Fantastic developments going on around here and now we have a ... New Windows XMG Magi Mining Software ReleaseI wanted the fastest possible Windows miner. I thought I could do even better than before but got bogged down in details. So I contacted the Vulcans for their purely logical take on things, but they just kept on muttering about the High Council having decreed that time travel was impossible so no joy there. I tried using The Force, but was tempted by the Dark Side and had to turn back. Finally I had a word with a young bespectacled boy who taught me how to use a birch twig. I waved it about in front of my compiler, shouted "Gofasteramus" and there was this bright flash of blue light with smoke everywhere. When the smoke had cleared, I had a newer, faster generic minerd.exe which needed no dll files at all plus two even faster minerd.exes to support CPUs with the AVX and AVX2 instruction sets. Whoa that's a result So, armed with these and the 32 bit miner, plus the fact we now have 6 mining pools to choose from, it was time to re-write the entire support suite. I have now included all the 32 bit and 64 bit stuff in one package. The new autominer will support up to 8 mining pools and spread your hashing power among them if you want. It will auto-detect your CPU and version of Windows and select the appropriate minerd.exe for you. It has never been easier. The new software is available now on the usual links. Please note that the 32 bit and 64 bit versions are now one and the same thing, but I have maintained all the old links for compatibility, only changing the names to protect the innocent. Full package:- .rar https://www.dropbox.com/s/hiadf8o5u7bsit7/XMGpoolminerWin64.rar?dl=0.rar https://www.dropbox.com/s/dii8cvz7lp8xuey/XMGpoolminerWin32.rar?dl=0.zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/6hmlajdp0qgmcfi/XMGpoolminerWin64.zip?dl=0.zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/rwb4xvkv15kpol1/XMGpoolminerWin32.zip?dl=0self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default) https://www.dropbox.com/s/dw7yjssjrrqp0m1/XMGpoolminerWin64.exe?dl=0self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default) https://www.dropbox.com/s/qlak24sxn6ookaz/XMGpoolminerWin32.exe?dl=0Minerd binaries only:- .rar https://www.dropbox.com/s/q8puq9w6uc240mx/Spexx-Win64-generic-XMGminerd.rar?dl=0.rar https://www.dropbox.com/s/5nikel2wglhpsrk/Spexx-Win32-generic-XMGminerd.rar?dl=0.zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/o8i726sxnwe2wxa/Spexx-Win64-generic-XMGminerd.zip?dl=0.zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/ti8rnetlqmin4t1/Spexx-Win32-generic-XMGminerd.zip?dl=0self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default) https://www.dropbox.com/s/uudj2npeyixesjb/Spexx-Win64-generic-XMGminerd.exe?dl=0self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default) https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8mjcrxavgnfalu/Spexx-Win32-generic-XMGminerd.exe?dl=0New link - Setup only - it downloads the rest for you - disable your anti-virus first.self-extracting .exe (extracts to C:\XMGminer by default) https://www.dropbox.com/s/re3bp3oem4uh31w/XMGminer-Win-Setup.exe?dl=0This last link contains only two files, Setup.bat and wget.exe. Download, extract and run Setup.bat. Simples. This new package does not over-write your Myminer.bat file, nor any minerd.exe or dlls in the installation folder. It is fully compatible with your existing Myminer.bat file and will run up just the way it did before, only better. To gain the full benefits from this release, you will need to run the Setup.bat which creates a new Myminer.bat file for you. Now because some anti-virus software dislikes stuff like wget.exe and minerd.exe, you will probably need to disable your anti-virus temporarily to allow the installation to proceed unhindered, then add an exception in the anti-virus to ignore the mining software in future. Other than that, it ought to work like a dream. Any problems, then please report here and I will try to advise. Don't just tell me you "get an error" - be specific or I might just ignore you There is a whole lot more that I should be telling you, but you don't want to read this - you want to get on and have a play with the new software don't you? Go ahead - make my day

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Wonderful to read about MagiPay! Widespread use could be accelerated if (in time) MagiPay would offer a Magento extension ( http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/ ) so magento store owners could easily integrate and activate MagiPay in their webshops. The same would count for a Joomla and WP extension of course.

