If Fluffy and the rest of the team despises speculators then why can't they just work under the radar and let the technology speak for itself instead of constantly yacking on twitter and btctalk?

XMR devs aren't required to take vows of silence and live out ascetic existences in monastic conditions.

Fluffy is allowed to have a life, express himself freely, and do what he wants.  Here on Monero Mountain we mustangs and ponies like to have fun (and DRINK).

Your sense of entitlement to control his social media interaction is exactly why he needed to teach you a lesson in “how the cow ate the cabbage.”   Smiley

Fluffy, if you see this, Happy National Wine Day!  Cool

Hope thats a 2004 Barolo.  Cool

Please stop trying to make him out to be some kind of a martyr, or a savior of anything!

This is starting to sound more and more like a cult, and you've been convinced that the only thing that will save your mortal soul is to drink this koolaid! Or maybe we should use the "Burn the Witch" analogy?  Again, with the idea that somehow burning someone alive is good for them! Because Satoshi or FluffyPony or someone else knows what's best for all of us because the rest of us are all too stupid to know our own minds. And you keep preaching the mantra that basically the "followers of Monero must be cleansed and those found not worthy shunned for the good of the chosen few"!

I've seen more crap in this forum from people that I thought had a head on their shoulders, than I ever expected.  I've been told because I do a very small amount of day or swing trading where 95% of the time I'm adding liquidity to the market, that somehow I am stealing from others, or somehow manipulating the market... that's crazy!

It appears to me that those of you who hold the most Monero don't want it to be distributed to a larger group. Isn't a "fair distribution" a key element of a NON-Scam coin? And more importantly, if we don't get significant participation from a larger group then this just becomes one big circle jerk!

I understand that now the initial furor has died down a bit, all the good soldiers are going to circle the wagons and protect their "gallant leader" but, don't try to make it sound like he did this for my or anyone else's benefit other than his own!

Fluffy came out of this a hero to everyone who matters.  The useless salty and butthurt freeloaders have self-identified and fucked off to Dash or OneCoin.

This one is better.

Why you would want to characterize Howard Chu like this, I have no idea. As far as I'm aware, his contributions to Monero have been immense. What have you done for Monero except cozy up to FP at every possible opportunity?

Fluffy has really outed a lot of scammy people, by suggesting that FP "scammed" them they are only letting us know subconsciously what they would do if in the same position

So far this is the most interesting discussion on these events where some devs take a critical standpoint to his actions:

Looks like Fluffy has crashed the entire cryptocurrency market Bitcoin included.

I think we all know the market has been in a bubble and something had to pop it. Maybe it's better sooner than later. Less total pain.

In the long term this won't make any difference. If cryptocurrencies makes sense, and none of us doubt that, the market will inevitably recover, and Monero is undoubtedly the most well thought out of them all. Though I am concerned that it will carry for a long time the stigma of having started the whole rout.

Here, sir

And dont understand me wrong, i wanna edit my post.
It not has only fuffly, it was fluffly&friends. They just doublet their money meanwhile someone just lost an aventador here Smiley

0 professionalism

Professionalism is a very poor choice to determine legitimacy of one's character or a project.

Scammers can be professional so that messes up that metric.

People need to remember that Monero is not a business nor is it a company nor does it have a CEO.

Professionalism has very little to do with open source projects.

People need to take responsibility for their own financial choices.

I find this whole fake news stunt from FP extremely irresponsible, immature and downright disrespectful.

At least this line...
"We are Monero, You can hate me, you can ignore the project, but you cannot stop us."

Is so cheesy it's laughable.  Roll Eyes

Monero is a cryptocurrency which focuses on privacy, fungiblity, and security.

With Monero, when you send an amount to another person, nobody can look at the blockchain to determine which account sent the money, the amount of the transaction, or which account it was sent to.

With Bitcoin, when you send an amount to another person, anyone can look at the blockchain to determine which account sent the money, the amount of the transaction, and which account it was sent to.

I don't want to go into a store, pay for an item with Bitcoin, and by so doing let the clerk and world know how much money I have in my account. But that's what happens when Bitcoin is used. That can't happen with Monero.

A lot of credibility has been lost from Monero in my opinion due to first calling Dash a scam publically and then the saga just happened.

I understand there are still some people left holding bags for high prices... Believe me, you feel relieved when you do not need to circle jerk others on the thread to convince not to sell their worthless Moneros.

For a bagholder, if you decide to relieve your bags you can always buy back. Even if you sell at loss, buying back at significiant discount and waiting the dead cat bounce you are probably better off than simply holding your bags that will become lighter and lighter as people are exiting from Monero.

If this was just a joke/satire only by fluffypony and not the team in any way, then why was the official Monero twitter account pushing the fake announcement?

Why did the official account tweet anything but unhyped Consensus information?
