well i hope they don't remove this one because this is the only one i got to earn money online i have tried many things like captcha typing, humanatic, referral, PTC and PPT
but i haven't earned any dollars but instead i just wasted time
the signature campaign is really a big opportunity and a very good sideline because the benefit of it is really helpful to people like me who only earn $8 a day by working as government employee in my country
so please don't request the moderators to ban it
This is the selfish narcissistic attitute that allows email spammers and robocallers to exist: "sure I'll annoy thousands of people and waste hundreds of man-hours and other's resources, but this is how I make money"

I agree with the OP, we need to get rid of the signature campaigns and the signatures all together. It used to be okay about 2 years ago but now about 50% of posts (at least) are forced/spam posts only made with the backthought of "Hey, I'm getting paid to talk". This needs to stop. The forum has gone to the shitter in the last year or so and we need this to change.
Also...what the fuck happened to the 1.5 million in BTC we spent on a NEW FORUM that was supposed to come out like a year back or something like that...
|
I'm a lover not a hater. I'm a scam buster misunderstood. However, this forum is full of haters which is why you see my trust. They can't handle my success so they try to stop me...BUT NO ONE STOPS MY SUCCESS! ....Find Quickseller annoying? Click the "ignore" button below his name! You're welcome!

Maybe 2 million in BTC is enough? You guys better donate more to see. We all are waiting very slowly and hopes it is as good as this forum. Haha But seriously, this is like the only forum of 2 I am active on anymore. I used forums a lot more 5-8 years ago than I do now.

Are you guys blind or what? It's just this easy. If you are disturbed by signatures do this, if not then why complain? Let others be free to earn some money You might be; or at the very least you didn't bother to read this thread. That checkbox has been pointed out several times, the reasons why people may not want to use that checkbox have also been discussed, and hiding (campaign) signatures alone does nothing with regard to the other side effects also discussed before, as recent as 3 posts above yours. Well i dont see any other side effects then. If someone is disturbed by too many ads he can disable it, just with adblock you can disable website ads. But if you dont, then atleast support the company he is advertising, bitcoin is a small community ,yet, and it doesnt have many means to advertise new stuff. Since our forum community is big, obviously new services will target forum users, we need to help support them by watching and checking out their ads. After all you guys want all the way for bitcoin to succeede, so we must do a sacrifice like this for the bitcoin economy

Unfortunately it is obvious that no improvement is going to be made and that the new forum won't even be worth joining (I am not going to bother).
Personally I think it should just be left to the ad-sig posters to keep posting their rubbish posts to one another until finally the ad sponsors realise that no-one who has any funds to actually buy or invest in anything is left (then the entire forum will simply be abandoned as a forum whose entire purpose is "making money from everyone else in the forum" is actually rather boring for those who actually care about something other than money and for those that don't I would think it would be more entertaining to use casinos where you can just click one button to "play" rather than waste time "typing").
Oh - btw - I will be announcing a P2P Forum soon that won't have signatures and will have an "ignore" system that actually works properly (rather than you seeing a topic updated by an ignored user and seeing "this poster is currently being ignored" posts). Having a "proper ignore system" will also mean there is no need for moderators (and there will be none).

Perfect, we are waiting the new P2P forum ... good luck! I will announce it in the CIYAM topic in Project Development (link is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=598860.0 for those that want to add it to their Watchlist). It will work much the same as the CIYAM Open forum currently does ( http://ciyam.org/open) although there will be numerous changes made to suit the P2P Forum implementation. It is most likely that I'll make it accessible from ciyam.org just to make it easy for people to "have a play" before they decide to install any software on their computer.

Unfortunately no matter how many times this is repeated it will be followed by some stupid ad-sig poster response that is basically saying "don't take away my income". (to them their tiny income for creating rubbish posts is worth far more than the forum itself)

I think the campaigns just need to crackdown on the spammers more. The forum seems fine with the campaigns so lets start reporting people (I have started reporting every useless post I see lately). here is also a suggestion -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=877765.msg11847389#msg11847389

I tried that - and my "report accuracy" rapidly went down from 90+% to 40+% (so the mods seemingly "approve of rubbish"). So I would *not* recommend anyone to do that (unless they want to see their "report accuracy" tank). You might want to check your "report accuracy" after doing that for a while.

The mods probably don't have the time and/or interest to really look into reports of some posts. If it were purely spam, they have no problem zapping the posts.. I see posts to a certain website for A2 sales removed pretty quickly, for example. But some of these posts are pretty difficult to gauge, more of a pattern of type of posts that you can either intuit or quite clearly link to signature campaigns (e.g. as per that graph I posted). So 'we' see them as rubbish, while a mod might read the post and think "well maybe it doesn't exactly add anything fundamental to the discussion, but it's not pure spam, it appears to be on topic, and who are we to say this person's post isn't meant as a genuine piece? err on the side of caution -> leave in place" Instead of reporting to mods, there should be more 'report to campaign manager', and let them deal with it. If the manager then decides to ignore it - e.g. because their sig's visibility on the forum trounces ideals - report the manager to the mods. Wouldn't accomplish a whole lot except drive campaign management off-site, though

When people "kick the tires" in sales threads with no intentions to buy When it obvious they just read part of the topic and not the thread and post useless words that do not help the thread I really do not have a specific thing I look for...spam is obvious most of them time.

I browsed the forum from a new machine, and as such wasn't logged in. Normally I have sigs turned off. Wow, I forgot how awful the sigs are. There is no use to having them on. They are a disaster.

Without the sig campaign this forum would not have so much visits.
Visits by who - other ad-sig posters that add more rubbish? Seriously - no-one is visiting bitcointalk.org to read the posts anymore (that finished a long time ago).
