where's the BTC address?  Or is it like I suspected... there is no public address?

I expect this is the address you speak of  Disclosure of Purchases:

Company will make all purchases publicly visible and verifiable on the Bitcoin blockchain at the following multi-signature address: 3MrNuksZ1VePU3dGiSQFiouWerJUJgDkfH

Let us know what you see.

Also there shows over 8 million sold in the first 4 hrs. You can watch the sales here. http://www.neucoin.org/en/presale

I'm still waiting to hear others lawyerly opinions on the Purchase Agreement before I decide.

fdyl

I only see .05 BTC there.  I have no reason to believe they sold 8 million coins (320 BTC worth).

The smell gets stronger....

This is why I'm cautious. You're only able to buy in at a minimum of 0.1 so 0.05 makes no sense at all unless it was just to set up the address. They said it could take an hour or so for confirmations (6) I believe before they emailed the purchaser.

So, I'll wait and see what shakes out.

Thanks guys.  Smiley

In their forum, some "sales" were praised as having six confirmations, so they should definitively appear in the Blockchain.

expect some lame excuse that the address changed, privacy, something the lawyers said, who knows.
I think they are just saying they sold a bunch to gain credibility, unless proven otherwise.

Too much time on my hands. Seriously though, who isn't trying to make book on the newest and greatest in crypto currency? I wasn't around when BTC was a penny. If I was I would have been all over it for at least a grand or two back then.

headsup:  the pre-sale site uses http for the part asking for your email address and password.  In other words, your password is sent in clear text over the Internet.  not good.

Hi there, each purchase request will generate a new, unique address to which the BTC can be sent. At the end of each day, all purchase amounts will be transferred to a publicly visible multisig address.

From the "NeuCoin Token Presale Terms":

Quote
You agree that the laws of the Republic of Seychelles, without regard to the principles of conflicts of laws thereof, will govern these Terms and all matters relating to your purchase of NeuCoin Tokens, including all disputes between you and Company.

And then:
"How Seychelles became a paradise for dirty money and corruption" - the headline of this story: http://www.taxjustice.net/2014/06/10/corrupt-little-seychelles-became-paradise-dirty-money/

http://www.neucoin.org/en/purchase_agreement

Why Seychelles?  I thought this was based on the Isle of Man (which is also host to a lot of shady things too).
In other words there are no terms of service, because you'll just tell you to argue with some lawyer in the Seychelles who can't be accessed and/or the law is on their side.  Seychelles is always host to boiler room scams.

A valuation of $3 million for a fork of Peercoin and inflation to the moon that'll only benefit the founder?  You don't say?   Cheesy
Why doesn't everybody just fork Peercoin 10 times on their computer and be a multi-millionaire with a valuation of $30 million?   Why don't we give computers to impoverished people and tell them to fork Peercoin too?  Poverty could be ended tomorrow.

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution.  The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

Thanks, I looked and it shows today's date. You'd think they'd have set that some time ago but whatever. Still makes no sense to me.

Is it even remotely possible that this isn't even an attempt at a P&D but rather a 24 hour SUCK? By that I mean an elaborate copy and paste scheme to suck in as many people as possible in a 24 hr period (or for as long as they can get away with it) before they just leave it and walk away with a shitload of BTC?

The ticker says over 20 million of the supposed 100 million sold already and there's over 17 hrs left. Who's to stop them from taking over the 100 million?

An epic $50 million SUCK! Then either a huge dump on the exchanges pushing the price to who knows where? Either they buy more back at the low price or they just take the fiat and run laughing all the way to their banks.

I ask you. Who's to stop them? Is what they're doing even considered illegal? Surely there's a way to deal with stuff like this or BTC is doomed.

I did not get my questions answered. I did not find an anwser to them anywhere. I do not understand how people can invest a single dollar without knowing the answer to these questions.

-Do the sell limitations for the insiders also apply to the interest they yield from their holdings?
-How do you want to exercise control over the funds of the insiders? (how to make sure they play by the rules?)

I also think the presale numbers on the website are fake.

I see a lot of red flags here.

This really smells like a P&D.

You can register as many accounts as you have e-mail adresses.

But still they claim:
Quote
purchases are limited to no more than 5 million NeuCoin tokens per registered buyer

So one user can easily "buy" more than 5 million Neucoins for pumping.

And at the end of the day, they may or may not disclose an address where the BTCs are transferred to. Take a closer look at the wording:

Quote
"all purchase amounts will be transferred to a publicly visible multisig address."

Well, every address is publicly visible in the Blockchain. But they don't write if they will tell which address it is...

But on the other hand: greed eats brain. So it is well possible that some ppl will really invest some Satoshis.

Can you hear yourself?  Did you read anything about the research they did to identify/quantify/improve issues with existing coins? (specifically around security).  In your dream world do these random Peercoin-forkers also have access to successful business partners with services that have tens of millions of monthly visitors?  This kind of comment just makes you sound uneducated or at least uninformed.  Maybe NeuCoin will succeed, maybe not, but do you really think that they've added no value on top of Peercoin?

I read their white paper.  What security features do you see?  What value have they added?
Perhaps I missed something.