I have had an old Pentium 32 bit machine hashing away on Hashhot for a while at 1.5 Kh/s. It just paid me 10 XMG. Now that is why I like to spread my hashpower around folks! You know it makes sense I love this coin

The same would count for a Joomla and WP extension of course. I'll put suggestions in the to-do list. We've scheduled PLAN #1 which will come with the basic functionality. The further development could lead to optional PLAN #2 which includes advanced features; we're gathering suggestion as to what these feature will be. The currency (BTC or fiat)-XMG inclusion can be done straightforward in my view, but will need a certain amount of funds to fulfill the trading, as decided to be PLAN #3. Except PLAN #1, the timing is yet to be finalized.

Well massive improvements today on the volume of exchanges. Magi is known for much more than markets, stay tuned as more campaigns like Proof of Honor, Proof of Mining, and Proof of Giveaways go viral.
In developments: Magi has put together an accurate mining model made to benefit larger for fighting off high hash power botnets, and rewards as more miners come into the picture with m7m.
ToR Wallet is available for those who want to remain anonymous when using Magi as payments.
Tons more activities; lots to back up the community and progress!

I have two questions: Which is the best linux mining appz for now?
The linux mining efficiency basically relies on compiling (we don't have binary miners release for linux). Here is the code: https://github.com/noncepool/m7magi-cpuminer-v2Actually I am unaware of significant difference in efficiency between different compiling processes. ex33s is more experienced on this matter than me and may have the opinions. I have two questions: Who can remember with exchange listed Magi after it turned M7M algo?I have transfer some to it but I can remember which We have M7M from beginning, or you're asking the hard fork after which we turned into M7M v2. Bittrex and Poloniex came after the hard fork.

The answer to that is a definite "no", or more accurately "possibly but only with extreme difficulty". The core technology in these cards is based on pre-MMX instruction sets, so they do not support SSE, let alone AVX instruction sets and cannot be used directly like regular CPUs to perform the type of calculations required by XMG Magi. In essence, you can think of these cards as being similar to a GPU card with a large number of simple processors. You need software written to work with them and Intel's proprietary compiler to build something that will run. These cards appear to the operating system as a PCIe device, not a CPU, so code written to run on a CPU will not go anywhere near the card. They are great for things that benefit from parallel processing power, but the XMG algorithm is highly resistant to parallelism (as I understand it).

Ignore the Magitor for this moment, I will be looking into that. The regular wallet should be working fine: http://www.coinmagi.org/files/magi-release/win32_magi_v1.1.0.2.zipv1.1.0.2 is no major difference from v1.1.0.1 except nodes fixing. I have alternatively run 1.1.0.1 and 1.1.0.2 with the same block data, so I am not sure of solution "Error loading Blockindex.dat". To confirm if this is something because of the block chain, will need painful launch from scratch then. But instead of delete all block data, simply rename the fold "Magi" (windows %appdata%\Magi) to something else, and then fire up the wallet. I simply renamed blkindex.dat to blkindex.dat.backup and renamed blk0001.dat to blk0001.dat.backup, then fired-up the 1.1.0.2 wallet. It sync-ed up again no problems in under an hour. Doing stuff like this could get to be nasty though, as the blockchain reaches bigger proportions over time. I have in mind to start making an archive of XMG blockchain snapshots which might come in useful sometime. The new blkindex.dat file is slightly larger than the one I backed up, which is expected. Curiously though, the new blk0001.dat file is a fair bit smaller than the one I backed up. Just an observation. The newer wallet is running just fine and already mined some POS money for me (I love the steady drip, drip, drip). Back to testing and coding for me now. I have a good strong cup of tea here. I'm gonna need it Imagine when magi Tor is full speed in motion for anonymous ? I can't wait for that.
