@Usukan, you are a very sharp man. And i see you are a very serious and active UTC community member. You have all my respect ! Why don’t you volunteer to be the new Dev-team manager ? I will support you 200% Kumusta and welcome to the UTC community Mr JM Erestain. Thank you for your offer to assist this community - I am sure we are open to serious discussion of your offer. It might be a good idea if you could give us a quick summary of your qualifications and experience in crypto and related areas. I have had a quick look through your history here and you have certainly been doing some interesting things. Checked your FB https://www.facebook.com/GMdpinoy13?fref=tsHow old are you? About the same age as Vitalik Buterin - a plus in my books - look what he did. Your site http://ph.newsbtc.com/ looks pretty good - is this really you? https://www.facebook.com/newsbtcph/?pnref=lhc (note the link on your FB to NewsBTC needs the www deleted) Do you know the guys from Coins.ph and Rebit? Both great companies in your country, revolutionising BTC and I deal with them a lot (mainly Coins.ph). You seem to be a straight up honest guy - with lots of energy. This means a lot to me as we have a lot of scumbags in crypto. Please get back to us with a few details and we can all discuss things here. Maraming salamat po - usukan If you are still in need of a marketing manager or a project head, I can fill in any of these roles.

Hello Usukan, yes I am just a 2 years and few months younger than Vitalik, May 13. Anyway, yes, I've worked with them and have had talks with them before. It's great to know another guy around here is more on the business side of things. And yes, I also own ph.newsbtc.com but not much goes on around here because most of the news in the Philippines regarding Bitcoin is about our organization anyway haha. I'm a co-founder of Navette, an umbrella company of bitcoin-based companies and a member of CoEvolution, a digital foundry community all based in the Philippines. I cover marketing, design and front-end web development. You might be seeing our product soon if you'll be dealing with the Philippines often. I think I'm qualified for taking up either marketing or project head, cuz that's what I'm experienced in anyway. Regards, JM Erestain

One thing stands out for me with this coin. Ultracoin traded for a long time in the top 100 marketcap altcoins with a high price, i.e. it has potential for trading quite high. There are allot of investors (like me) who hold a bag since the beginning, who are refusing to sell with such a crushing loss (I rather just loose it all in that case). Should we however be able to turn this around I believe there are many that can make a small furtune, why are not these bag holders more active, more concerned? Have they all written it off as a loss already?
Purely looking at price is not a long term thing, but we are all in this game as an investment opportunity and how active users are are very much dependant on the notion that in the end there is a gain which is noticable.
I think there are many holding 100k UTC or more, be active, support the coin again and do the math. Could we get the price up to 0.0001 or higher then we stand the chance to at least earn more than pocket change.
*drumroll* Here comes the comments about that price should not be main concern of the coin. Price reflects value, add value and price will follow, but the people who are going to add value will not not do it for free!
ask yourselves how much UTC are you holding? Is it worth it? For me it is! I do not hold allot, but for me, say we succeed in getting back on track, it would make a change in my life.
If we need to fork the coin so be it, Steven and Kracko obviously jumped ship, thus we need to change the people in charge too.

