The update to 1:02 worked well. Nice that you have to back up any files.

I raise even plots, soon I'm at 25TB. Smiley

25 TB, where do you need that for?  Grin

.. Now do you understand why you cannot find any block!??  Cheesy

Yeah  Tongue

But I'll keep mining till I find a few. I like this concept and will invest in hardware when this is going to be a new trend.

Maybe I can replace my gpu's someday and live in a silent house again  Grin

How many hard disks can I connect to a raspberry pie when I use a powered usb hub and will it work?

Yes, but you can use it with only one miner! Mining on the same plot with 2 pc it's a waste of space!

So I understand that Burst is mineable solely with hard drive space. So is it better to get a very large traditional 7200 RPM drive or is it better to get an SSD? Does using an external drive (USB 2.0 or Firewire) affect performance? Can the drive be hooked up to a low performance laptop?

I'm mining also with my laptop! After generating plot, doesn't matter if it's a low performance laptop.. You need only HDD space! I've found 5 blocks so far with my laptop and its 571 GB plot! On my home pc i'm using also USB HDD and I've found 45 blocks so far!

Wow, 45 blocks on how much HDD space on that external drive?

2788 GB! But I'm mining since launch, now i'm going down in the richlist because I've no more space to plot!!

Plot generation needs many CPU power. My VMs with 2-4 vCPU needs a long time for generate.  A strong dedicated hardware for generating is better.
The Miner has low CPU usage but needs 50MB RAM.

I think raspberry can 2-4 mining jobs handle. An interesting idea 4 miner on a raspberry, that would be very energy efficient.
I can test it here.

The next plots starts at the last position. In your case.
In a new folder on the other HDD, not in the same conf.

900GB are 3510000

With 1 Plot:
start       plot size
1600000  3510000   1000  7

I took out the asterisks around my id number and the parameters after it.  Now my run_generate file looks like this:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 13429957XXXXXXXXXXXX 1 80000 500 4
 pause

I put the 12 X's in place of my ID number.

Now the command line window is generating plots, I guess.  So far it says:

Generating from nonce: 1
Writing from nonce 1
Generating from nonce: 500
Writing from nonce 500
Generating from nonce 1001:
Writing from nonce 1001

And so forth.  I guess I should take out the "pause" in the command line code, or it'll stop once it writes its plot file?  I have mine set to go from 1 to 80000, that is the right size for 20 GB?

IF this works, when I get home I can use larger hard drives.

Blago, what does this URL do?  http://burst.cryptoport.io/

What is that?  What about the number of threads, java vm size, and stagger size?  Is that a way to tune it for peak performance?

Log in to the wallet (with a browser) with your passphrase and in the upper left you will find your "BURST" address.

Hello CryptoSurfer...
http://localhost:8125/burst?requestType=getBalance&account=BURST-XXXXXX (my account of course)
I tried this step but I get this error:
{"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"}

maybe you can explain why?
maybe because the step of creating Plot is not finished yet even if I already started mining?

Many thanks in advance to all can help me.

set your parameters and get config string for generating plots.

Every time I try to go to http://localhost:8125/ , I copy and paste my wallet id number, then bring up notepad to copy and paste my 12 word phrase.  But before I can get it copy and pasted, the site forwards itself to its next page and says I have a new id code.

How do I get it to stay on one and only one wallet id?  I downloaded wallet 1.0.2 on my computer, how do I even use it?

The pause won't do anything, just more of a tool to debug if the bat file close. Your fine to keep the plot generation going. 80,000=20GB, that's right if that's the size plot you want to build.

4096....

You can start mining, run mining bat file. Even while your creating plots, ignore the read error, you'll still be able to get blocks.
