Why is Destroying Bitcoins inherently bad? From both an economic standpoint I don't see how that is necessarily a bad thing, unless you are saying that whoever makes the PT on Counterparty has to use their own money.
Logically if this will be used method of buying securities in bitcoin-space(i highly doubt), soon we'll have USD/XCP exchange in place and John completely skip Bitcoins, and just buy XCP on exchange and then buy AM1 with them, fucking over whole Bitcoin If BTC is that fragile then we have many many many other problems to overcome. Counterparty allows for trading directly from BTC to any counterparty asset. For instance, if ASICMINER is a Counterparty asset, you can have a BTC/ASICMINER market. No need to go through XCP first. Counterparty is open source and non-profit, with a self-funded, volunteer core team. We modeled the effort after Bitcoin and Linux itself, and we feel our founding ethos is the most in line with Satoshi's out of the various 2.0 project out there. Plus, we were the first with a fully functional decentralized exchange, and our technology is the most mature, and has been audited by several security professionals. We'd love the opportunity to demo or trial the tech with ASICMINER, or at a minimum, jump on the phone or Skype and discuss things further. Any ASICMINER personnel should feel free to reach out to us at dev@counterparty.co.

Like you mentioned you are the first decentralized exchange that actually works. Keep up the great work. Personally I think its a value add to Bitcoin.

If FC says yes to any distributed exchanges is better than the current situation at this point, although, it should support trading against BTC directly. So nxt, msc fall off the table, leaving us xcp and colorcoin.

why on god's earth do we want to bother FC right now with this exchange site?
havelock is robust enough that there is literally no reason for FC to even consider a new platform, especially when he's in the middle of a product cycle like gen3.

Havelock is a horrible option if compared against a counterparty asset run by FC himself.

because it sure wastes him and us more time to ping pong pm/email to transfer shares. FC does not like rent seekers that eventually screw, or he would give all the shares to havelock to manage. Personally I don't see havelock last more than 3 years. Distributed exchange lasts forever, although things might not be as quick as centralized one.

As everybody seems to be pimping next gen exchanges, i'll suggest open transactions might merit consideration.

I think, that our Panamanian Havelock is preparing for final run. We as community addressed several security concerns to them months ago, like locked withdrawal address, pgp encrypted mails, fixed time period between change of settings, they always tell you that they care, but true is they don't care, nothing changed. Better to have counterparty or coloredcoins than this ready to run away centralized fog

So it's been 8 days and my direct shares haven't been transferred. How does this normally work? Is there a place I can submit a support ticket or something? I'm beginning to get a little impatient...

...said your magic ball? Havelock stated this themselves but if you really think about it why throw away a good thing when they're making money on the daily? It's a well established exchange

same here Yea same as well, it's been about a week for me. havelock is only growing. TBH, I would see ASICMINER going down before Havelock. Havelock has better margins than AM, not to mention they are taking over nearly their entire marketshare where AM will only slip. Im also waiting on shares, and I want to transfer mine to havelock as soon as I get them
