Were you compensated with 3 for the price of 1?

Monarch compensation comes out to $2/GH. Anybody who doesn't request a refund is buying overpriced space heaters.

Ants!

Very clean. Dig your setup and am going to change a few things on my side because of it.

Are your ants new? If so, do you have free electricity? I'm asking because I have a similar setup but intend to sell them pretty soon. After a few more jumps it looks like they won't even pay for their electricity.

25 Monarchs up and running.

This may well be the most FUBAR-ed form factor ever.  And that is saying a lot.

Nice, but is antminer s1 still profitable to mine?
1.1W/GH ... not so bad at all... Cheap/free power (solar), no investment....

Hi
what system are you using for the temperature monitoring,

thanks
Paul

A raspberry pi with some cheap ebay (waterproof) sensors
What do you use as your solar power? I am looking into getting into solar energy in the future and wanted to see some setups.

Some Japanese 255Watt panels with micro inverters. 230V sockets on it, plug & play
On panels 10 years warranty, on the micro inverters 25 years

I will check tomorrow on the back of the panels Wink But it is from a local wholesale shop here in Belgium. They import this stuff. Price was 1 Euro per Watt (including the inverters). So for 1kW you pay 1000 Euro. The expected (real values) output is around 800kwh / year per set of 4 panels

Thanks for the compliment Smiley. I ordered about 4 from each batch 1 through 7. I have 28 s3 antminers in total. I pay a flat monthly rate to rent out my little server room which includes free electricity. I've already mined back ~40% of my BTC investment so break even is looking good and some profit is possible if I sell them at the right time or difficulty stays under 15% for a bit.

It's not "free" electricity if he's paying for hosting. A % of that hosting fee is to cover their electricity costs, based on typical consumption of a typical client. Hosting companies arn't going to take a hit to their profits because they're nice people. Likewise if he and others in that DC start to raise their power consumption noticeably then those costs are going to be passed on at some point. On the other hand if he means he's renting residential space, then he'll have some questions to answer when the landlord gets a powerbill that's hundreds of % higher.

Hi guys, i'm not in the mining worl anymore since 5 or 6 months... Right now i see all this pictures of this big guys and their colosus mining rigs..
I can't stop thinking that mining is not profitable anymore.
With this prices, if you buy 6000 usd of bitcoins instead of a miner (KNC) you get real profit when the prices go up again.
Im very sab with this cause honestly i love to make money with all my GPUs. I think the industry f*cked all of us.
Thanks for still supporting Bitcoin and litecoin, and giving us more and more security.

Exactly, that's what we are doing, did you think the purpose of bitcoin mining was anything other than heating houses in the winter?

I dont think mining is any different today than its ever been. Its almost always been better to just buy coins rather than mine, this hasnt changed.

@smracer your setup looks so clean  Roll Eyes

Some people argued in another thread that you can't have miners placed like that, without separating hot and cold air. Looks like they were wrong Cheesy