Thanks Emerge I read about Navette here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1293003.0Interesting and challenging project. I bet you wished you did it via Ethereum rather than NEXT and SAE is closed now. People are very quick to take up new projects in Ethereum DAPs - its the flavour of the day and may be for many years to come. Personally I would be keen to have you on board in marketing. You also have a major plus in Philippines/Asian area. I know these areas well esp Fils and they are ripe grounds for Crypto use. If I had the time I would have developed something here myself especially with simple SMS transfers. With your skills you might be able to mock up a new logo etc to mark the evolution of UTC to the next stage. What are your web skills - we need to update a few things on the official site. Dont forget to play around a bit with UTC - install the wallet and send me your address - I will send you 1000 UTC for trial purposes. We need an overall UTC manager/coordinator really to get things started. I can help here to get things kick started but it would be good to have somebody to take over the reigns properly as I cannot guarantee very much time at all. I am only here to prevent UTC from death and assist in putting together a new Team. First and foremost we need a dev or two to sort the tech side of the coin out. I see we have: - bret
bathrobehero whortonda thispanda
discussing things - can we make a dev group up from you guys? Do you 4 guys know enough between you to fix the retarget and fork things back to proper functionality? @Emerge - do you have any devs in your circle of friends/colleagues? Personally I am quite keen on Digishield as its tried and tested - but a simple reversion may be OK in the short term. But then its probably better to do the job once properly so I would favour Digishield for diff retargeting with a delay while it gets sorted out. Overall the wallet seems "heavy" to me - uses too much resources, freezes, crashes etc. A total wallet rebuild is required in the future at some stage. Things do actually work at present - the Bittrex exchange runs on a current functioning wallet and transfers in/out work just fine. Exchanges don't like continual changes/forks in coins - they get annoyed and lose interest esp on small vol coins. But Bittrex is certainly more responsive than Cryptsy ever was. @Alenevaa - are you keen to follow the new evolution of UTC and keep your pool running? We will need more than one pool - so we need to think about this too. Miners - what are your thoughts on all of this? Without you on board we could just waste our efforts here. So - we need a bit more discussion here and ideas from the community on the above. After that we can set some directions and put this UTC thing back together. On the bright side - there does seem to be a bit of a stirring at Bittrex https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-UTCcheck out the 1D version of the graph I don't want to take things over here - so if anybody else wants to step up and help or take over - be my guest. Hi folks,
Sounding positive, good news!
Could I just suggest, an app for android etc, wallet etc. For the coin to have a chance of being used/seen/played with, that needs to be high on the list of priorities. Must be a good way of getting folks, even older ones like me, utilizing the coin. Coins like scotcoin with its own wallet on the phone, are already more user friendly, and more likely for folk with smartphones to look up/play with/use? Not only that, makes it look like a more modern and up to date option
Just my thought, but seems so obvious/important to me...
Cheers,
Roister

I'm a cryptocurrency advocate and I see lots of potential from this altcoin especially since it's actually a pretty aged alt. I can work around with making a new logo yes, and move a few things up and around the website. I'll try making a chat for the dev team if ever, and I'd like to be able to talk to everyone who's willing to help. I am aware this is without financial compensation but I'm sure we can do this without much budget as long as we work closely and cooperate. If you'll have me, of course.

