Sorry for the delay but i released v2.5.1. This update will disconnect the older nodes and there will be a change to the PoS diff retageting after block 1345000. Please remove the addnodes in the conf file if there are any and delete the peers.dat. If you have issues connecting try these addnodes: addnode=84.105.200.241 addnode=89.154.0.37 addnode=50.107.86.75 addnode=68.224.238.173 addnode=83.240.176.25 addnode=73.214.14.51 If you shutdown the old wallet before block 1344639 you should be good and just sync up but after you need to remove the chain and redownload or use a backup/snapshot. I recently compiled the latest releases (tried tar.gz of v2.5 and directly cloning from git repo) on my Odroid U2 using Linaro Ubuntu (Berkeley DB 5.3.15, December 19, 2011). The first time I start the Netcoin daemon, everything is fine. But when I restart the Netcoin daemon using "./netcoind stop" (checking that it was stopped successfully using Linux CMD "ps") followed by "./netcoind", the Netcoin daemon is always crashing with the following exception: ************************ EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error init_blockindex(): error opening database environment IO error: lock /home/odroid/.netcoin/txleveldb/LOCK: already held by process netcoin in msghand
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): init_blockindex(): error opening database environment IO error: lock /home/odroid/.netcoin/txleveldb/LOCK: already held by process When I delete the entire content of the netcoin directory in "/home/odroid/.netcoin" and start the Netcoin daemon, everything works fine and the chain is synchronizing. Whenever I need to restart the Netcoin daemon, I'm getting the error described above, I need to delete the entire directory content in "/home/odroid/.netcoin" and I need to download the entire blockchain again. Other coins are working like a charm on my Odroid but not Netcoin, so I think it's a problem with Netcoin Did the older Netcoin versions had this issue aswell or did it start after a certain update? Also see you are using Berkeley DB 5.3 Netcoin uses BDB 4.8 V2.5 is the first Version I tried on my Odroid. I compiled V2.5.1 today using BDB 4.8: odroid@odroid-server:/usr/local/bin$ grep DB_VERSION_STRING /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.8/include/db.h #define DB_VERSION_STRING "Berkeley DB 4.8.30: (April 9, 2010)" Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error Not sure why you having this issue and why it holds a process to be honest. I have a daemon running on Ubuntu 16.04 VM but works without error and i can't seem to reproduce it. Anyone else having this issue with the daemon? V2.5 is the first Version I tried on my Odroid. I compiled V2.5.1 today using BDB 4.8: odroid@odroid-server:/usr/local/bin$ grep DB_VERSION_STRING /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.8/include/db.h #define DB_VERSION_STRING "Berkeley DB 4.8.30: (April 9, 2010)" Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error sorry folks maybe i'm goin full retard but how is that my win wallet is LDB (since v2.4), and your linux one is BDB ? is it supposed to be soo different ? odroid is a single board pc like a rasp pi isn't it? are these arm? i suspect that they haven't got the latest linux build as it should only be level db now not berkeley LevelDB and BerkeleyDB are 2 different things. LDB is used to store part of the chaindata and BDB is used as a dependency required by the code. Most newer coinbase coins have the option to build the daemon with disabled wallet then BDB isn't used but Netcoin doesn't have that feature yet so it needs both to compile.

I've now added the Bitcoin-Launchpad-Repository to my apt-get sources and installed BDB 4.8.30 again. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the same error. I'll try a previous version in the next days. Maybe I can find a version that works (but I want use POS ). As I already stated previously, I also tried other coins (Bitgem/BTG, Sprouts/SPRTS, GPUcoin/GPU and BitcoinDark/BTCD) without any error.

Bittrex have raised daily requirement to 0.3btc a day... i think by december they are aiming for 0.4btc per coin to stay listed... we might face a delisting again unless more volume. Wish poloniex would pick it up as more exchanges means more cross exchange volume. Have others put a request in to poloniex?

Thing is: No one on 2.3.1 has any idea what's going on unless by Chance they visit the Website. There is a lot of 2.3.1 out there and this not going to turn out good... Why no message like other coins have?

Why no message like other coins have? I think only a few coins like litecoin etc say version out of date. In crypto most people assume they follow the coin homepages. This could be done better but im not sure its a responsibility of the dev. Since communities are small most talk to their fellow users. Join the netcoin forum and recommend it as a change for future wallets to this problem? my wallet now has 29 connections. To the person with 4 before do you only have addnodes in your config and not connect=? connect makes it connect only to those.

@ Dev-team; see above posts re version-upgrade warning.
This should definitely be included in the wallet.
Not only that, but (unless I've missed something) NET lacks a roadmap for future development and eco-system building.
This deficiency really needs to be addressed.

I hope you have all updated to the new wallet guys, we still have plenty of time left though, and just to let you know I have updated the wallet with the windows netcoind and I have built both with the latest ssl 1.0.1i, so you may like to update again, it's not mandatory though. But I would advise it for your own peace of mind...
New wallet is operating normally. Synchronization passed fairly quickly. PoS works okay too. The only thing that is not happy is the price at Netcoin.

Doubtful. A pump is not an indication of a coins success or age. A pump is a controlled coordinated attempt to suck money out of people by rapidly raising a price and having greedy people jump on the train hoping to get a profit along the way. There are few non hyper inflated pos coins around. Netcoins strength is the low cpu stake and forget wallet with rewards each 6 hours. No real competing on block sizes etc. What it needs is more integration in websites and word of mouth from users. Its @18 satoshi on bittrex now but in its past days was in the 200's.. spiked to 600 in silly pumps. I hope it returns to 100 sat but cannot promise it. It could go to 0 just as likely. However at the current price range with its stake mechanism its a fun coin thats easy to buy in batches that a site could use in their services to drive a money economy. Something to think about for people looking to use it.

V2.5 is the first Version I tried on my Odroid. I compiled V2.5.1 today using BDB 4.8: odroid@odroid-server:/usr/local/bin$ grep DB_VERSION_STRING /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.8/include/db.h #define DB_VERSION_STRING "Berkeley DB 4.8.30: (April 9, 2010)" Unfortunately, I'm still getting the error sorry folks maybe i'm goin full retard but how is that my win wallet is LDB (since v2.4), and your linux one is BDB ? is it supposed to be soo different ? odroid is a single board pc like a rasp pi isn't it? are these arm? i suspect that they haven't got the latest linux build as it should only be level db now not berkeley No chance... I reinstalled the entire system and updated to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS but still getting the error for v2.5 and 2.5.1: ************************ EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error init_blockindex(): error opening database environment IO error: lock /home/odroid/.netcoin/txleveldb/LOCK: already held by process netcoin in msghand
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): init_blockindex(): error opening database environment IO error: lock /home/odroid/.netcoin/txleveldb/LOCK: already held by process I also tried previous versions but either I'm unable to compile them (syntax error) or I'm getting an segmentation fault when starting the daemon. So, no chance to run Netcoin on my Odroid

I haven't kept up myself up to date on NET for months now so I thought I'd check in and see what's happening.
Can someone tell me what the devs are currently working on regarding the NET platform?
Thanks.
