I promise that when I bring my 4 S9's online, expecting them to arrive in less than 30 days, there will be no whining, sniveling, snowflake melting, safe place needing, sniveling spewing from my neck. I know what I am getting myself in to and honestly there are no other viable alternatives than KANOPOOL. If by 6 months the Pool has not found sufficient blocks, I will reassess. Until then, my neck will not be crying about an occasional spell of "Bad Luck". It happens, and by the way, the difficulty has gone through the roof so it is expected that blocks would be more difficult to find. But guess what has been consistent, as difficulty goes up, so does price. On GDAX this morning, BTC is almost 7K a coin, so honestly, I am chewing at the bit to add my Hash which isn't a lot comparatively to others (~56TH/s) to help the pool find those blocks and get those rewards. MINE ON!!!

There was a network outage at the DE node that everyone mining to the DE node will have failed over and back again.
The outage was 8:34 UTC but there were random network issues starting at 08:27 UTC
All OK again.

As to looking for a steady income...you're in the wrong business. I'm sad to see (but not really surprised) so many "noobs" don't expend the energy to really understand Bitcoin itself, or (I know it's a lot of context, but it's there, and there's a search engine) scan the plethora of good info on this board, before committing to an investment in HW, and then dive into pool mining with no clear understanding of the dynamics of the environment.

This isn't the wild frontier of entrepreneurialism as it was in the beginning. It's business...BIG business, with global nation-state players. It's the only place I know of, though, where an individual can get a secure "piece of the pie" by mining, and have some degree of fiscal security in the long run, when banks and fiat currency are arguably on the brink.

On one hand they could be doing that so that they can still sell their 741s.  Or it could be we won't see the new stuff for 6 months or more.

Well we know the hash rate increments they could possibly be in. It just has to cost the same or less per THs than the S9. The shipping for me on the S9s alone would give them an advantage for my business. (In US). I have two A741s that I am hoping to get in the next few weeks to test them out. I only have s9&7s right now.

Yup, that's my position as well. I haven't had anything fail as yet, but it's getting to "that time." Not anxious to buy, but something in that production/pwr category would be viable and would be worth it...so long as the Ice Planet has that new transformer...it would put me over 50TH.

I am not an expert, but currently average block time is almost 15 minutes due to a drop in total network hashrate, but the difficulty has not responded yet.
Would this also mean payouts currently on average happen 50% less?
That could explain some issues perhaps.
Though I see transaction fees are making up for it almost, and the price spike carries it even further.