@Roister01 Totally agree on this - we need an Android wallet - but a lite one. Unfortunately we need to get the basics - the foundation of the coin - cleaned up before this There is already an Android wallet that Kracko built but it required your phone to download the whole blockchain. This is totally impractical. There is a lot of work to do to modify this or maybe better rebuilt from another open source template. After we get a team together we must get a Dev or two to take on this project. Steven alluded to Kracko making a start on the work but I guess we will not find that work. this was Stevens last update on plans in Nov 2015: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello everyone, There is currently an issue with the wallet that may cause the wallet so terminate randomly, Kracko believes he knows why and is currently trying to isolate the problem and release a fix. As for developments, I was just looking at the UTC game plan for 2015: 1. Android & iPhone - QR Codes - Lite Wallet - GUI 2. Merchant Services Pluigin 3. One Click Miner 4. NFC Wallet 5. Bitcoin/Ultracoin ATM 6. New Ultracoin Website 7. Hire Developer and Marketers 8. Ultracoin Shop Now that the new wallet is out, the one click miner shouldn't be too difficult, especially considering we are glued to our current N-Factor. As for the Bitcoin/Ultracoin ATM and NFC Wallet, that will come with more time and money when we have greater investor support. As for the merchant services plugin, third parties seem to be tackling this issue fairly well, the best thing to do is to get more third party support like we have with companies such as coinpayments. Until then, here is our line up for development projects in order of priority: 1. One Click Miner 2. Ultracoin Shop 3. Android & iPhone - QR Codes - Lite Wallet - GUI 4. Hire Developer and Marketers (Currently accepting volunteers) The one click miner shouldn't be too hard, and should open us up to a many GPU miners who lack experience in crypto-currency. The project was undertaken by a freelance developer a while ago, however, he was never able to bring the project to fruition. Kracko believes he should be able to iron this out fairly quickly. The Ultracoin shop will be undertaken by me and will feature Ultracoin memorabilia including t-shirts, stickers, etc. The next step is the Android & iPhone wallets, this is a big step and something we have put on the back burner, we currently have a working version of an Android wallet, however, the CPU usage is so demanding it is impractical for regular users and will drain battery life just updating the blockchain. We have been looking into lite wallet systems, whereby the user only downloads the blocks necessary to validate transactions that make up the users Ultracoin, thereby eliminating the need to download a substantial amount of the blockchain. This will be our next important step. Lastly, hiring more developers and marketers has always been a goal for our expansion, but the capital required in a non-profit project like this requires a lot of private funds, and we are currently accepting volunteers, but we still have our eyes on potential developers and freelancers who are want to become a part of the team at a reasonable quality to price ratio for their time. Sincerely, Steven "Rapture" Management Director Steven@Ultracoin.netUltracoin --------------------------------------------------------------------- I would suggest that the new roadmap be reorganised something like this: 1. Get a Dev team and Manager overall for UTC 2. Fix current Windows wallet (retargeting and streamline resource usage by wallet) 2. Get Marketing manager 2. Add a second mining pool 2. Get a block explorer 2. New or update - Ultracoin Website (add blockchain download http://cryptochainer.com/dir/) 3. Android wallet - QR Codes - Lite Wallet - GUI 4. IOS wallet 4. Iphone wallet 5. One Click Miner 6. The exciting stuff - whats our vision for UTC - apart from the price going up. How can we give the coin utility in an attractive niche amongst all the other ALT coins. Does the algo have something that is useful that could set UTC apart. We have plenty of time to discuss this. We need to make UTC a preferred currency in a specific niche. That will be the community's challenge to choose 1 or two areas and work towards this. Of course price is not unimportant. With little or no value we have few options to fund development and promotion. If the price goes up the community has combined resources to fund worthy projects - by donations. I doubt we really want to hand control over to "investors" again. Its a bit of a chicken or egg thing. Which comes first - price increase and then development OR development then price increase. Truth of the matter its going to need to be both from the start. - Development from volunteers - Manager, marketer and devs
Price increase from supporters and believers in the new UTC and its future - these are investors who buy UTC at Bittrex. They are just as important as management and devs and miners
So we need to get our foundations in place (1-2 below). 1. Get a Dev team and Manager overall for UTC 2. Fix current Windows wallet (retargeting and streamline resource usage by wallet) 2. Get Marketing manager 2. Add a second mining pool - and get a way lot more miners interested (but this comes naturally from price) 2. Get a block explorer 2. New Ultracoin Website Then we can move on to the other important areas for growth. In the meantime - if investors/community want to support the coin and they can't help with management, marketing and the tech end of development - your opportunity (not without great risk but certainly with potential for commensurate reward) is to show your belief in the new UTC and buy up on Bittrex. To me it already seems some signs already there at Bittrex and we have not even got started yet? We should set some targets on price to see how we are scoring (these are only arbitrary - but you will get the idea). Target 1 - 0.00001/1000 (coin has been resuscitated) Target 2 - 0.00005/5000 (UTC is back in business and we need to set in stone our vision and start work towards tailoring UTC to this) Target 3 - 0.0001/10,000 (Time for some serious development and roll out UTC into our chosen real world use areas) Target 4 - 0.001/100,000 (Its working - take your rewards for all your work and risk - then get ready for a new vision that we apply to expand) A lot of people say don't worry about the price - I DO worry about the price. When the price is low - you have no options - there is nowhere to go. Take a look at ETH recently - almost burnt all their funds - price low - moving to volunteer options to maintain things - they got it now almost to Homestead now like this with massive community support - price has taken off - they are now hiring and development will explode and take them to rival Bitcoin. Price gives you options. Of course it goes up and down with artificial pumps and dumps from non believers and fickle supporters - this will never stop. However - PRICE is the only real benchmark to how you are performing. There are a lot of projects that have done rather elegant technical work but the price does not follow because the market and users don't value the developments. You can't afford to waste the opportunity for funding when price goes up. We did waste this last round of high price in UTC and its why we are back to volunteers again. I believe if you are not growing and changing in Crypto - you are dying. If we are serious - we need to develop a funding mechanism for growth. We can discuss this going forward and any ideas welcome - but at the end of the day it probably comes down to donations to a Dev fund - but after the price has gone up and it really is at no extra cost to contributors from the community because they are all in solid profit. I would not worry about donations at present because we have not proved any capability yet - and really don't deserve any trust. In the far off future - we need to create a vision that includes UTC making a revenue stream from providing a genuinely useful product/service. Community - please discuss any or all the above. Anybody who wants to volunteer - step right up. Please spread the word! If anybody else wants to lead this - please cut in (you're entirely welcome). Cheers - usukan Hi folks,

