Just find an abandoned dam and build a hydro system there, power your miners and a cell phone to the internet, then go :-)

No dam needed: http://www.zotloeterer.com/welcome/

What is that ? Is it an alternative to dams ?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It's fish friendly because the speed of rotation is relatively slow. Also when they design a particular project they take the size of the biggest fish living in that river into account.

I started off with something small, very light on power. Then it blew out of proportion!

Here is my working room heater Wink

I have a wooden custom build case under my desk with big ATX chassis in it, and one undeclocked Avalon4 connected to my Linux workstation which is always powered on anyway Smiley

Avalon4 is connected directly to my PC's power supply

My PC is an good old Intel quad-core, custom water cooled with water cooled GPU (an old AMD, doesn't even support OpenCL, so I can't mine with it Wink )

But my undeclocked Avalon4 at only 30% fan speed is almost totally silent and at 45C it makes a great foot heater for cold days

That makes a nice heater that actually makes Bitcoins ... the miner itself draws about 380W which makes lesst hen 0.55 W/GH at wall ... considering the heating effect the electricity is basically free.

Nice setup; I like the variety.  I haven't used an Avalon 4.1; which of the three do you like best?

They all have PRO and CON.

From left to right.
S5 is really stable. With 2 Delta Fan I can run it cold at 1200gh and 393.75  (he got outside air -10 )

Avalon is the quiet one. I cant hear it and that is awesome. He trow a lot of hot air but that ok since he is quiet. I get 1th steady.

And the last one is the SP20. A beast but loud. The S5 was loud but I manage to find a better fan. Will maybe try to look for the same think on the SP20. To make it quiet I use it with Philipma1957 setup and get 1144gh and as much silent it can be. (Fan at 6) Still more loud then the 2 others.

Total of about 3.5th and Im happy to have 1 of each.  Grin

Im waiting for next gen before buying. Each miner have PRO and CON so it depend what you need.

 Wink

the vibrations of the miner go through the wood and makes ugly noises. i have to get some stick-on-plastic-bumpers for the screws on the bottom. until this, is't on an envelope with bubblewrap inside

Wow, how do you do it?!   Huh

How are you able to run that in your home without any complaints from your S.O., extracting that amount of heat, and that killer electrical bill?

Very impressive.  What is the wood and the covering for?

I like your idea looks like a small office or industrial warehouse, but you definitely optimized the space there.
