Well deserved in my view.
Agreed!
Also keep in mind all these servers across the Globe with 'proper' (fast enough) network connectivity - be it an AWS or anything else... That also cost quite a lot of money that are paid from that amount (I guess...).

We definitely need to find more blocks, so that Kano can relax a little bit! Smiley

This should hopefully only be a short outage.
I simply stop the old server, do a final sync up of the new server with the data from the old server, start it up and then start each of the nodes pointing at the new server.
No one needs to change anything, and I hopefully might be able to get the mining outage down to only 10 minutes.
You, sir, are amazing!

I hope you make enough from this pool to take good care of yourself. We need you around for a long time!
That is good money and he dose work hard for it I wish him all the luck.

Mine on.....

Hi, Kano,
How is the current situation with the account payout consolidation either for a week / month or not for 1 block, but for 5 / 10 / 25 blocks or ever?

Still working on it - but it has taken 2nd place in priorities for a very short while.

I'm working on the asicboost changes to the pool but also at the same time I'm actually currently upgrading the main backend server.
(and aside: I did no coding work last week due to being under the weather)

While all the nodes have been running Bitcoin 0.16.0 for a while, the main server has been running a couple of versions behind - that's OK, but I'm updating all the node software (except Bitcoin) and all the software on the main server (including Bitcoin) to put all the changes in place and get everything up to date.
I've still not done the testing of the asicboost changes, but my extra code changes are done and just need testing, and that will of course be completed as part of this.

This should be completed this week and I'll post about it the day before I do the actual change over to the new main server (that I started working on today)
When it happens, it will be an outage of about 15-30 minutes for all miners.
Basically the same as I did at the end of Jan last year, but this time it should be a much shorter outage.
I've been testing the changes I mentioned above and also have already setup the replacement server.
I'll do some more testing tomorrow, but everything seems OK so far and ready to go.

So I'm planning on switching everything over in 21.5 hours.

Mining outage for 10-30 minutes
starting at 10:55 UTC 09-Jun

This should hopefully only be a short outage.
I simply stop the old server, do a final sync up of the new server with the data from the old server, start it up and then start each of the nodes pointing at the new server.
No one needs to change anything, and I hopefully might be able to get the mining outage down to only 10 minutes.

I'll add this on the notices on the web site shortly also.

The web site will go into maintenance mode while the update is done, then I'll switch it back on once it's all complete.
Firstly, yep still going ahead as planned in about 1hr 45 minutes or as the web site says at the top Smiley

--

However, the new setup wont support asicboost.
I've found that ckpool doesn't actually work properly with asicboost, the node proxy setup crashes and burns, so I wont be adding asicboost to the new setup yet.
However, I've coded in and tested all the changes for KanoDB to work with or without asicboost and that will be on the new server.

With much thanks to wavelengthsf's T1 I've made sure most of the pool configuration works, and since I have 2 T1s myself now, I'll continue with the testing next week to sort out the ckpool bugs - someone clearly never tested some of their code ... Hacksville Tongue

Yep mining all working now.

Sorry for the much longer than expected outage.

The last ckpool log file was (again) corrupted when it crashed during shutdown.
Unfortunately there were 3 corruptions in the file so it took me quite a while to sort that out.

Mining all working OK again - I'll get back to working on getting the web server back online ...

Existing equipment will continue to work the same after Kano works out the problems with asicboost in the pool code.  It will be an added feature to allow those asicboost-only machines to work...not a restriction on existing equipment.

I noticed after asicboost was anounced on Flush, and company, that there were/are issues with connectivity. This may explain why.  Personally, I think it was shameful, how they rushed the whole launch of shenanigans directly into the naive hands of consumers.
Kudos to YOU, for taking the time to troubleshoot the code, before it creates issues for Kano Pool Members. Many Thanx!!! Smiley

Does anyone have any coupons for S9i from bitmain?

I have 1 350 and 4 100

You plan on using them or mind parting with one? Looking to upgrade my two s7's added a few TH to the pool and my hash rate.

I have two $100 coupons for anyone on the pool that plans on buying a new miner and wants one free coupon