Target 1 - 0.00001/1000 (coin has been resuscitated) Target 2 - 0.0005/5000 (UTC is back in business and we need to set in stone our vision and start work towards tailoring UTC to this) Target 3 - 0.0001/10,000 (Time for some serious development and roll out UTC into our chosen real world use areas) Target 4 - 0.001/100,000 (Its working - take your rewards for all your work and risk - then get ready for a new vision that we apply to expand) A lot of people say don't worry about the price - I DO worry about the price. Cheers - usukan Hi folks,
Sounding positive, good news!
Cheers,
Roister
I think I can develop the android wallet, give me a week or 2, and I think I can finish the lite wallet by then

http://ultracoin.net/img/forum/about.gifUltracoin is ultrafast with an transaction speed of 6 seconds and it needs only 60 seconds for confirmation ! Ultracoin is a hybrid proof-of-work / proof-of-stake coin, whereby active nodes are involved in the mining of blocks if they hold Ultracoin. With Ultracoin you can send and receive currency worldwide to friends, family or business partners. You may even exchange it for other currencies or simply use it to buy goods. Miners are currently awarded with 30 new Ultracoins per block, an amount which gets halved at 4,000,000 blocks, and then again at 6,000,000. The Ultracoin network is therefore scheduled to produce 100 million Ultracoins, which is almost 4.5 times as many currency units as Bitcoin. Ultracoin can be mined with both CPU's and GPU's. Furthermore, with an ASIC resistant Scrypt ChaCha base, you can feel at ease. This will ensure that you won't be surprised by new hardware technologies. UTC is a hybrid proof-of-work/proof-of-stake coin, whereby active nodes are involved in the mining of blocks if they hold UTC. The Ultracoin MissionTo create a première, accepted, easy to use, decentralized and supported crypto-currency with enough mass appeal to become seriously disruptive to the current economic system. To remain competitive in an unforgiving and ruthless free market in competing currencies, and never become a commodity. To become a powerful alternative to debt backed fiat, and never lose sight of that purpose. To take economics seriously, with disregard to gimmicks and manipulation. To provide stable releases that can serve users without fail. To garner a community united by a common purpose, mutual self-interest, and passion for crypto-currency. To take our communities investment, time, talent, and effort to the future, instead of "to the moon". To create a currency worthy of voluntary acceptance, without "legal tender" laws. To create money that will last years beyond generations, and not money that will be losing its value, starting wars, manipulated by political agendas, controlled by banks, printed to infinity, forced upon the people, squandering savings accounts, propping up the financial sector, or controlled by the few. To create a currency that will be recognized beyond political affiliations, geographical boarders, or nationalities. To change the face of currency and the way commerce is performed as we know it. - Total coins: 100,000,000

So settings in your .bat and .conf files like thread-concurrency and gpu mem clock as well as total system memory will become more important. Also, for most people, lowering intensity has been required after N-factor increases to avoid HW errors.

