Is a web-based interface possible to use or is it required to download a client?

I just saw this: http://burstcoin.eu/chat

Nice, there was like that on the multipool.

Yes, you can use web chat. Just need to identify yourself. I will be setting up a really nice web client soon as well Smiley

So still thinking about getting into poc, but I'm still rather confused by the process even after reading guides.

Does using more then one GPU increase plot speed? Do you only need one to really do it well? What are the CPU requirements? Can you use a onboard GPU for GPU plotting?

You cannot plot with more than one GPU per plot. You can, however, use two GPUs to plot two plots at once.

You can use multi-GPUs to create a plot. That's good alternative if your GPUs aren't that powerful, eg most nvidia cards are slower than a nice AMD. I use three (nvidia) cards on two separate rigs to plot. You can plot with an onboard GPU too, or combine it with a card.

bensam123, check out https://burstforum.com/index.php?threads/gpu-plot-generator.45/  Smiley

One other thing, would anyone here be willing to run a mailing list for the website? Mailing lists are good for regularly reminding people that we exist, giving them updates, and giving them reasons to get excited about us.  If you don't have any experience here, but want to help, let me know and I can discuss it with you a little bit.  Could even just be once a month give updates, and the occasional update when a big new feature is being released.

Great idea! Perhaps this is something the registered emails on burstforum.com could be used for?

Help needing optimizing plots

Optimizer 30 F:\plots -del 2 -m 3g F:\plots\17160993207923721836_6400000_4000000_40000

and its optimizing however how do I do the other because it says I do not have enough free space total plot I want to do is 2.8TB over 2 plots at 1.4tb each or so on this drive and hdd  is 3TB total. Is their a way to overweight as go along on old plots and not have to delete plots to plot 1.4TB as seems i need 1.4TB free space in order to make optimized plot

Good idea!  Would probably want to send out an initial email asking if they want to be registered.. or maybe simply having a unsubscribe link is enough.

First and foremost, the option after -del should be 0 or 1, not 2. 0 = false and 1 = true. That could solve your problem because I have not had time to add error-checking.

You should be fine on space if 17160993207923721836_6400000_4000000_40000 is the only plot file on your hard drive.  It takes about 1 TB and leaves about 1.7 TB free.  The optimizer will create the optimized file on the drive you specify before it deletes anything.  This means that you need enough space on your hard drive for both the optimized file and the original file unless you output to a second hard drive.

I made a small mistake in the example bat file by specifying 3 GB for RAM.  It will actually use about 4x more RAM than what you specify due to how Windows works.  I may come back to this issue, but my attempt to fix it last time was causing a memory leak (that version was never released).  Make sure you adjust the memory usage accordingly for your system.  I recommend 1-1.5g for the standard 8 GB of RAM on desktops.

Since I started using Blago's miner (good work by the way), I noticed that memory usage stays around the same amount even when not actively looking for a block.  This basically negates the purpose of the delay function and should be taken into account when optimizing.

As a heads up, IGNORE all of timk225's postings from now on.  If you look at his previous posts, you will notice that he is trolling the forums.  I know these types of people and how they look forward to people's reactions.  If you see someone make a comment to one of his posts, remind them to keep ignoring him.  Specifcally, he seems to like trolling mostly on Burst and Cryptcoin.  This implies that these coins have an active community and give a desired response in the shortest amount of time.  If he truly believes that cryptocoins are not going anywhere, then he is in the wrong forum.

Dump this crap coin.

And this coin does have some pretty serious inflation at the moment.. hence the declining prices.  3 million coins are being added to the supply per day.  Meaning it's still at 1% inflation PER DAY.. and I'm sure back then was at far higher than that which I suspect is largely the reason the graph has a definite downward trend.. but give it a few months months or a year and I'm convinced this coin will be pretty big.

even at such inflation , burst still has very small market cap, if burst were to go up 5x in value , it's still under 1 million market cap. I think burst is worth at least a million market cap in long run (Top 25 coin).

If we look at top 25 coins, more than half of them can be traded in many exchange.

We need more exchange (bter , cryptsy) and more PR to increase exposure.

HoboNickels , Pesetacoin , Terracoin , Copperlark and many more crap coin rank higher market cap than burst. Its not hard to conclude burst is undervalue.

Burst will remain undervalue until something came up to boost it back to normal - over value. It could be PR , it could be new unique killer feature which NXT doesn't have , etc.

Burst is only 3 months old (Aug - Nov). It got very good potential

How are you still butthurt over not getting getting your miner to work right?  I'd just assume that an adult would have better things to do than troll every couple weeks and whine over "everyone" laughing at you for selling....guess I'm wrong?

Either way, it's time to grow up buddy.

Personally I'd say that Burst's marketcap right now is approximately $ 134,179 * 2,158,812,800/318,578,694 = 909249

In other words, the 'true marketcap' that disregards inflation is approximately $1 million.. or at least that's how I see it.  Not sure what the inflation on other coins up there is.

I agree if we get on BTER, we're going to see a leap of maybe 3 times the price.. so far I think most people see us as just a Nxt clone.

But I think there are a few key points to the algorithm that give it significant advantages over Proof of Stake. But personally I'm convinced that you can't trim the blockchain in a trustless way that still allows new miners and people wanting to view the blockchain to look at it without downloading the whole thing.

The way i see it is using only current market cap not considering max coin because that is too far away and calculation become less accurate with increase timeline.

Also, ur calculation did not factor in time it takes to reach max coin for your "true market cap". If u do that , u have to factor in USD inflation rate (purchase power) and price of BTC and perhaps other element which i am not aware of (e.g change of coin specs in the future to reduce supply , etc)

Therefore , using only current market cap is simple and more accurate in short term (~ 6 months - 12 months ?). True market cap now is $ 134,179.

I still remember the good times for alt coin where new coin went up to millions in less than a month (2013 - Q1,Q2 2014)

Not sure if boom time for alt will be back soon. If so, at least 1 million market cap is a very reasonable guess for burst.

Alt coin generally did very bad for second half of this year (bitcoin too). Hopefully we can see turn around first half of next year.

tex81 any chance of adding support for pool http://burst.ga/ in your status tool thx.
No. I don`t know if there is a plain-text stats page. It`s out of my skill.
I hope that the developers of that kind of pools someday will add separate pages with statistics on each account. Something, that will look like http://burst.ga/userstats/123456789123456789 and contain single account stats.

Think the best thing needed, imo, is a GUI plotter and miner for noobs and wide distribution, so anyone can mine with their hds easily and quickly.

3 clicks, 1.plot 2.mine 3.profit

Right side of this is a good feel for gui too.

Since it's based on NXT, are you going to have some NXT functionality such as assets etc. ?
