Still. his attitude is like people mining here are rolling in dough, when the reality is that something is up with this place and it's behind again.
This comes up at EVERY pool, anytime short term luck plummets. People come out with their conspiracies. Start pool hopping. Sacrificing virgins.

But really, in the end, it all evens out. If you look at the long term stats, they are still above the expected PPS return.

On a rare occasion, there is a problem like a block withholding attack or some other nefarious purpose/glitch in code. But at least here you know that here, the pool op is looking into it and updates you regularly with what is going on. If ever that stops happening, it is time to run. Like at Slush from dec 2015 - feb 2016. When everyone mining there got robbed. Finally after 3 months of miner complaints and being told everything is ok, they announced someone (I think it was Omega mining) with a large percentage of the hash was running hardware that could not find blocks. Then the pool op said basically, oh he didn't know. Let's just let him keep all your coins.

So really, if they can't handle the swings. STFU and move elsewhere where there will be less variance, or at least the long blocks don't last as long. But you'll be in in the dark as to what's going on.

OR Mine ON.

Oh, and sacrifice some chickens.... Cheesy

And big surprise you are going to find a strong "Pro KanoPool" opinion from folks in this forum.
Yup...for good reason.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

I know of one other real real tiny pool That usually only hits a block with 100% or better luck if they get one block in about 59 days.  When they get one in 30 they are doing really good.  They just so happened to get real super lucky and hit one block that was around 24 btc.. and they were only 10 days from when they got there last block.   With a total of about 2000th total pool size..   So people mining there got paid really well for there time and getting so lucky to hit a block this weekend.   BUT I'm not going to be mad at them for getting their lucky block break. They were just all super lucky and thats all luck is, its just luck.

I was going to mention I saw p2pool getting a block after 45 days or so.  It was probably a nice payout, but wow, that would hurt.

If you're feeling lucky, there are at least two places you can solo mine.  If you win, you get at minimum, 12.5 BTC.  At $6,400/BTC, that's $80,000.  Plus transaction fees.  You might hit it big and get $100,000!

The only problem is luck indicates, on average, it'll take a really really long time to find it.  Maybe a year?  That's on average.  If your luck sucks, it could be a couple years.

Or it could be in the next hour.

M

I mine at Kano's Pool because it pays the best and is completely transparent!  Come join me!

I've been mining on here for quite a long time and was aware of this possibility. I hope kano can figure it out, it just seems a bit ironic that this pool did so well for so long and then the luck just goes down, I guess as many will say that is luck, but thats just the easy answer. Once he's able to get everything sorted out i'll be back in a flash, but I need to get a return on my investment (power) unfortunately I don't get it for free. and last month wasn't spectacular. Here's to hoping I am wrong and November ends as a bright green month.

I wasn't trying to single you out with my post. Just all the people who constantly post the same crap, most of whom don't even mine here. In retrospect, I probably should have picked one of their posts to quote, but I just grabbed the last one in the thread.

And I'm definitely not saying we shouldn't question what's going on with the pool. Since it is all our money we should always be questioning what's going on. When the pool op says, Ok I'm checking on it. Then reports back that everything is as it should be. You either gotta believe him or move on. Coz if you don't believe it now, nothing else they say is gonna convince you either.

As of posting this, its been 22 min since the network found a block - TX fees might be high for this next one - here's to hoping we get it.

Was about 18.639   that's a normal big but less than the 21's and 23's that occurred over the weekend.  Quite a few of the most recent blocks are not showing who mined them, so not antminer, btcc, slush, nor kano.

BTC.com is showing that ViaBTC got that one. With all these tx's, an 18 is better than a 15 Smiley

Holy smokes!  21-23 btc??? Practically double of the 12.5!  Shocked  Looks like we missed out big time!  18 would be awesome too!  Tongue

Let’s just hope that cobramining doesn’t quit on us!  Undecided  Then we’d be dead!  Cry

BitCH crap coin's EDA just kicked in. Their diff just dropped to 190G from 522G.

Let's see how fast the hash leaves and drives transaction fees backup. Though in the short term, the high fees are good for us miners. But long term, taking too long to confirm transactions or making them too expensive will kill us. They really need to come up with a scaling solution that doesn't involve segwit. I personally love Kano's idea of 2 min block time as opposed the current 10 minute target.

Well, the real issue is understanding when something 'might' be wrong.
We just had a run of 7 really lucky blocks, a 112% OK block, then now one approaching 300% ... so yeah I'm not sure why the subject of "OMG bad luck" comes up on a single block after that run of 8 ... just look at the previous 2 blocks even Tongue

I think it just hits a little harder while the fees are so high and we aren't getting any.

Or maybe it's just that the last 3 months *really* sucked. and this month is shaping up to be the same.

How is it the same?

... and September being average 99.80% PPS seems quite a lot better than "*really* sucked" Tongue
The CDF[Erl] of 0.7642 means about 1 in 4.24 months (with 50 blocks) that's expected to be worse.
If the blocks is smaller, then it's even more likely.
