importprivkey "key" [[Error code -4 ]]

I would assume this is because I've already imported the private key earlier. So now I cannot import it again.. but the balance I have is still showing up as 0 SLG

Any other ideas?

Lets conduct a test. Post or PM the public key address on the premier crypto card and I will send 1 SLG to that address. It should in-turn end up within your wallet if the private key was in fact imported from the card.

Wallet Address:

SSQZ8SN4maZ7f4VSxbYTHoskZrA3o6aoR4

Transaction ID: ba934a2fece48f83c1d3144a0d750d48a837078a6b19aff8d0e65a94e9463b41

EDIT: Now fully confirmed.

It is showing the 1 SLG, but not the 10. When I imported the private key it took it. If it didn't take it an error code would come up in red, but a response came that was blank. Usually in linux when nothing happens as a result of your input it is a good thing meaning the input took.. I will try to import the key again and see what happens

EDIT{ "Error adding key to wallet (code -4) }

We have proven you had imported the private key succesfully by me sending the 1 SLG to the address and you recieving it.

This would indicate, for whatever reason, the card in question had a balance of zero when you imported it.

I'm also having trouble with my sterlingcoin.conf file, here's the contents:

addnode=seed1.sterlingcoin.org.uk
addnode=74.5.137.87
addnode=164.132.55.71
addnode=188.166.152.255
addnode=128.199.92.169
addnode=108.61.177.110
addnode=108.61.198.207
addnode=108.61.179.216
addnode=209.222.30.241

Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. However, you might want to try removing the first entry, "addnode=seed1.sterlingcoin.org.uk" as that will not resolve presently. This is because the hosting and VPS's we did have being lost due to financial reasons of the past. We do hope to restore this but, presently it is unfortunately not yet restored.

You should be able to sync and discover more nodes from the other mentioned nodes.

Still not working? Am I missing somthing in my .conf file? here's the entire settings again:

addnode=74.5.137.87
addnode=164.132.55.71
addnode=188.166.152.255
addnode=128.199.92.169
addnode=108.61.177.110
addnode=108.61.198.207
addnode=108.61.179.216
addnode=209.222.30.241

I don't get hy it's not working? i named it "sterlingcoin.conf"and double checked it has access through my firewall.

Try adding these lines also:

server=1
daemon=1
listen=1

See if that works for you. If it does not, I have moved a fresh peers.dat file to http://sterlingcoin.guru/peers.dat
Overwrite your present peers.dat file with that file.

Either way, I hope you will be able to find some peers and sync up.

The peers.dat did the job, thanks.

Keep up the good work on the coin, I sense a price correction soon.

The Sterlingcoin team did not sell nor make the cards. The cards were sold and made by a community member. Please do not say, "scammed by SLG". Personally, I too purchased 10 cards. Your issue has made me question my own cards but, I have gifted them all.

I am glad your sencond card did work. I will send 49 SLG to the previously mentioned first address as a good gesture later today when I get back to my desk. But, again, the Sterlingcoin team did not make nor sell the cards and we are sorry to learn of the issue.

I gifted several as well. I do very much appreciate the gesture. I am also upset that at the time I purchased the coin I thought I was supporting the dev team. I was mistaken, thinking the dev team were using the cards as a way to raise funds.. and I thought it was a good idea and wanted to support the coin. If, in fact, the cards were made by a community member then I understand I have no recourse and it is not the fault of SLG. I still support the coin, I still want to incorporate the coin into our projects and developments at allentownbitcoins.com.

@Kasper_SKY - I had these original SLG crypto-cards produced. Please provide me with the cards Issue No. and the corresponding wallet address for the card which had the apparent 'error' - so that I can investigate this properly.

Please also clarify if you obtained the card directly from the StartJOIN crowdfunding pitch or from elsewhere? I also trust that the security seal (sticker) on the reverse of the card remained fully intact before its removal?

@Sterlingcoin (team) Does SLG have a fully working live block explorer at present?

For community transparency, I will also document here that the "100 Bitcoin Expo London 2015 Limited Edition Sterlingcoin Cryptocards", pictured here: - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=721936.msg10235501#msg10235501
were produced and shipped to the SLG dev. Spencer at my own expense and that to date no agreed settlement for these cards has been received.

The SLG Premier Edition crypto-cards for the StartJOIN project were individually produced and also separate to this batch of cards, however.

To my knowledge no such issues have been raised with other crypto-cards produced to date.

I'm sure that this can all be resolved easily and amicably.

Thank you for your attention in this matter and for responding, BitcoinFX.

A working SLG block explorer can be found at prohashing.

EDIT: fyi, this was Steve responding. I was never aware of any financial debt to BitcoinFX and cannot speak on Spencer's behalf.

Is there going to be a marketing campaing in the future like the one Aurora is going to launch soon?

I think any marketing campaign we do, at least at the present, will have to be done by us. We can not afford hiring any marketing companies or anything like that.

I do feel we can accomplish much alone through articles, present social media, word of mouth, and perhaps community members have skills or resources they could assist marketing Sterlingcoin with. Is there something more specific you had in mind, Parano? Or if anyone else has ideas, please feel free to chime in.

any news ??

I (Steve) did discuss with Matt the mentioned addition of SLG masternodes in a new revision of the wallet. He agreed it would be a good addition when we bring the code up to current standards. We hope to begin work on that this summer.

Hi Steve

Thanks for the update.  Can you elaborate on precisely what you mean by 'current standards'.

What differences will we observe in SLG?

Apologies in advance if this is a daft question; as I have mentioned before, I am not a tech-head.  Roll Eyes

Hi Sterling Sentinel, no appoligy necessary. It is a good question and I am happy to elaborate. Of course, crytocurrency is not standardized so, perhaps my term usage is slightly misleading. What I meant is "up to par" with newer and more mature code bases. That is not to imply anything is necessarily wrong with the current code.

Over time and much peer review, better ways are found to do tasks. The nature of open sourced code is you can look to see if someone is doing a task in an improved way and if so, freely do similar or the same with your own code. So long as you intend to allow people to do the same with your code.

Using this model, software development flourishes. These differences might usually not be noticeable other than performance wise. Other, and yes more noticeable improvements, such as the mentioned masternodes can be added and merged into Sterlingcoin as well.

We started work on Sterlingcoin over two years ago. Yes we have made periodic updates but, now a "rebase" or starting from a more recent base model such as current bitcoin or current dash, depending on desired functions, is needed. Taking this approach a smaller team such as the Sterlingcoin team can leverage efforts by larger development teams that might not have had to spread focus among many projects.

I do feel an agile, creative, and now much more experienced and knowledgable team Sterlingcoin has, could easily "spring board" Sterlingcoin back to the forefront or even lead of the crowded field.

Its  good that you are thinking about things that can improve the quality of SLG but masternodes is not enough. For me masternodes is just another wallet. Many coins have them and I think it will not gain more investors. If it had been made a year ago then it would have been good.

I have been a supporter since the beginning and I have been holding up to 0.4 BTC worth of it. I liked the dev team and the work that they put into it but now they put their efforts into other coins than SLG. This coin have been in limbo waiting for an multipool that never happend.

This coin is the only coin that I have supported. I promoted it into Cryptopia but now Im out.

Did you happen to sell your coins as SLG reached 0.00003994 at Bittrex today, which is higher than I have seen in years ? I haven't sold any of mine yet.
