Anyway, what I wanted to ask is wtf is going on with ZEC?  Lolol.  It's like this one coin having its own alt szn.

This article seems to list some of the reasons they speculate could have led to the Zcash rise from $40 to $400.

I missed it (don't hold any ZEC), but Monero also seems to benefit partly from that privacy coin rally and that's cool. Remember everybody thought XMR was dead in 2024 after the Binance delisting and its fall to almost $100? Well, time proved 'em wrong.

There seem to be some ZEC-specific reasons too (it seems to have been very difficult to use at the start and now it's quite well usable), and some dude has mentioned it on X as a "insurance against Bitcoin".

Yeah, I almost got tempted to ape into ZEC but then some guy on Twitter suggested that I zoom out and look at the chart from the day it got listed...  So yeah, I got it up at Tradingview, switched to monthly then zoomed it out.  

And oh my...  It does this kind of sht when it just goes up out of nowhere every 4 years then goes back down under 100 bucks.  Lol.  I'm like yeah ok, no thanks.  I'm fine with my body's cortisol level rn.    I don't need any more stress than how it currently is with all the sell downs happening.

I don't know much about ZEC in terms of price expectations, but XMR is different, mainly because it has shown consistent prices even after being delisted from certain exchanges and facing privacy crackdowns. The end of the year could be very good for XMR.

The Monero price action during and after the ZCash pump and dump (so far) has been quite healthy.  Doing its own thing mostly. And holding up quite well here as Zcash has been melting down to currently once again below the XMR market cap.

XMR is up over 100% YTD, and at the end of November it closed its highest ever monthly candle approx $435. Back up to #16 on coinmarketcap too.

Not bad for old dog Monero!

Been seeing these guys on Twitter going all out making 'cypherpunk' tweets but then at the end of those tweets they shill ZEC.    These mofos with more than 10k followers might really be crypto n00bs or they just want their pump and dump, move on and keep their stables.  Lol.

Anyway, nice price action for XMR considering that most of the market has been down and flat for the last three months or so.  What exchanges still accept Monero besides Kraken?

Well, on a day that is otherwise mixed for all of the field of shit coins out there.... as well as a day that seems to be a little bit of upside for the glorious bitcoin...

Monero seems to just be monerowing right along. And today it seems to have somehow regained spot 16 in the dubious coin market cap list.

And to that point, I think this is interesting because Monero is not playing any of the tricks to do well on that metric, like having trillions of coins minted or other shenanigans that make your project look more valuable than it is.

But it continues to be used and has (thanks to its black sheep status) become much harder to manipulate on the part of the exchanges.

I would need to do some math to know if I'm reading it wrong, but it also seems to me that it continues to break correlation with pretty much everything else in the crypto world.

I personally think it still has significant real potential, unlike almost every other shit coin.

I know, what's up with that. Definitely a coordinated effort to fund these guys: mid-level Twitter influencers who made a brand on Bitcoin but are now suddenly in the unjustifiable depths of shitcoinery, and they all happen to like the same shitcoin: ZEC.

Some of the same self-professed cypherpunks were even criticizing XMR for not having VC funding. Needless to say they can safely be ignored at this point.

I personally think it still has significant real potential, unlike almost every other shit coin.

Its already done far better than most people ever expected in that regard, myself included.
