I have about 15k, I am thinking about buying more Smiley
But first, does anyone know about how much the 15k will stake for? I've had my wallet open for about the past 15 hours so far (since I got on the NET train/bought it) and my weight is 17503 as of 2:19 AM PST time

Any help or screenshots would be appreciated.

I have a lot being held in my wallet so i stake a good bit, to try and distinguish what a low amount of 15,000 would stake would be a bit complex for me, I stake them in large amounts only. However I do know they have a detailed list of the payouts and brackets thruout this thread.

By all means, load up, especially at these bargain-basement prices.
15,000 NET earns 20%PA, until July 2015.  Thereafter, the rate changes to 30%PA, until July 2016, before falling to 24% thereafter.

All details may be found at the White Paper.

HARD FORK: MANDATORY UPGRADE OF ALL NETCOIN WALLETS

HARD FORK WILL OCCUR AT BLOCK: 530000
ESTIMATED TIME/DATE OF FORK: 2nd March 2015

POS DIFFICULTY HAS BEEN UPDATED.

Netcoin was experiencing some issues with the timing of POS blocks.  They have now been set to 2 minutes (POW will remain at 1 minute).  This was an absolute necessary upgrade and why we are hard forking.

OTHER FEATURES ADDED TO THE WALLET

Added theme switching and made some customized themes
Added Personal Investment Rate (PIR) calculator
Added More stores that accept NET as payment and updated the existing stores/exchanges.
POW Statistics updates automatically
Stake For Education (S4E) added
Minor bug fixes

Netcoin (version 2.3.0) is now released and MANDATORY wallet upgrades are available to download from the front page of the foundation website (netcoinfoundation.org) The changes are already live on GitHub in the master repository. This update is mandatory and involves a hard fork on block 530000 which will happen roughly at GMT on the 2nd of March.

The aim of the new version is multi-faceted. First, we wanted to update the timing of POW vs POS. When PIR + OWI was implemented back in July, Netcoin went through a few weeks of blockchain lag, and despite smoothing out recently, we wanted to ensure the continued stability and security of Netcoin. Meee and JK (and several others) have spent countless hours analyzing block times, testing, and debating on what course of action to take, and running various scenarios based on several courses of action.

We debated about dropping POW...but after analyzing the potential outcomes, we felt keeping POW (at this time) was only to NETCOINS's benefit to increase the security/stability of the coin. with POW and POS running, an attack would require a 51% takeover of BOTH the POW and POS. The best possible solution was chosen and we have spent the last several weeks running this on the testnet in various forms to gather as much data as possible.

After block 530000 the following changes will come into effect.
Block time for POW will remain at 1 minute.
Block time for POS is increased to 2 minutes.

Is anyone else having troubles withdrawing/depositing BTC from BTER?? or are they a scam-exchange site?

EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like they are a semi-new exchange site and they haven't gotten everything up yet, plus with a lot of BTC stolen from them

The netcoind issue was resolved earlier btw and we have now finished the mac wallets... We're just working on the linux qt's at the mo and should have them up soon... Please make sure you upgrade before block 530000. New windows wallets are up and it fixed the slight bug with the themes not giving you a default on first run.

Other than that all is looking good. Looking forward to seeing how POS is running after the hard fork... If you go to debug->console and type in getinfo you should see the POW and POS difficulty. you will notice at present the POS difficulty follows the POW difficulty. It shouldn't do that. After the hard fork this issue should be fixed and it should run much smoother (as in more POS blocks created).

We'll continue to work away on it though and we have some big plans for the future Smiley

Don't forget to try out the stake for education feature...

The NETCOIN EDUCATIONAL TRUST address is

nN5MEJR91iCt8B7JJ56V2SCu2hcdTf77Zs

All proceeds will go to NETUCATE... See details here...

Thanks guys enjoy... Smiley
