Well, 100 more 100TH miners would only be 10PH... I don't even know if I'd consider that a 'whale' in today's hashpower race.

i would not consider it a whale either but I also do not consider 100 people to be a crap ton, I was thinking like 1000 people lol so we could get over 100 PH at least lol

Regardless, what I've noticed is that it seems easier to get one or two lucky blocks with a small-medium sized pool to make it a really profitable month rather than a bunch of lucky blocks with a semi-large pool.

That's called variance Smiley

That's why we have high luck months and low luck months - the total expected blocks for the month ends up being small - so over that small 'sample' it can vary a lot more than a large sample (i.e. a pool that expects more blocks per month).

Long term we are ahead of every other pool (e.g. Mar-Feb then Mar also) but short term it varies a lot as can be seen on the monthly block table.
Alas, we do need to get larger to avoid the very low luck months (but will thus also avoid the very high luck months also)

Rewards were paid out every block above dust.
(though not setting a payout address for over a year probably stopped them also)

Non block payouts are why I'm writing the accounting - the code's not finished.

what is considered a large pool? over 100 ph? over 200 ph? I think the bigger benefit to a semi large pool is the reduced ramp up - when it is 45-60 days that might discourage some from joining as that can be a long time to wait for a full reward. maybe where the pool size is large enough to have ramp up around 15 days or so might be nice. My new miner - the T15 has been ramping up since march 25th so around 3 weeks and it is only around 3/4 of the way to being ramped up. I think it has at least another 15 to 20 days to go.

Pool size could be measured as a percentage of the network maybe, anyway this is sort of how I see it.

Super Pools are over 5EH in size > 10% of the network each
Large pools are over 1EH in size > 2.5% of the network each
Medium pools are over 100PH in size > 0.25% of the network each
Small pools are over 20PH in size < 0.1%
Tiny pools are over 1PH in size < negligible

None of this is an exact science, but I would think this pool would be more comfortable at or above the 250-300PH mark

Good day to be part of a small pool with 5nd. Switching ISP's and then moving the hash out to the garage; finally mostly healed up.

Your shift graph average line change, each shift, will be affected by the point that moves off the left, vs the point added on the right.

However, on a diff change, the length of the 5Nd will also change, in this case it got a little longer due to the diff drop (-0.63%) so that can affect it also of course, but only when the diff changes.

understood - the point dropping off the left is nearly 20 TH lower than the one adding to the right. I would just love to be fully ramped up, its been since Feb and I am still 15 TH from fully ramped up, when yesterday i was only 13 TH from it, so from my perspective, I am moving backwards not forwards.
