Dear joelao95 Can I install only one wallet qt on ubuntu, and 5 servers running minerd to connect to this 1 wallet? Thanks. [A guide for VPS mining]Setting Amazon AWS up is not that much different from VPS. Here is a reference; notice this is for GPU spot instance ( http://aloysius.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/is-mining-litecoins-on-aws-ec2-profitable-part-2-gpu-mining/) A conversation about setting up wallet & cpuminer: 1) Sign up for an account. If you like, use my referral link, and support this project too. Input a name for the vps, Select Size (all types work), Select image: Debian 7.0 x64; all others default, then click Create Droplet. 2) You will receive an email about login info, typically to login the system 3) Once you login, copy and paste following commands (magi is username, use any else you like) follow instructions to edit the section: ## User privilege specification root ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL magi ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL 3) exit and ssh again with 4) Upgrade and install packages: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install build-essential libboost-all-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev libminiupnpc-dev git sudo apt-get install gfortran sudo apt-get install libgmp-dev 5) this is needed if you choose the minimum size during VPS creation sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=64M count=16 sudo mkswap /swapfile sudo swapon /swapfile 6) run magi wallet cd git clone https://github.com/magi-project/magi cd magi/src make -f makefile.unix Create a conf file which should be in the folder: ~/.magi (magi is the user we created) cd ~/.magi emacs magi.conf emacs is text edit tool, use any you like. save the following content: daemon=1 server=1 rpcport=18232 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=rpcuser rpcpassword=rpcpass The last command runs the daemon. 7) compile cpuminer cd git clone https://github.com/magi-project/magi-minerd ./autogen.sh CFLAGS="-O3 -march=native -mtune=native" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -march=native -mtune=native" ./configure make Edit magi-minerd.sh in case you need to change something, and "--threads 1" to change the number of threads to run the miner.

Why, all we need is a windows build not linux only.

here is another back-up solution if Dev failed to release win miner on launch; just build a linux sytem within windows system. things needed; oracle virtual box; ubuntu (linux OS) 1. Download oracle virtual box here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html2. download ubuntu (linux OS) here : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop3. install oracle virtual box 4. install ubuntu(linux OS) inside the oracle virtual box that pretty much give u a linux system within the windows system; am not familiar with linux but at least you have back up solution if XMG dont have win miner on launch

lol, the funny thing is that before he wanted that everybody has the miner on launch, and with that piece of algo crap (seriously a fortran routine, like if the c++ counterpart didn't exist ), we end up with what Catia is good at: making stuff which doesn't compile on windows (yeah... that's what you get for free ) ps: And to be honest, I am always suspicious when someone writing gpu miner is making "cpu only" algo (that's sound fishy...)

You should not launch the coin before we have working windows miner, that's my humble opinion.

Aye but that would give everyone a fair opportunity, something rarely seen on launches cause the devs simple dont want it. They have X amount of servers already waiting and they want the most $$$ out of them.

No windows miner at the moment, i guess you see it 1 week after launch or something. Seriously this coin been announced long ago and there is no ready to go miner yet, things usually turns out like this when A: the DEV cant compile and release a windows miner or.. B: the DEV simply dont want there to be a windows miner upon launch Dev started looking for someone to do it for him in this thread a few hours prior to launch, awesome planning i must say. Why even compile a windows miner when you can have 1000 desperate retards eager to mine this willingly clicking your digitalocean refferal link?

I already asked some days ago... no answer... DEV cant do it himself or dont want to, i dont think he want to - if he did he would have looked for someone to help him long ago. Perhaps some awesome member of BTT throws one up for us...!?
