In 2015, faucets are bad for bitcoin

When the halving happens and btc doubles (which we all hope will happen) then
faucets as long as you save the btc could end up being valuable. I do the easy
ones while at work. I mean hey I am waiting for a call or have down time I may
as well get some BTC.  Even if its pennies now it could be quarters later.

very good point! people keep underestimating faucets, faucets have been a big help with bitcoin.
even if faucets only give a very little amount, that amount can still be usefull if youre saving it.

But Faucets are better than investing in Mining equipment and mining BTC, because there is no ROI. But we can get something from Faucets.

If there was no profit in mining no one would mine and obviously that's not the case. Faucets are in no way better than mining, you can do it for free, yes but the profit from faucets is so small you will not even notice it.

But there are some people exploiting faucet site by having some trick to get more satoshis.. They can getting more bitcoin by doing this continously

I doubt it, there is no way to do that unless you have a bot or you pay to get captchas solved, you end up not profiting in that case anyways. The bots or captcha solvers cost more than what you get from the faucet. If there were people doing that almost all faucets would die.

Faucets for low currency countries have some values. Plus this faucet can make one person be a starter for bitcoin. That is why skne gambling sites have faucets so that starters can practice on how it will work. Same with other fahcets. having some satoshis will make them more hooked in bitcoin.

I totally agree with you even with small amount of bitcoin some people tend to use faucet because it is easy and free, you just need to be very patient with it and I salute your friends for such dedication toward faucets!

The only issue I have with faucets is that the dust produced really only contributes to increased tx sizes and increased tx costs, you hardly earn anything remotely usable so it's really rather useless from a financial perspective. That being said, it's a good way of introducing people to Bitcoin so they understand the basic premises of Bitcoin movement between parties. Personally though, I'd like to think that Bitcoin advances to a point where faucets are no longer necessary - much like how you don't give people money because they don't understand how it works.

Pretty much all of the new people that start hitting faucets gave up and quit very soon after when they see that it's just a waste of time.

But yes, for the new people they are very important in my opinion. To get some dust and learn how to send transactions is essential if we want to attract some new Bitcoin users in the space.

Yes I have learn something about Bitcoin thru faucets, but is just pain in the ass everytime clicking. So I just stop doing it and doing some other things to earn more bitcoins.

It's not bad for Bitcoin at all. People who don't like to invest their time in farming faucets for a very low reward must simply stop with faucet farming and stop complaining about them. Faucets are fun for newbies to test out how to send and receive transactions, etc. It's helpful and fun for newbies. Especially for people that live in third world countries. For them faucets are an extra bit of income.

It's up to you mate, I've to do this a month ago, but I've to solve the captcha by myself.. I'm using Imacros for the bot. So far i know that you can get free credit for using bot that can solve capchas for free..

The amount of Bitcoin that faucets give away however is incredibly minuscule and doesnt have much affect. And it's not like faucets actually create bitcoins, they are existent already, from the owner of the faucet. Giving people small amounts of bitcoin through faucets I believe helps in adaptation as well.

The only thing that make faucet bad lately is so many faucet owners make it serious business. It should not be like that, faucet owners should just spread the coins to common people on bitcoin to give a try own a bitcoin.

bot for faucets do not cost too much, i was going to make one by hiring a programmer(sadly i'm not able to code one in php) and he was asking very low amount around 0.1-0.15

but a bot like that can earn you at least 0.01 per day if there are enough good faucets, it's worth a try
