Bitcoin is very much alive as demonstrated by continued adoption and venture stage investment.

I think prices are temporarily facing downward pressure because of Bitcoin XT related questions.  Once a consensus is reached about how bitcoin should be scaled, I believe the price of btc will recover.

Blockchain analysis and regulatory questions might have a bigger long term impact than the block size limit. I think we all know the blocksize limit will eventually need to be raised. The question should be when and by how much.

Regulations cannot kill bitcoin but they will impact where bitcoin companies choose to incorporate or do business. Blockchain analysis will bring more attention to privacy questions.

i don't know what it means for a cryptocurrency to die, but imo as long as btc is worth anything even $0.01, its alive. all that matters is that the currency in being used, the value of the currency is not that significant.

Bitcoin is alive since the price grow from $0.03 to around $50 per bitcoin.

Only shutting down the internet is only way to make bitcoin dead. When our Sun fades away we need to shift out of earth, at that time also people will carry a the source code of bitcoin to the new planet.

Maybe Ethereum or Expanse will overtake Bitcoin in the future. So, we will be seeing the next Bitcoin in a few years. If none of this happens, Bitcoin will prevail. Just my opinion.

Now it is quite decently established his name but some other similar online currency come up with better features and if that one accepted world wide then it may loose its strength otherwise it will continue but not sure about what will be price.

Price fall is not the meaning of dead of bitcoin. Bitcoin is the future. Price fall is common for all traded commodity. Use the price fall in right way if you believe in bitcoin else regret when bitcoin booms...

There is already a better technology out, yet it still hasnt died. It has a charm by being the first crypto. People wont abandon it so easily, it's like your firstborn child. Would you abandon it for another child?

Monero has a great innovation in terms of anonymity.

Bytecoin has better security and faster and more efficient network than bitcoin in all terms.

NXT, BURST, NEM, HZ, COUNTERPARTY has a whole economy,stock market,marketplace & more integrated in a decentralized fashion.

Bytecoin also has a huge premise of coins 80% of all BCN to be in existence.

Monero at least appeared to have a fair launch.

all altcoin, monero also, only include a small feature that differentiate them from bitcoin, they are still clone and nothing more

every features they have can be integrated easily in bitcoin, i don't see innovation as it was with bitcoin

You do realize that the Monero code base is completely different than that of Bitcoin? Using ring signatures, stealth addresses producing untraceability and unlinkability.

Can't do that with Bitcoin as far as I am aware. Bitcoin has a public blockchain as well that you can trace.

And NO...those features can't be integrated EASILY into bitcoin.

The Bitcoin core developers can't even agree on a SINGLE line of code to change (i.e. the block size) and you think they can add cryptonote into the bitcoin source that would allow it to operate like Monero?

Bitcoin has been experiencing very lows these days and it seems to me that it's going to take some time while it begins to rise up again to its full glory. I sure wish that the block size issue gets improved, that way it could be one step closer for mainstream adoption. In my opinion, Bitcoin is still not dead but it is sleeping waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
