I thought maybe it was internal so I went ahead and cycled my system real quick and I'm back up on statum. Not connecting to nya.

So uhhh how’s everyone feel about this? https://github.com/about/careers/remote Everyone scrambling for bitbucket now lol. Looks like big money gonna take over this whole scene. Yikes! I find it funny that those with all the resources are so arrogant that they think they have all the answers. FML BR Edit sorry wrong link. https://blog.github.com/2018-06-04-github-microsoft/You can quote me on this. This is the beginning of the end of open source. It threatens the powers to be if you know what I mean. Fun while it lasts. Better get high stepping on the decentralized projects for truth and openness now or it will be too late if it isn’t already. Scary!

I thought maybe it was internal so I went ahead and cycled my system real quick and I'm back up on statum. Not connecting to nya. And it appears like I'm back on nya again. NYA did a reconnect twice. It was an immediate drop and reconnect so it was an immediate failover for anyone on NYA. - and it was fast enough to not set off any alarms - which is fine since it's only when they don't reconnect immediately that I actually NEED to know, to do anything The NYA disconnects were at 10:14 UTC and again at 11:43 UTC There were no disconnects on the (3) Stratum nodes.

Hi, Kano, How is the current situation with the account payout consolidation either for a week / month or not for 1 block, but for 5 / 10 / 25 blocks or ever?
Still working on it - but it has taken 2nd place in priorities for a very short while. I'm working on the asicboost changes to the pool but also at the same time I'm actually currently upgrading the main backend server. (and aside: I did no coding work last week due to being under the weather) While all the nodes have been running Bitcoin 0.16.0 for a while, the main server has been running a couple of versions behind - that's OK, but I'm updating all the node software (except Bitcoin) and all the software on the main server (including Bitcoin) to put all the changes in place and get everything up to date. I've still not done the testing of the asicboost changes, but my extra code changes are done and just need testing, and that will of course be completed as part of this. This should be completed this week and I'll post about it the day before I do the actual change over to the new main server (that I started working on today) When it happens, it will be an outage of about 15-30 minutes for all miners. Basically the same as I did at the end of Jan last year, but this time it should be a much shorter outage.

The *sigh* is because at least 3-4x a month here and in other threads someone comes up with the same 'idea' of using a cooler. Would they ever think of using a cooler as a room air conditioner by leaving its door(s) open? Unlikely. Why? Because of their low BTU ratings it loses its cool rather fast before cooling off the room and yet the same thought never enters their minds when it comes to cooling miners...
I'll give an 'A' for them considering the idea but folks need to think things through a lot more...
OK, beer cooler might not be enough. But when I find something I won't just leave them lay in there but rather duct the heat out. I have to have them outside as this is phoenix and it's now 105+ everyday. If I keep em in the house they use too much power to run my air and WE CAN'T HAVE THAT! It's a Mobile Park and my elec is included (no meter even) and I have a garage on a separate circuit but it gets hot in it by the afternoon. I have 5 S3s that I have a total of $150 (w/PSUs) so with them all running my ROI is within my lifetime. Think I wanna pay for em and eventually sell as a package. sort of a mini mining farm. Then buy something with more power and small electric usage that I can maybe just leave in a corner of my place. I have an upright freezer in the garage but I don't wanna cut it up as it's fulla food, but I think it WOULD work.

No, it won't for the same reason a refrigerator/cool does not work: Yes they all can get very cold but they do it by *slowly* removing the heat from inside the well insulated casing and what is stored inside. The food inside only has heat energy stored from when you put the food in and does not generate any additional heat. In short, only air conditioning systems and fluid chillers are designed to continuously move large amounts of heat input - that is why they are so power hungry vs refrigerators/coolers/freezers.

Swamp cooler might be enough to cool your intake air in the desert.

I always pay with Bitcoin. Fast, easy, and I use coins I mined with. Twas a bit of a pain when they only accepted Bitcoin Cash, but now things are back to normal. Well. Kind of. I've stopped buying S9s in favor of Avalons. Now the trick to only do that when Avalon pricing is compariable. Seems those windows are pretty short.
WELL IT WOULD APPEAR that ship has sailed, what became of my much loved usd? Some lucky chinese fella got a nice payday cause I inputted his bank ACCT# instead of bitmain's? I know I double checked the #s. I'm not too stoopid to type, or copy paste am I? If so paying w/ BTC wouldn't have helped me, would it? EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Ugh, sorry to hear. Yea, me to. I've never tried wiring money to buy miners. Sorry to hear a horror story like this. All May not be lost! After long hold times w/the bank and email sessions w/bitmain I have gotten them to admit the fact that the problem COULD be on their end (the banks end). This would be another lifetime first for me made possible by the crazy adventure that is bitcoin mining...MAN what a crazy business we got ourselves mixed up in hey?

I have ordered and paid via wire several times without issue. I usually add a little extra funds to cover banking fees on their end. I prefer paying with BTC when it is available. Shipping into the US I have had best luck using DHL. When I use UPS I always get a bill for additional customs brokerage fees after delivery. I haven't had any additional fees due with DHL.

Keep us informed! Sounds like there may be a good solution to this!

there are passive radiators. If you have a small well, you can use underground well water to have it flow through, and cool the air towards your minders. Quite cheap, only cost is a small electric well pump of 75-100 watts.