What to expect as a result:
1- An equilibrium between CPU and GPU mining at one point. 2- UTC value rising as a result of increased cost to mine. 3- UTC becoming more and more ASIC resistant as time goes by. 4- Cloud mining will be a choice as another mining medium.
Conclusion: UTC is positioning itself to be a major beneficiary of the LTC migration. We all saw the migration from bitcoin to LTC as a result of ASICS. Soon UTC will see the same sort of migration as Scrypt Asics roll out in large numbers. which is asic-resistant
We have been working hard to finalize our coin, and I have been fortunate enough to work with a team consisting of a good dev and a professional external consultant to help guide the entire process. We have also commissioned custom pool software with real time API data to our website to track various statistics, such as users, hashrates and current difficulty. You may know me (bumface) as a chat moderator on btc-e, however i would like to emphasize the fact that this coin is not an affiliate of btc-e, but a personal endeavour with a proper team. Through our common love for crypto we got together as equal partners to make this coin a reality. We have offered rewards in BTC and UTC for many jobs, and some jobs are still open (Please view the 'Rewards and Bounties' section.)
We are currently in negotiations with multiple exchanges
Announcement : 13 jan. Launch and : February 1st. Mining start : X
We have this logo as a temperary logo, we have commissioned a logo by a real graphic designer, if this does not work out, we will organise a competition with a reward.

ultracoin is a hybrid proof-of-work/proof-of-stake coin, whereby active nodes are involved in the mining of blocks if they hold utc. this will give a strong incentive to a. hold coins and b. be an active node (e.g. have wallet open/running) on the network.
this means that, under certain circumstances, you may accrue 20% proof-of-stake interest per year on the coins you own.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/official_utc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Why is there a premine? You will probably have noticed a 2% premine, allow me to explain why we did this. We wish to be open about every single coin in existence, so you may see where it went and why.
Public premine distribution ledger: -1.600.000 UTC are available to purchase by any potential stakeholder (Please view stakeholders proposition below.) in an open bidding system with a minimum bid of 0.00005[btc] -100.000 UTC go to partner 1:Ziggy (dev) -100.000 UTC go to partner 2:bumface (founder) -100.000 UTC go to our professional external consultant. (as well as 5 btc) -100.000 UTC go to rewards for jobs done by any capable developer, for example: making an android wallet, or making a working mining pool with real-time API data link to our main website. (also btc rewards)
Please note that every partner gets 0.1% of the total number of coins, we feel this is not unreasonable as a compensation for our time and investment. We will have the balance of our wallets visible on our homepage so everybody can see when we sell coins from our personal wallet. The reason we do this is because we feel there are too many coins where the premine is left unexplained and there are vague wallets with unidentified coins and owners.
We hope that this will foster a good relationship with the community. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What is different about Ultracoin??
Let be honest, the code is not the most difficult part of an endeavour like this, although scrypt ChaCha is not the easyest thing to do because of enhanced asic resistance.
So what is left then? ......the team. The people behind it. What is their intention? what is their vision?
Ultracoin has employed many influential people for ammounts like 5 btc, 10 btc and 15 btc per person as well as UTC rewards.Every person brings a different skillset to the table and is hard at work to make things happen for UTC.
It is not yet super evident to the public how this will unfold into actual results, but if you keep an eye on us you will see many fast and wonderfull developements.
Without this kind of support a coin is just a coin, and has no real future. We wish to stand out from a legion of altcoins and with the building of this community we will achieve that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stakeholders proposition
BIDDING IS CLOSED<EXPECT A REPLY TODAY< WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO ACCEPT (ALMOST) ALL BIDS>STAY TUNED
ALL OFFERS ACCEPTED, NOBODY REJECTED The reason we want to sell of coins during the launch is because not everybody has an ability to mine coins, this would give an unfair advantage to early miners. They would get a fairly large amount of coins due to low difficulty, giving a great advantage over traders who have to wait until our coin is accepted on exchanges. Stakeholders rights: Stakeholder have a right to be anonymous for as long as they please (including in perpetuity). A total of 1,600,000 UTC will be available to purchase right after the UTC launch by anybody who desires to do so. These 1.600,000 UTC will come out of the 2% premine, not on top of it. This means 98% (98 million UTC) of all coins can be mined by anyone with a GPU or CPU. We will accept open offers with a coin amount and price of your choice (with a minimum bid of 0.00005 btc per unit of UTC), and will select people until all 1,600,000 UTC is sold.
