Havelock HAS RESPONSIBILITY in this for the simple fact that they sold us an scam, in good faith nor not.
So if you go to a convenience store and buy a can of beer, you give your money to the teller, then walking out to your car you open the can and the beer is putrid, do you comeback to the store and ask for your money back or go to the Heineken factory and ask them for a refund?
I gave my money to Havelock, Havelock sold me a putrid beer, i think that in good faith they made the same mistake than everybody else: To believe in the word of some Chinese schoolboys.
Now, want it or not Havelock is deep into this, a pity because i see that they strive for a good reputation.

Havelock is not a mark for any recovery. This will just make the things more complicated unnecessarily. This is my private opinion. Apart from that I do not see them as much involved in it. What for drag them into this? In what way can we benefit?

Why insist on royal plural? That's like, so affected, man. Just say "him," like a normal human being. Re. "recovery": Hahahahaha It's like a curse I tell you ~Cassandra

I like how they paid out for 2 months, lots to time to move out of offices, set up new bank accounts (offshore ofcourse), liquidate hard assets, etc etc.
the shutdown for 2 weeks during Chinese holydays was a nice touch too. That way they did'nt not have to pay anything and gain 2 weeks.
Very professional.

3 years almost exactly to the day. What are the odds of that?
A good scam is well thought out in advance, with specific milestones and a defined end date.
This friedcat person (or persons) are good, very good.
You guys here are the small fry of it, there must people on the ground there jumping off buildings now.....

scammers are amateurs job but this seem to be a professional job. Well planned and thought out. not so surprising when you consider bitcoin's popularity and volatility. wouldn't surprise me if this person(s) involved with pulling something similar using fiat money. (stocks, bonds, etc.)

and the best chance to catch them is on their next endeavour.
it is most likely they will do it again, problem is figuring out when where and when....

Possible, when he grows up. This thing, otoh, is no more artful than Labcoin, NeoBee, or any other Bitcoin "investment" where rubes trip over themselves & each other in a rush to send their [sorta] anon coin to any Anon promising to make them rich. This likely didn't even start out as a scam, but once the the marks' general derpiness became apparent, it would have taken a saint to resist turning this hilarity into one. So my rating: C+Points off for 1. poor BTC/time invested ratio 2. shit story arc, and 3. dragging, predictable & utterly unsatisfying finale <==tho grantedly, all BTC securities suffer from this, so perhaps a lacking inherent to BTC genre.

Guys, don't forget that when FC came out with the first ASICs (the first to mine bitcoin at all) his company quickly became worth over $100 million. Now unless he lost it all (which in this world, isn't unheard of) it doesn't make sense that he would try to run off with $1mil worth of coin.
