It seems to me that changing BURST over to a Storj type solution changes it from PoC to PoB - Proof of Bandwidth. I believe these are two different concepts that should probably stay separate at the core. To put it in perspective, I have a 65Mbit download and 6Mbit upload broadband connection. I can tell you that I really do not want to use all of my Upload bandwidth to mine (share hard drive space for actual storage), on top of giving up my precious hard drive space.
I am not saying that Storj does not make sense (I am actually in on the Early Access of it), but it is a different concept that I do not think needs to be intertwined with the BURST concept completely.
Anyone who says that hard drive mining is no good without being able to actually use the storage to store data, should probably not be mining at all. Look at Bitcoin/GPU coins/any other coins...none of them are really using their potential or really benefiting anything except mining alone.
Let me know when there is an alt-coin that is GPU only and the GPUs are actually used for massive distributed graphic processing of something useful (CAD drawings, cracking passwords, etc). Maybe there is one but I guess I am not aware...? The concept is the same with Hard Drive Mining.
Storj isn't PoB.

Such a feeling. One of the most innovative project since DarkCoin. Can't belive BURST is quite cheap as well. Pretty frustrating.

I have 50TB and i can not even get 12K per day. (No matter the pool i am using) I ran into a similar problem recently... seems to be corrected when I reboot (verified over three reboots, now.) I haven't figured out why yet, doesn't seem to be clockskew or the drives getting slower the longer the system is up... dcct-miner on Ubuntu Trusty I see same thing... used wplotgenerator.exe and blago's miner. If I don't reboot daily, I can go for days without finding a block with 54TB

Hi all, I am having an issue with wplotgenerator, I'm hoping someone is able to provide some advice.
I am plotting with an i7 4770k, I am able to reach 10,000-12,000 nonces/min without overclocking. My issue is that the plotter will start plotting in that range and then start dropping to 5,000 nonces/min, then 3,000 nonces/min, all the way down to around 700 nonces/min. This problem used to only happen once in a while but now I am having to restart the plotter every 20-30 minutes to stay in the 10k nonces/min range.
Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone find a way to keep it stable? I am running windows 8.

I have just published Burst.Today version 1.6, and its looking very promising. I have resolved the main issues with setting the reward recipient, and added several features for debugging. This new version points to the updated burstforms pool (burst.ga:8124) , which has been through many changes since I worked on this last. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to test it out fully, I'm sure there are a few bugs left to chase down. I could really use some feedback on it, if any of you brave souls would be willing to give it a try and give me your thoughts I would be thankful! Instructions and downloads are at: www.burst.todayDiscussion thread is at: https://burstforum.com/index.php?threads/burst-today-v1-6-released-windows-ui-for-burst-mining.356/Regards, BTR

This is exactly the kind of thing we need more of.. not brave enough to risk trying it out myself and risk it overwriting something until it is well established though. And just in general.. not a fan of closed source when it comes to crypto stuff because I'm worried it might try to steal my passwords. Maybe I'm paranoid though.

(win7 64bit)

Right now there's my project ( BLTPS) which uses Cloud Mining already and will also start paying investors sooner than expected. It isn't HDD based, but who knows in the future!? I think is a little too early to start talking about big investments in cloud infrastructure. I could even build a 1 PB server and start selling shares, but what would happen if, for some reason Burst fails? not only to me or the server, but also to the investors!? It's not like I'm saying this shouldn't be done or Burst will fail! I'm one of those investing quite a lot, so don't misunderstand me. I'm just saying that the risks linked to a new coin have to be weighted, that's why I've started with something on a small scale, able to scale up easily and "mutable" like BLTPS project is. As far as the "site" way of distributing and promoting the initiative, let's just say that, concerning BLTPS, I'll be developing more features as the project scales up but right now I'm fine the way it is, because it is also showing an alternative ways of using the Asset Exchange embedded in Burst.

I can't get this working I have a weird error that pops up when I try to run the pocminer.
Error: Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'\CurrentVersion'
I found the problem tho you have to have Java 7 to make this work it doesn't look like its compatible with the newest Java 8 yet.

plotting uses ram . try
1) not to run anything while plotting
2) check ram consumption and core consumption ( if some software uses cores they slow down wplot)

Burst.Today is completely open source, written in VB.NET and posted on GitHub. From the Burst.Today website menu at the top, go to Souce codes, and there are links to the source codes for the Burst.Today UI and Launcher applications. The application installs to C:\Burst.Today\ so as long as you're not using that folder it shouldn't mess with any existing installs.

Is there any profitability calculator out of there?
Have you considered to integrate this into a Torrent client? Including someking of Proof of Bandwith?
