Just looked over at Slush's...they've only solved one block in like 11 hours...I'm not worried.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

So far i think 100PH has left the network in last 12 hours, look at the block rates. I think 40-50PH from Ant and 40-50PH from F2. Guess they don't want the backlash from Mike's Hearns letter, so they can say who us? we don't control the network.

Mike Hearns?  Like who? Mike Hunt is more like it!  Tongue I read somewhere once, "Beware the false prophets" and as they say opinions are like, well, you know... Everyone's got one and they all think their's don't stink.  Well, it does, mr. Hunt, so go take your circus sideshow somewhere else. We are the kano ckpool faithful, we believe in what we and our sysops are doing, and will keep on keeping on!
Keep calm and mine on, as they say.

Lastly, as I head to bed tonight i say it's time to crack a triple block run before I wake up tomorrow morning.  Only right, right?  Cool

LLLLCK - Long live LL Cool K or Long live LL ck, works both ways! Cheesy

So we're at 700B network hashrate and almost 12 minutes between blocks. How long before the network adjusts speed? Please help me understand short term difficulty adjustments.
Every 2016 blocks the difficulty will be adjusted based on the average time per block during the last 2016.  Since the wanted time per block is 10 minutes, 2016x10min/60/24 gives 14 days, or 2 weeks.  Every 2 weeks (2016 blocks actually but close to the ideal 2 weeks) the difficulty is adjusted proportionately based on wanted versus actual time per block.  There is no shorter time frame in which difficulty is adjusted.

Hope that helps!  I love this math stuff, warms the cockles of my engineering heart!

Interesting that the year is now currently the same as difficulty block set size.  Coincidence or...?

Well a bit OT but if -ck and kano-san will indulge us a bit of bandwidth...

As with any complicated system that is worthy of study, take it small easy pieces at a time.  For instance, beside a breakfast dish or mystical vapor, what exactly is a hash? How is it calculated? Once you have a better understanding of that, then add to it. Keep adding small increments until a bigger picture starts to form in your mind.  Then come back here and ask deeper questions when you hit a wall!

Now let's crack a block already.  Pretty soon we're going to start feeling like all our mojo nonsense is actually that, just nonsense... no fun in that, eh?  Wink

Ok, I'm seeing something strange re the last two payouts and I wonder if anyone else is seeing the same.  Looking at my payout address I see the last two payouts in my wallet are still at 0 confirmations after 6 and 3 hours respectively.

Are we getting the cold shoulder from the network re our transactions (unlikely I'd think) or is my wallet app out of sync (mycellium)?

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this.

Keep calm and mine on!

Yes the last two payouts are still waiting to be confirmed.
I sent them out:

Payout 393256 sent (6hrs 15min ago)
44f7284da3f0ef308f2f666fd791f4ccae30f85c088a2422531ed3c36ea67d57

Payout 393263 sent (3hrs 10min ago)
d0da81d152040dbf0cbf7ad4195af18ba7c629d2ff6dcfa9e17f7a8ab4d5dfb4

Also since then I've made a small code change to the main bitcoind to help with keeping certain transactions in our blocks.
There's still a very small chance of it not being in the block work when we next find a block, but it's in almost all work we send out.

Guess we just gotta hurry up and find a block Cheesy

Blockchain doesn't mine, that's nothing to do with bitcoin, they just have some silly rule they made up years ago.
Every payout I send says that at their silly site until it's confirmed.

yeah, I know they don't mine - figured it was a message related to some other node that refused to pick it up.
I guess it's just blockchain website sees an unconfirmed transaction and number of outputs exceeds 250 so pops up the msg.
Hadn't noticed it before.

Also you will note that in the last 20 minutes there have been 8 network blocks.
4 of them by f2pool that were 1/2 full (one) and 1/4 full (three) blocks ... they didn't include our payout transactions Smiley

--

Edit: both payouts just confirmed, not by f2pool who ignored them even though their blocks were pretty empty, but by BTCC

Because of this chinese pools the transactions are beeing staled, because of them the main bitcoin  core developer Mike Hearn resigned and i think because of that the price went down to 400$! They are fucking hurting the Bitcoin.

I could hear a pin drop in this forum...

After reading Hearn's farewell bog - I am still gasping for air ... wondering if this something to worry about....

... after thinking about it for 5 minutes ... Life goes on, the blockchain reality is real - be it Bitcoin or whatever coin.

Common block party soon!

Kano/CK,

You are very intelligent people working in the programming world; can you give us your perspective on the bitcoin information in the media today along with the price drop?

From my perspective as an operator, i am invested and charging forward.
