Wish i had the money to buy that kind of hardware. I really wanted to try out mining for a long time but when i heard that mining is a costly task, i immediately backed out. I currently have an HP laptop and i dont think it can perform such a task so im saving bitcoins to buy a PC with specs that can withstand mining's power consumption.

PCs cannot mine Bitcoin effectively, I assume you are talking about Altcoins. Currently prices are a little inflated for GPUs so it may be wise to wait until this is all over to buy GPUs. Both Altcoin and Bitcoin mining is extremely expensive right now due to various reasons, and I expect prices will only go up.

Here's a couple of photos showing how I re arranged my miners. Four miners per rack. Each shelf has 2 X 1300W IBM server power supplies, both wired to a single switch fused spur. All four spurs (one from each shelf) wire back to a consumer unit with a 10A circuit breaker for each spur. Also a fifth breaker for a utility socket for each rack. Fed with a 3-Phase 400v circuit and a neutral to give me 230v.

It's 3-Phases with four outlets so each rack alternates the phase the 4 th outlet is on to maintain a balance.

my first real rig  Grin

I am sorry to hear one of your GPU burned, but it is a nice wooden rig. I also wanted to build my first wooden rig soon, planned to start with 1050ti and 1070 on hand first, then later add more cards to max all slots.

BTW, mind sharing the reason why one card burned? I'm really new to mining world, quite nervous about card burning...

Use the fan speed & maybe underclock GPU core to maintain temps of 60c-70c.I try not go over 70c ever  Wink

90c is usually melt time so if you see one heading that high cut it off ASAP  Wink

GPUz is a good temp' monitor for all temps on GPUs,shows ram temps whereas most only show core temp.

Fans run at 100% are not a real bad thing, fans are easy to find & maybe to replace.

the wording clearly wrong there. I just didnt use one of the gpu there because it make the whole system unstable. Probably because of the low PSU I have. thats why i'm saying 1 gpu rip. hahaha so sorry for the wording.

the whole system runs normal now. nothing to worry about.

Few pics of my mining gear and setup as it stands today. More being added shortly.

Its a hot side cold side setup.

Miners intake from the cold and exhaust into the hot side via sound lowering baffle box.

Hot side air is controlled by thermostat controlled exhaust fans that kick into use as needed to regulate temperatures.

Many months of 24/7 operation with this setup with happy miners and temps.

Hot side doubles as storage and also a good place to spray some car panels

Nice! Looks like a really clean setup... I have an S9 in a datacenter cold corridor but it still runs 83 degrees Temp2 (13.5T version).

Just finished Smiley See above

i would probably keep the floor under the bottom shelf clear so air can circulate under there. might help with convection type air flow.

Running this S5 for over 2 years now. Still running it for the fun, even though it's probably not breaking even anymore  Grin

3D printed some parts to improve the airflow/temps.
Have had zero issues with it, only had to replace the PSU.
