Edit.. btw cool rig:)  mine arent so nicely compact as that.. would you have a thread that goes over the parts you used to setup the machine.. Ive already scored finding a line on pcie 1x - 16x risers and on the h81 probtc mobo.. those are sweet setups for this.. im on my 3rd rig now im pushing 400 mhs atm.  ive been buying up used 290 (x) off ebay.> been a good bargain and can roi within 2 months:)/  Im most interested in that rack you made.. That is something ive been looking at building yet i dont know where to start and i know others have gone thru this before.  I like that they are adjustable.. Any info id really appreciate it.. thanks again

Edit id suggest you go solo if you have a good internet connection.. Ive been killing it since i moved off the pools.  just need geth and eth proxy by sammy007 and your set.. You also run way more efficient.. Ive got mine setup to refresh every 50 ms for the proxy so im on new blocks very fast.  I could go lower but 20 ms seemed to be my threshold for a 8 core 4 ghz puter.  anyway once you get past a couple hundred mh/s id really think about it..

ohh and i just bought some of these for my rigs so that they would boot properly.. what a pain that was for a noob on the gpu rigs..  http://www.amazon.com/CompuLab-fit-Headless-Display-Emulator/dp/B00FLZXGJ6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Wow I feel so underpowered with my two separate machines.  each with a single GPU in them mining away!

i'll just need to take citronik's route and go crack a block Smiley

Well, actually its not that bad)
Those cases were a bargain, i bought all 4 for 80$.
6x390 = 2200$
2 psu = 150$
motherboard, ram and etc = 120$

so one rig cost me 2550 usd.

thanks for the advice Doug - Brutus is phase 1 of my project. Olive, Popeye and Seahag will join him in the next week or so when all the parts arrive to complete Phase 2.

With the 6th GPU likely solved this weekend. Potentially this beast will be a 720MH ETH monster with no OC. That's 24 x MSI R9 390 humming in a single open cage drawing 6400 watts of power.

Many forum members have PM me on the rig detail. This is my first ETH rig (well, first serious multi GPU system) so I am also learning as I go. I got good help from experienced members like thedreamer in setting up Brutus. A few mistakes here and there, esp missing the headless adapter thingy. I am sourcing parts from US and China to keep costs down....

I hope to get the solo mining ready soon - Brutus is currently pool mining. Will post the finished product when ready.

that gives me an idea.. i have 40 of the gridseed a1 miners that were 24 mhs litecoin miners collecting dust.   they had 10 cards mounted in a configuration of  two boards per row and a heat sink.. http://cryptomining-blog.com/2675-a-new-gridseed-scrypt-asic-miner-might-be-coming-out-soon/  wish i had a better  pic for ya off hand.. i think i might be able to fit some gpus in there instead.. I got hold of 4U server chassis, but it will need some serious dremel work, so I have decided to use a larger open frame concept because my project is 4 rigs in 1 rack. Have you tried OC the 390s?

Yeah, of course...
Those cases hold oc'ed 390 perfectly fine.
But i prefer underclocking anyways.

Behold, my first ETH rig - BRUTUS -

5 x MSI R9-390 (about 28MH each x 5 = 140MH, no overclocking yet)
Pool: about 3.5-4 coins per day at Dwarfpool. Moved to ethpool.org, 5 coins every 1.5 days
Asrock H81 BTC Pro motherboard on Windows 8.1 Pro
Minimalist Celeron Dual core CPU with Crucial 4GB x 2
Samsung 850 Pro 120GB SSD
EVGA 1300w x 2 (next rig will use EVGA-1600w)
Custom open-cage rack
USB cable - PCI risers

Credits: thanks to "thedreamer" for helping me out with my first rig.
Note: I can't get the 6th x GPU working...  Angry

I am working on my next ETH rig, OLIVE....

Wtf!!! Is is awesome that, how much?

BRUTUS is part 1 of the 4 part ETH Project to achieve 600MH/s.
The big ticket item are the GPUs which is bought new, 350-360$ each x 6.
Eventually, there will be 20 x of these GPUs in the final phase of project.
others... The mobo, ssd, psu, PCI risers etc about $500

very cool rig there i want to mine eth but i cannot seem to get the thing running so i went back to the machine being offline i was mining x11 on my old 2 videocard rig
