I know it is known Trezor T now fully supports Monero, but this short blog post adds a bit of background information to the whole process. Took more than a year to get developed and tested:

https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-model-t-is-fully-integrated-into-the-official-monero-client-b6f9bd31e7f

For fuck sakes, I just specifically bought a Ledger for XMR.

Only worrisome if you are proned to physical attacks. Unless you are not confident where you live or transact with a Trezor on droid or something, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Or just use a BIP 39 passphrase

I treat Hardware wallets as my private keys. If I lose my Hardware wallet I will as fast as possible empty those wallets to new hardware wallet.  It is that simple.

                 Monero    Bitcoin         Ratio
Jan 2020    257,942   9,612,337   2.68%
Dec 2019   216,720   9,430,057   2.30%
Nov 2019   212,716   9,243,776   2.30%
Oct 2019   179,114   9,892,853   1.81%
Sep 2019   159,225   9,798,992   1.62%

Number of Monero transactions constantly and steadily increase from September while Bitcoins number is almost stable.  If we transplant the % rate into 0.0268BTC we are over $250.

People MUST use the simple password feature of BIP-38 BIP-39.  The ONLY reason i can think of for not using it is it gives you one more point of failure.  In this case you would forget your password.    Other than that it's kinda obviously important.

(I see this has been already broughtup.  But it's so important I think it can be here twice. Smiley

By the way, Monero wallets with the Ledger do support this feature.

One of these days XMR will be the wake up call and be the slap behind BTC's head like how BTC was the wake up call for fiat and the slap behind its head.

Right now let's play the 'XMR is a complement to BTC' game.

You dont need to go 1 year ago. Monero price went in less then a month from $44 to $74. That is close to 80%.

One of these days XMR will be the wake up call and be the slap behind BTC's head like how BTC was the wake up call for fiat and the slap behind its head.

There will be many small slaps. People need to use transparent ledger cryptocurrencies to notice how transparent their life has become.  I cant even speculate if we will see 10 million transaction a month on Monero blockchain in this decade. On one side it seems a lot, on other side things changes so fast that 10 years is almost eternity.

A year is a hell of long time in crypto, 10 years is way over the horizon.  That is a lot of what is exciting about it. Look ten years back?  Extrapolation ten years from now is easier than it was then, but still really hard...

EDIT: But it's a great thought - and no one would be happier than me to see Monero still here and flying every higher.

No disrespect, but I do believe it *is* a compliment.

There is a place for a transparent, absolutely scarce digital asset.

There is a place for an obfuscated, best in class private digital asset with a very minimal constant inflation.

Monero will take it's place, in my opinion.

Yes, there are risks, and competing projects.  But Monero is strong, lindy, cypherpunk.

We are Monero.

Other people are coming.

Fuck yes.

In the heading it says they accept XMR only, but in the second to last alinea they say BTC is optional but discouraged. If true this marketplace will end up like all its predecessors.

Never ordered something on a darkmarket but just can’t imagine doing so with a natively transparant coin. For totally legit purposes I already feel somewhat uncomfortable paying with bitcoin, potentially revealing the money in my pocket and previous transactions. And I select my unspent outputs which likely many on these kind of website users don’t (know how to).

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

I am really happy with where Monero is going these days,,, I guess everyone who has been holding patiently is. Now I know this is just because every coin has been going up the weekend, but the numbers of % of transations to bitcoin really gives us some good feelings after all these months and weeks yes?

Well, since this is the XMR speculation thread - a little positive looking TA which may (or may not) be significant.

The XMR chart has closely followed the shape of the BTC chart lately.  However, there is a little something else that is happening for XMR

This is the XMR one day chart with the 200/50 MA's showing.  These 'death crossed' down in May 2018, post the XMR ATH.

It looks like there will be a 'golden cross' back up any day now, while BTC on the same measure is looking at a longer wait.  This should mean continuing growth of XMR in BTC terms.  A great thing as long as a BTC bull market continues.

Not investment advice (*SOMA in fact) DYOR.

It looks like a one hour chart, and so the meandering is mostly just noise.  BTC has been meandering up and down too, which is the strongest factor in price for XMR over short timescales.  If you set a BTC chart up the same as the one you've posted, it won't look too different.

Sure, we are at a point of indecision...  It's close to the halving, but hasn't kicked off enough to pull BTC over 10K.  Some of the BTC rise has been the Coronavirus 'flight to safety', but the failure to break 10K leaves us on the blocks, tensing and waiting for the starting gun, or the race to be called off.

Short term it's a little will it/won't it?

Looking at the one hour won't tell you much and your MA lines are best set pretty long. 200/50 is a classic, and I like it on the 1 day chart for Monero. With MA's set to be longer term it's better for spotting Golden Crosses, like now...

It is looking reasonably bright.  If BTC does pop over 10K solidly, it will get volatile. But right now Monero is just bored waiting to see what BTC will do - just when it's own Golden Cross is coming.  Hopefully BTC won't spoil it.

The bottom scale is a MACD set to 26/12/9, which gives some clues in advance to movement.
