Im funny to see someone so desperate to win that 0.1 bitcoin. It has been said that the downtime will be deduct to ensure fairness. It has been said like since the first downtime and not something that is make up to cover the downtime also that the prediction is very way off if there is no downtime, very funny someone is angry because of this thing

I am not sure how they can argue that downtime being deducted would be fair. There was no term in their contest that downtime would be deducted so it should be fair to expect that it would not be. The fact that they control the speed of rolls mean that by slowing down or speeding up rolls just a little bit mean that it would be easy to manipulate who the winner is. Exactly my point. But seams like they don't take their words seriously enough.

@ajareselde:
Surely you see that what you're proposing would only lead to unanswerable accusations of manipulation. As has been said above, dadice was doing an investigation and could bring the site back online at any moment. If they wanted to wait one more day or one less day and this was going to affect the outcome of the contest, surely you see how that means they can directly pick the winners. On the other hand, if you deduct the downtime then the contest proceeds exactly as if there is no downtime.
Try this, restate the contest another way. Instead of saying "tell me the date of the 750millionth roll", what if they had said "tell me the number of 24 hour periods of playtime it will take to hit the 750millionth roll". I think most people would agree that under normal circumstances those two contests would be functionally equivalent but the latter one would be much more tedious to play. But in spirit, they are the same thing. The idea of the contest was to predict how much playtime would pass. Clearly if the site is down, no playtime is elapsing.
Anyway, we can understand that you wish you won (I wish I had one too). But your idea that they should go by the calendar date and not take anything else into consideration is a little short-sited, I think, given the fact that that would essentially mean that dadice could look at the list of particpants and choose the winner by hand.
On the other hand, I will say this, contests like this are supposed to be fun and enjoyable and promote the site. I think if I were dadice I would have probably just doubled the prize money (pay both the downtime deducted winners and the calendar winners). I would have done this because it would have been an opportunity to change a bad vibe (lots of downtime) into a good vibe (extra winners). However, I don't think they would do this now because clearly they can't just start paying people for making a fuss.
Anyway, I think if you look carefully at the matter you'll see that short of paying everyone, what they chose to do was the best option. Maybe you'll have good karma from this and win a contest soon, ajareselde.
Cheers!

LOL, your argument is something like : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152981.msg12145466#msg12145466 only far less credible. Im funny to see someone so desperate to win that 0.1 bitcoin. Downtime deducted would be fair. As I already said, it is quite unfair to deny the person who predicted the correct date. Da Dice has control over when the site can be up, so the concept of fairness would require that Da Dice should deduct the downtime. It is pretty obvious. Also explains why he waited for the winner to be announced before making the point. If he wanted it to be handled properly he should have done so when it was announced. His points lose all credibility by now. You really can't expect someone to think it all out, consider all possible scenarios, however unlikely that may be, for conducting a simple contest. Am sure, it would be too bulky that none of you would bother to read it. Do you want the OP of a contest thread to be something like the Privacy Policy of Google I am pretty sure that if Da Dice haven't done so, you would be arguing against. I feel I shouldn't have argued against you two. Tired of stating obvious things. Wouldn't bother to do it again.

I hope your are aware that you are calling respected members of this community a shill !!! Look who won the prediction. Secondly, it was here in this very thread discussed with the community, as well as in our chat what we will do. It was the call of the community to deduct the downtime - not my decision. From a business point of view we would have saved money if we've declared the 24th the correct date. It's funny to see dice site desperate not to pay up.
And you must have missed, that we have indeed paid 0.1 each to three individuals for their correct prediction. Check the blockchain, it is all there, among them a Hero member from bitcointalk: boopy265420 whom Quickseller calls a shill !!!

They are not maniplating anything with the downtime, if there is no downtime then the roll will still be that day and they still deduct the hour of downtime so that there is no manipulation . If they dont deduct the downtime then there is manipulation but they did it

Even if there is downtime, they deduct the downtime so there is no manipulation like some people accuse, they can only do a manipulation if they dont deduct the downtime and the downtime is because some hack so it is normal

If you think of every possible scenario, as I said, it will end up looking like the Terms and Conditions ot Privacy policy of a major company. If that is the case, all sites holding contest around here might need to hire someone just to write things up. Usually when contests are held, at least around here, there are too many conditions that are left unsaid where it neither possible nor faesible to account for everything. It is always left for a reasonable and fair interpretation if complications do arise. For instance, all contests can remove or disqualify a participant or entry if he/she is found to be abusing the contest, even if such is not explicitly stated in the OP. Just my opinion.

Meteor Shower A fresh new way to look at 'Bitcoin Rains'!Remember we have another exciting and generously rewarding feature! Every hour meteors will shower up to 5 active participants with as much as 0.0001 BTC per winner. All you need to do is have a 'hang out' with your friends and other DaDice players in our chat and you could be one of next possible winners. This is whole new concept of 'Bitcoin Rains', as the rewards for up to 5 possible winners are guaranteed (funded by DaDice itself), and is fairly based on their chat activities. There is an algorithm in place to keep checks and weigh the quality of messages being exchanged. Q: Will I get my reward if I go offline? Yes, Meteors shower users based on their chat activity during last hour. If you were one of possible winners, you will still be rewarded even after you have went offline. Q: Do I need to make any contribution to be eligible for Meteor Showers? No, Meteor Shower account is funded by Da Dice and there is no need for our users to make any contributions. Q: Am I still qualified for Jackpot if I am tipped by Meteor Shower? Yes, receiving a reward from meteors will not affect your qualification to chase and hit our progressive Jackpot in anyway. Keep rollin and chatting! Good luck.
