Thanks for the clarification on distribuition of shares. Seen 163,962 + 236,038 = 400,000.

40/60% split with Bitfountain having controlling interest.

So more than twice the power efficiency of the closest competitor? Wow!

Now I can buy 1.2TH machine with 28nm Bitmine A1 chips for the price of 4800$, so depends of their prices...

What's the power rating on one of those?

I don't really get the implications of this.

I love AM translations &_&
But let us bake cats in a mining machine in particularly inside a small baked cat strong mining machine using third-generation 40nm chip lol

Man I love these translations at times though XD

Quite high Sad

System specifications
    Power consumption: 1 Watt/GH
PSU: 2 x High Performance 750W Power Supply

Hope AsicMiner will be much better with lower consumption...  Huh

Have they announced who is going to distribute their products for the US?

Will likely be many places. AM said they would only sell small batches of working miners and mostly focus on chip sales. So we will probably see a bunch of miners using their chips.

For the small batches I have no idea how they will be distributed. They seem to just randomly pop up. The cube was first seen on wtcr.ca and taobao so who knows.

Needless to say my summary is going to be a bit late, other things got in the way and I underestimated the task of going through all the information available.  Going through friedcat's posts chronologically has however lead me to understand an interesting story about how he got to where he was, first just looking at and evaluating mining bonds, to offering a kind of mining security comprised of different assets listed on GLBSE to then finally starting up his own company with some friends.  Obviously there is more to it then that, but if anyone is bored I would highly encourage reading some old posts and seeing this story unfold for yourself.

Awaiting your summary, looking forward to it! Yeah, friedcat's posts are interesting, unfortunately there's fewer and fewer material coming up the last months.

Sounds like he has a lot of irons in the fire. I'm sure when there's something significant to report it will be reported. Until then there's probably no merit other than pacifying the rest of us.

It would be beneficial to have a synopsis of how we arrived at this point for sure.

TL;DR he is solid trustworthy

I don't think anyone here who has held shares would disagree but this isn't about that. IPO investors who entrusted him with 500 BTC (~$5000 at the time) for a board seat (5000 shares) are now millionaires, go back and read that for yourselves. However, the question that many people here (speculators and soon-to-be shareholders) are wondering:

Q: Is it more profitable to

1) just hold BTC
2) spend BTC to buy mining gear that is "ahead of the curve"
3) spend BTC to buy shares in mining company that develops and sells their own hardware

It is highly recommended that those who decide to partake in any of these options to do your research, or you will just give away your BTC.
