They don't have the money to sue him either.
Maybe soon they will, if they got some BTC left and the price keeps going up like crazy. I'm already hoarding popcorn. Didn't giga say that he will not accept any more claims and keep those for himself after some date? Maybe he doesn't have enough btc to pay everyone after BFL delays, difficulty increase (see Amazingrando problems) or whatever. He will try everything for not to pay if that's the case.

It's said that I need to go to US Embassy for the notary if I want to claim my shares. And the cost is $50, Right? Who will cover the cost? The customer? James? Or both of them?
That's cheap! In the UK I had to pay £115 which works out at around $175 At the US embassy? Not sure if you're being serious but the answer is no. It had to be sent to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to be apostille stamped. This is a very rare request and is the reason for the high cost. Of course I'm being serious as I have it done myself at the US embassy here.

I still have the opinion that what Giga is doing with this verification claims process is scammy. It forces people to do stunts to claim them back, making for some people near impossible. And lots of information i DO NOT want to give out. Tax identification number -> Social security number. Photocopies of identification. All the items required for identity theft. Even tho that's not the reason gigamining is doing this, i somehow doubt he has top notch security in place to avoid that data being stolen. Again no thanks. Notarized affidavit: Yeah... I do want to explain to goverment officials wtf is this, and what that paper will stand for, never mind that complication, it costs a lot here. All of this *BULLSHIT* means all he wanted to do was get rid of as many of us as possible for his own gain. is that asset list SHA256 in format of: [email][address] ie: email@address.com1CAF5612CHMHU... or [email] [address] or [email][enter][address] ?

Just a note, I just got my paperwork through after a few weeks of problems. Sitting in my newly created account was approx .54 BTC reserved for me. I only had 3 shares of gigamining, but getting that paid for the time and money I spent getting things notarized.
Again, thanks for providing this service.

It's what I proposed from day 1, when this scam started, and no one make a step ahead. They are good just to cry here like babies. Of course then scammers gonna scam

Can you explain me why you would actually pay (paid upgrade) to do further business with a person that acts like that and showed he doesnt care for you?
I've lost a lot by backing gigavps, really a lot, I wish that I could just wash my hands of it but the paid upgrade may be the only way to have a chance to recoup some of my losses, I shall decide at the time - around the end of next week hopefully, it will be purely an expected profit vs potential additional loss decision & I'm assuming that most of the aggravation & cost will finally start to show some fair return - maybe I'm being a fool, time will tell. Just out of curiosity, how did all that work out for you?

@bixcoin, as stated in detail earlier in this thread, I paid about €150 for the docs, once that was done I was immediately paid all back dividends from 2012 10 08 up to my claim of 2013 02 25 which was 245 btc on 1,530 shares (bought mostly for between 1 & 1.5 btc), I then took up gigavps's recommendation to make an early upgrade to teramining which cost me 382.50 btc for 22,950 shares & this stopped the dividend payments from gigamining, due to BFL delay with shipping ASICs everything seems to be on hold but Gigavps has stated on March 25th that he will compensate all those who have missed dividends due to taking his early upgrade path, so far I estimate that I'm owed over 40 btc up to next Monday. I think that he should abandon the, obviously failed, early upgrade plan & right now just pay out everyone's gigamining dividends up to date & until BFL deliver as he is still mining with this equipment we bought for him (in my case nearly 7 week's worth), in order to show some goodwill & fairness to those who have financed his ongoing operations, or it just feels like yet another exploitation of investors by smart operators in the mining field, don't even ask me about Youchdog's Bitcoin Mining Company. bixcoin thanks for asking, in summary I am down an additional 137.50 btc that I gave to gigavps for the upgrade to teramining (along with the 245 btc back dividends that I returned to him to go towards the upgrade cost), plus the time & cost of the claim, plus about 40 btc owed in dividends from gigamining due to the failed early switch scheme, so overall it's not really working out so great for me atm. 137.50 + 40 btc = 177.50 btc @ $120 = $21,300 or actually 382.50 + 40 btc = 422.50 @ $120 = $50,700

Otoh, i also have a large amount of shares, and want to know how to proceed. I cannot pay the current BTC required for upgrade and its just a silly amount.
I bought 900 shares pre-IPO and have stuck with James for over a year now. He needs to be competing with ASICMINER and others, i am not really willing to stump up even 10's of BTC for an upgrade when as you say our coin paid for the hardware in the first place. We should be getting profit, not worrying about getting our coin from the upgrade fee back within the tiny duration of the initial outlined TERAMINING contract.
I do hope he comes through and gives a really competitive free upgrade option. I also think 1 year should be minimum for the contract length, and upto 2 years if he is asking for more money.

Well yes we can hope so & also there is nothing to prevent someone loaning you the coins for the upgrade to Teramining if they trust you or you can escrow sufficient value of some form, then splitting any extra dividends above what you'd have received from Gigamining, or in whatever % you agree, unfortunately I'm btc poor atm.

OK this is just getting plain ridiculous, has anyone heard anything from BFL as to anything closely resembling something that can be considered an ASIC?

I am talking about shipping something that gets better then 1000 m/mhash to people who purchased such as giga.
