Litecoin 100% up in the last weeks. not dead i guess  Cheesy

Litecoin demand is solely fueled by the Chinese, unlike that of the Bitcoin. And that makes it much more volatile and unpredictable. There is hardly any demand for Litecoin in regions such as North America, European Union and Russia. Unless Litecoin gains popularity in these regions, it will remain in a  dormant mode, without much growth.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

don't confuse the value in bitcoin with usd, you should look at the former

it's obvious that the value in usd will increase for every altcoin, but their btc value is down at the moment

Well, but do you think that Bitcoin has no more advantages compared to Litecoin except that it was created first?

Do you think that there are no valid reasons for Bitcoin to cost much more than Litecoin?

I still dont know what you are talking about here is a BTC/LTC chart:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btce/ltcbtc

There was nothing near 100% volatility in the last 4 days. The maximum I can see was about 15-30%.

it was a little increase on the price of any altcoin in the top 10, due to bitcoin pump, nothing major but it was there by a few %

I think that Bitcoin and Litecoin will always remain in existence even after a majority of alt coins become dead. They are the oldest cryptos out there (especially Bitcoin) and thanks to them, there has been more interest into crypto currencies with development of new alt coins and technology. Still, you need to see Litecoin as the Silver of crypto and Bitcoin as Gold. Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin will always be better than Litecoin. Bitcoin has a much bigger network and that's where all the value resides. There are a lot of projects using the BTC blockchain. On the other hand on the LTC team we don't see many activity and not many projects to leverage the coin.

The network effect of bitcoin is much more than litecoin. There are too few users of litecoin. It has to work harder to achieve.

I think that as well as Bitcoin and Litecoin, they both need innovation. Just take a look at other alt coins out there. Ethereum and Bitshares have smartchain technology, Peercoin has PoS, NXT has smartchain, asset exchange, etc. Even still, I think Bitcoin and Litecoin are still alive because of their marketcap and they have more users than the rest of the cryptos. Just my opinion.  Smiley

Or, just perhaps, the market is trying to tell us that all these other features that these other coins have are all worthless.

Kind of hard to argue against the invisible hand of the marketplace.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.
