Honestly i do not get what some of you guys are up to  Huh

fluffypony didn't do anything wrong, if you believe twitter posts, America will be great again.

Just cool down a bit, and let the tech do it's job. In terms of speculation, this was an ordinary pump and dump driven by lending and some guys who took out their profits. Take a look at all other coins, which really were pumped like hell without, and that is my opinion, any usecase at the moment speaking. I don't see any darkmarket accepting ETH or BCN.

In the long term XMR is going to be a good investment in the future, just stay on the path, your original thoughts and strategy  Grin

Agreed.  Plenty of worse and far more reckless things have been said on Twitter of late.  Perspective is important.

I don't fundamentally disagree that the tech is more important than investors.  I am personally not at all upset.

However, I can see some people who have supported this through thick and thin are a little pissed off.  For them, it's one thing to not care, it's a step further show it having a joke around at their expense.

A note to everyone jumping onboard for a pump and dump: Monero doesn't do that.  If you dump, you will probably find yourself coming back later, only to find your next buy to be half the size of your last buy.

This seems funny in retrospect. Or sad, depending on whether people took your advice or not.

This is Cryptocurrency. This is absolute Wild West. Dude owes you Nothing.

If a crypto gangster kidnapped his wife and locked her up in a Fritzl cellar gargling balls all day long, do you think Spagni would rest easy that he didn't owe anybody anything?

Spagni has her picture on his twitter account ffs, who would do this, having done that ... don't nerds like Spagni realise how many gangsters there are in this space, they don't tweet when they're pissed off, they cut off ears and noses.

Bullshit... if that was true BobSurplus would've been killed 10 times over already. And a bunch of other scammers.

For me it is just funny how nearly everbody overlooked the Paxos/Bank news, which are huge.

I think the fact that big european banks like Citi will use their blockchain which incorporates XMR technology is very bullish and speaks a lot about how good the tech is and could help with XMR adoptation and further software development.

XMR has a great future, a trolling action more or less wont change that.

I still don't get what banks will achieve by incorporating decentralized permissionless ledger into a centralized company.  It seems a burdensome database that would be hard to 'cook the books'.  How well could they secure it?

I am very glad the crypto market is self regulating and allows smaller players to play with small amounts of money. I also hope that this stupid prank doesn't give ammunition to TPTB to find an excuse to close our unregulated playground and make the requirements too onerous for exchanges to continue as they are.

Concern trolling in fine form.

If you don't think TPTB have endless excuses to do what they want to the crypto trading playground should they decide to do so, you haven't been around much. This one incident makes no difference whatsoever.

However, I can see some people who have supported this through thick and thin are a little pissed off.  For them, it's one thing to not care, it's a step further show it having a joke around at their expense.

Yeah I agree with that pretty much. My view is speculators gonna speculate. If you don't like it, just ignore it, rather than getting into the mud with them.

If you are a long term holder or contributor to the technology the whole speculator scene affects you little if at all, unless you choose to pay attention to it.

I think I do, was chasing Monero before it was on Polo, I remember when the name was decided.....

XMR or BTC

A little sensible profit taking in both, after nearly five years? About now will be as good a time as any (other than 'too late' time), since if BTC does crash, I will kick myself.  If it doesn't - and if it goes up more after, what I have left in the game will still bring me some benefit.

It's just trying to minimise tax that's the headache...  I have come to the conclusion it's less complicated to just pay up, rather than wait until clever pension stuff is arranged, which I have just found could take longer than the BTC bubble might last.

EDIT: Quote tidy up!

Very true, I only hold and don't day trade because holding has worked out great for me while short term trading (which I tried briefly) has only reduced my holdings but I do follow the current developments and charts and yesterdays proceedings did cause a little nervousness for me.

I have a friend, he only buys and holds and never looks at the charts. Every few month I call him and give him the good news.

Wow... How Zen of you!

I can't even articulate how irritating it is to be told that if we think this will decrease the value of Monero for the next n-months/years it's a problem with the way we think and to ignore the price.

People, get your heads out of the clouds this isn't Philosophy 101, this is real peoples money we are talking about and until we have an entire economy that can run on Monero, we still need fiat and price does matter!
