My honest guess is that it is an excellently executed plan whose design is to appear to be fumbling, bumbling idiots. The best defense against scam accusations is the appearance of ineptitude.

"Awe shucks guys, I really tried so hard to make this work, but we were trying new technology". Meanwhile there is no doubt that GAW is making a kings ransom off of this scam. That sends my BS meter right off the charts.

Nah, I really believe he's bumbling.

Thank you for this forum, where Paycoin2 was flamed. That's all that happened, it is the beginning and end of a scam.

We all knew this would happen & we all know where this is going.

GAW has argued for censorship of comments in the past, that's what led to this rivalry, He ran from this site to make his own. Censorship is evil, and civility more evil.

The internet is rude for a reason, it is rude so that you can't do propaganda without getting insulted. The insults are healthy to the extent that they prevent formation and concentrations of cult-like authority, and they work. People online have zero authority, and an authority free open discussion leads to truth very quickly becoming self-evident.

Hostile discussions lead to accuracy, because people are given a choice between different thoughts where they hang the facts they find online. The facts they find independently quickly make it clear which is more accurate.

But censorship / propaganda tries to disallow certain things from getting said, especially rude things, because rudeness kills propaganda dead.

Online hostility can lead to some personal nuisances sometimes, the creator of Paycoin2 did feel psychologically threatened because someone posted their opinion. That's unfortunate for him. He should know better than to think that the internet produces a nearly insuperable barrier between fantasy and reality, so the discussions on Bitcointalk can be free to be vicious. Vicious discussions immediately neutralize propaganda from any side, whether the propaganda is for accurate or inaccurate viewpoints.

All it takes is one person saying "boo hoo" for a sob story to be neutralized. All it takes is one person calling your XPY "Paycoin2" for consensus to disappear momentarily. The way to verify the truth of assertions is to research them using neutral scholarly sources, and this doesn't happen unless people see an irreconcilable conflict.

What would prevent Josh to dump some of his 10,000,000 coins on the exchanges to gather up enough BTC to pay off the dumpers on paybase @ $20/each ?

Isn't that illegal?

No he is not bumbling, just a greedy, arrogant, condescending pirck and drinking his own kool aid.  Some poor, over extended fukcers are peeing their pants because their BTCJam payments are due tomorrow and they can't get $20 rate from paybase and the local loan shark is coming a knocking..

But its quite apparent that they haven't changed a damn thing and are fumbling this just like they have every major technical release in recent memory.  I think this is much simpler than being a scam as many are quick to label it, its simply a case of someone (Josh) with a good idea and lofty goals not having the knowledge or team to accomplish it.  In the end many will call GAW a scam but really it will just have been a good idea that was poorly executed.

Exactly the same happened before with Josh's previous company 'Great Auk Wireless'.
This also was a good idea but very poorly executed.

I think GAW didn't start as a scam, but after they turned to cloud mining without actual hardware to back it up the whole thing became a Ponzi.
Josh stepped on a train and he can't get off anymore, he has to ride it till the end.

Isn't that illegal?

Whether or not it is illegal doesn't address the fact that it wouldn't work besides buying him a bit of time. Dumping XPY on the exchanges would drive the price down which would create arbitrage between these exchanges and paybase balancing it out in due time. He likely is slowing dumping his XPY on exchanges anyways...

If censorship is evil, then why do you still use this site, which has moderators that delete comments? Open up a site that has 0 censorship and use that. Or are you actually saying that only certain kinds of censorship are bad, and this site is good? If so, you need to be a lot clearer about that. Explain which types of censorship you support and which not.

I have yet to see a site that does not have any censorship. There's always an owner, and if they don't like something enough, then it goes. Hell, even pastebin deletes stuff they don't want.

There is some censorship here , no doubt about that ... I think the point he is trying to make is that there is a lot more censorship and banning at HT.

Nah, I really believe he's bumbling.

The fact that large sums of money are ending up in the hands of those orchestrating this boondoggle is , in my opinion, all the proof that one needs to know that what is going on is quite intentional. My dad told me a long , long, time ago this truism which has been proven true in every case over the years: "If someone tells you it's not about the money, you can bet your ass it's about the money". Josh & Co. are claiming this is all about innovation and creating a new system of commerce and cutting out those evil banks, not about funneling huge amounts of $ and BTC into their hands. Pure BS. It's about the money.

Also, I have been in the building business for over three decades now, and I can tell you that there are a LOT of scoundrels who will scam you. It generally involves entering into a contract to perform a task (and these always involve a down payment), and when they fail and are dragged into court the defense they usually use to get out of a court ordered specific performance ruling is incompetence, followed closely by uncontrollable external factors (weather, material or labor unavailability, etc). All they have to prove is that they "did their best to honor the agreement" and they walk away scott-free. This is precisely what is being set up here. If GAW were to demonstrate competence and this thing fails (we all know it will) then there would be no reasonable defense against malfeasance. By setting it up as if they are a bunch of well meaning bumbling idiots they have a perfect defense. It isn't illegal to be an idiot, but it is illegal to enter into an agreement and intentionally not deliver what was promised. This is exactly what is going on. You can believe whatever you want, but I have experienced and witnessed this sort of thing so many times I know what is going on, and knowing always trumps believing.

All of my posts are simply statements of my own personal opinions based on available information and pondering what might be possible considering human nature, with the goal of finding truth and preventing fraud. Please look at all of the facts and theories and put your thinking cap on to draw your own conclusions. If you feel that I have made a false statement or have been unnecessarily derogatory, I encourage you to please point it out, and if proven correct and/or reasonable I will remedy it. ~ Paul Revere

Then he's got very poor writing skills. How do you make that point when you write "censorship is evil"?

I've written a couple of negative and questioning posts, and never got banned. When a thread is locked it is often because the same question is being discussed on a different thread. I've been attacked here a lot worse than on ht, including posts deleted and being insulted (which I don't really care about, but shows the culture).

Those aren't mutually exclusive. Bitcointalk can be slightly evil, corrupt and biased and HT can be much more evil and corrupt. In fact one should expect as much as witnessed simply because their is a conflict of interest between the fact that a centralized for profit company pumping their own line of products is in complete control of the forum where BT is managed by multiple different interests and accepts ad revenue from many competing industries and products.
