Noob here...I am located in Central America and have 6 s9 antminers I would like to fire up in a pool somewhere, is this a good one vs slushpool or nicehash for what I have? My electricity cost is 0 due to a deal we have with the power company. Apologies if this is the wrong thread to ask this.

Don't do nicehash...their fees will kill you.  Between Slush and the KanoPool, Slush's fee is 2% and KanoPool's fee is 0.9%.  You'll make more at Kano over time plus his pool support and transparency is light years ahead of anywhere else...just read through some of this thread Smiley

Register for an account here https://kano.is/ and point your miners here.  It will take about 7 days to reach your full potential (and you would continue to get paid for about 7 days if you ever decided to leave).  We get paid per block found and not some daily amount but over time the expected payouts will be higher.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Dude, you can't go wrong mining here! Extremely fair <1% pool fee, payments consistently sent 101+ confirmations after each new block, best pool support, etc., etc.

This is THE PLACE to mine! Cool

See the first post and/or kano.is for config details for your miners, and feel free to follow the join Discord link from Kano.is for near-realtime block notifications and conversations with all us miners.

See ya on the stats page! Grin

Welcome!  Not sure if you've been here before but most new arrivals want to know how the payout method and the 5Nd 'ramp' works.  You'll get a payout every time we hit a block.  The timing is after the block gets 101 confirms, a low or zero fee transaction is created by Kano and once that is confirmed it hits your wallet.  If no one on the blockchain confirms this transaction, it will be confirmed by our next block hit.

For an explanation of how 5Nd works, read this post and see if it helps:

Welcome aboard!
Well damn - that pushes me down to #47! Seems we picked up several other folks as well as I had been banging around the high 30's...
That settles it. Time for me to pick up 2x A921's to swap power slots with 3x A741's for an 'extra' 20 or so THs and fair bit less power use ta boot.

Patience is a virtue.... or some other positive saying a teacher or a poster may have said. Cool

Honestly there are tough blocks and there are 3 block days. I'm sure kano can drop some numbers on you if you care, but the best I can say is just wait it all works out in the end

I guess read Help->Luck

It's good to understand that block luck does indeed go up and down - we just had an awesome run of good luck and the current luck ISN'T terrible.

People often get too caught up looking at a single block, but just look at the long term Smiley
The long term luck this year is all good and that's what we expect and what matters.
As long as we are finding lotsa blocks each diff change it's all good.

... and remember, all pools and all mining expects 1 in 2.7 blocks to be OVER 100% Diff (under 100% luck) - yep more than 1 in 3.

Mine on! Cheesy

I have been here just around 8 days and we have found 5 blocks - finding this next one has been a challenge though. The only thing that sucks for me is ramping up. If I ever leave, I hope we find as many blocks in my last week instead of none lol

Now, there's a quick learner on the PPLNS 5Nd methodology!

By the way, did you take the blue pill or the red pill???

P.S. - I took both! Cool

You guys are looking at it from the wrong perspective.  Consider when you started mining... I, for instance, am now running close to 32x the hashrate I started with at the beginning of my mining adventure, with my one lowly S5.  And that's getting into the game a little late.
I'm sure you got me beat tho, NotFuzzy!  Cheesy
