thread you will see many questions and some numbers that seem to indicate that GAW does not seem to be allocating their hash to LTC or any of the other alts.  That makes the payouts very problematic.  Ponzi's work by having amazingly high payouts that sucker in more money until the day they stop paying out.

Many in this thread are worried about the day when the BTC does not come every night, or in such small amounts that the miner becomes a guaranteed loss.  Thus, considering the precise nature of where and how GAW operates is the essence of making an informed decision.  Sitting back and waiting is gambling.  If you only want to wait to see what happens and not attempt to figure out the situation, then this is clearly not the thread for you.

Suggesting that the "latest mining software" or age is somehow why clevermining produces as much as 40% (its always more than 20% for me) less payouts in a set period is ludicrous.  The algorithm would make some sense if the hash could be seen anywhere and if payouts were not consistently higher than the most profitable alt coin each day.

What do you think?  Where is the hashrate going?  What allocation of hash matches these payouts?  What is your reasoning?  That's how we can keep this on track.

We are asking (and trying to find) evidence to show that GAW either is or is not a scam.  You should not be trusting anyone here--use you brain instead to find a logical answer.

I am guessing you do not know who Gavin Andresen is Slark.  Do you think he is trying to scam you out of some of your BTC too?

For anyone doubting here is a photo of just one of GAWMiners farms from the CEO Josh Garza

http://altcoinforum.org/GAWfarm.jpg

You might want to pull it seeing that it was deleted from hashtalk.

We can see a warehouse and that they have a few hundred miners in stock. It's very unlikely that it's a mining farm since there is not a single cable, power supply, or controller in sight and you can't stack Zeus hardware like that. These red ones are Falcons I think, that's 1 KW per machine. Not sure what the black ones are, maybe Zeus Thunder - similar to Falcon. At the very least I would like to see the other side of those shelves. There would need to be some impressive cable management and cooling back there.

Edit: duplicate words words.

Just a quick note for all of you doing various ROI and profit calculations - all calculations that I've seen are made on the basis of ZenPool's profitability. You should be very careful with this. ZenPool has a ?magic? profitability - 50% higher than any other well established multipool.

This kind of profitability is simply unrealistic. I'm not saying that it is impossible - but take into account this:
- what kind of a magician one must be to get 50% higher profitability comparing to all other pools where all multipool operators with years of experience can't find such a magical key?
- to make this kind of profitability with nearly 200 GH/s hashing power one would instantly kill any altcoin that might be so profitable in a specific period of time.

That said - ZenPool's profits are likely unrealistic and are probably paying additional profits from their own funds to provide this kind of profitability (similar to Ghash.io promotion a couple of months ago) - I guess this couldn't last forever (or even months).

So I advice all of you to calculate your ROI's based Litecoin profitability instead of ZenPool's profitability - otherwise you are most likely gambling. Of course, you can never know, maybe they actually did find a magic wand for the ZenPool? Believe it if you want (or if you can afford to believe) Wink

Yes, they very well might be supplementing the daily payouts with a return of capital.  That is one of the points made in this thread, and a likely one at that.

Doing so without advertising that fact is extremely unethical (if not illegal) as it will trick the uninformed into believing their miner will be profitable, or at least much more profitable then it really will be.