We will launch as on February 1st, however you may make an offer to us now as of now.
Please send your offer to X. Offers will be entertained and replied between 13-1-2014 and 27-1-2014
this offer must include:
- your (nick) name this name will be on our website along with your UTC adress to offer total transparancy, if you wish to remain anonymous put an X here.
-The ammount of UTC you wish to purchase
-Your UTC unit price (with a minimum of 0.00005[btc]) and the totals in UTC and BTC.
Example message:
name : billy UTC amount : 10.000 (ten thousand) unit price : 0.00005 total : 0,5[btc]
you may copy & paste this
name : UTC amount : unit price : total : [btc]
If your offer is accepted you will recieve an adress to send [btc] to, and as soon as we have received and verified your [btc], you will receive an e mail confirming your payment. We will destribute all the wallets to stakeholders on the same day as the wallet link goes up, and then you will recieve your coins( this is to prevent early mining and also reduce chance of 51% attack
please note that verification will not be optimal in the beginning since we need the miners to act as nodes (Custom pool software is being built).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-What will happen with the [btc] that comes in?
A portion of this amount will be used for rewards and bounties to further the development of Ultracoin (please view the rewards and bounties section below), as well. The remainder of the BTC will be divided under the 2 equal partners to recoup the investment in this coin, and yes, we will also earn [btc] with this endeavour. Also note that we are in this thing for the long haul and we are thinking long term, so because we might sell our coins years from now, the 2 partners will take some BTC at the start from the stakes that are sold. We have no intention of dumping our coins when it reaches a certain value and then abandon this project. We would also like to state that we have no intention of becoming the next hype coin, with a massive rise in the first week and then a downwards slope without recovery. If this is what you desire there are many hypecoins to choose from, but that`s not us. Bitcoin took 5 years to get to this level, so we have all the time in the world. We would rather have slow growth towards a truly stable coin than the next hype coin.
Please note that we would also like to ask larger stakeholders to sell responsibly right after launch, so that a healthy market may form.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rewards and Bounties We will be giving rewards/bounties for certain jobs paid in BTC and/or UTC.
Our dev will review your work, and if it is selected we will launch it for a 2 week evaluation period in which the community can use it so we may test it for flaws and bugs. After the work has passed the quality norm, you will receive your reward, and it will be visible on our homepage. such jobs include: -Blockchain explorer - 7500 UTC
-Android wallet - 3000 UTC -Mac wallet - 3000 UTC
-mac os gpu miner - 3000 UTC
-Linux wallet - 3000 UTC -Linux gpu miner - 3000 UTC
If you feel you are a capable developer, you may start one of these jobs at once, please announce that you are working on it on this thread.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We hope to have informed you properly and openly about our project and we know that we are nothing without acceptance from the community. Crypto is an open market and we hope we can provide a stable coin with a proper and dedicated team behind it, however the community will decide our success or failure so please join us and make ultracoin a success. Thank you :D

OK - I see.
Not a bad idea - I guess things to watch are security and reliability of host. Others may have some tips/comment.
If my understanding is correct you would also be able to use this framework for a "lite" web based desktop wallet for PC/Mac also?
Of course its absolutely mandatory the private keys are held by the user and these are secure especially during transactions. I'm not tech but thats my question from the risk related to centralisation.
Cheers

Personally I am quite keen on Digishield as its tried and tested - but a simple reversion may be OK in the short term. But then its probably better to do the job once properly so I would favour Digishield for diff retargeting with a delay while it gets sorted out. Overall the wallet seems "heavy" to me - uses too much resources, freezes, crashes etc. A total wallet rebuild is required in the future at some stage.
@Alenevaa - are you keen to follow the new evolution of UTC and keep your pool running?
Cheers - usukan
It's better to use (IMO) the approved algo for difficulty adjustment (such as DigiShield) than try to fix own scheme. I will upgrade the pool wallet when the new devs make changes.

Great - thanks Alenevaa - I agree (better to wait and do it right once with DigiShield) ...
