I'd be interested about people's thoughts on keeping miners/PSUs so close to styrofoam like this. Seems like a nightmare to me.

The styrofoam is just 1 inch thick. i made it that way to create an airtight environment. its sucking cold air from an airconditioned room and blowing hot air out the window. the psu's never gets hot. U want to buy the S7? its still 4 months old. Smiley

I'd be a little concerned. If anything were to happen you'd have a hot gooey mass to contended with and no way to salvage anything either. Plus why is it there in the first place?

It's sealed air tight, sucking cold air from inside an air conditioned room, and blowing the hot air out a window. the PSU's never got hot. Smiley

@Eric Mu
I just wanted to say how impressed I am from your Mining farms, and how efficient and simple they look.
Ever since I read:

Technically not mine but clients'.
Wow! Shocked I'm really impressed with that. What is your total hashing? And how much $/day did you make?

Sorry but he clearly said that those are his clients' miners, not his own.

I'd most mine but it's legit a single stick in a Raspberry Pi (I plan on getting more miners soon however lol)

a miner is a miner Smiley should be a bunch of stick miner pics in this thread.

i have 5 compacs on a pi/hub, should probably add a pic of my little corner of the stick world.

Its styrofoam. I made it air tight in an airconditioned room. it sucks in cold air then blow the hot air out the window. Im selling the S7's now.(SOLD)

Nice setup. I like the suspended aspect. Different and uses "wasted" space in the room.

Interesting setup you got there- I like how you're using the heat from the S9 and S3 for heating. Lowers bills just a tiny bit but every bit helps. I'm guessing there's stuff below the miners so you suspended them, but I'm pretty surprised that you're still using S3s. I sold mine for S5s a while back as a small upgrade.

I have straight Electric heat here
and it costs us about 5 cents USD per KW.
So the S9 is essentially replacing a fraction of what the furnace would burn. It's -47 with wind chill here right now, so I consider the power it's burning as free, I'd be using it anyway lol

Only one of the S3s is running. Yes they are poor effeciency, but all I have. It was more of a matter of using the two left over PCI-E lines and getting a little ambient air.
We run an electric fireplace in the basement when we are down there to take the chill out.
So again the power the S3 uses is essentially free.

As for the suspended setup.
Yes I have a Freezer bellow it, and using a shelving unit for so little, seemed like a waste of space to me.
This allowed me to get it into a more solid location, and it looks cool Smiley
