Franchised mining
can you elaborate? I also don't see a franchise in it - I franchise out a portion of one of my businesses, on the basis that the business name draws more business towards the franchise, for this, my franchisee pays me a franchise fee once every ten years - for it to be a franchise, I get paid - albeit payments for the franchising of my business are far and wide, but.. i get paid. whoever are supplying the chips, are not getting paid, so - this is what you see as a franchise? strange. It could be the old 80/20 franchised mining model AM did in the past. AM has a lot of chips, they can produce very cheaply. If they provide a certain amount of chips or blades to DataTank for free, they could receive e.g. a certain amount of hashing power from them (mining income). now i'd very much appreciate an update (if not a confirmation) by FC or a trustable board member on this. edit: or maybe for the next round of questions? edit edit: or just skip it all and get some unexpected divs?

Cracked the case: 7) What is the status of self mining? What is the rollout schedule for the data centers?
8 ) What is the status of franchising partners? When can we expect to see income from them?
We will report the more detailed status to the board first. The short answer is that deploying and financing is easy while getting cheap electricity and proper device solution takes time. When we have farms running we can update the related information with real time hash rate.

When we have farms running we can update the related information with real time hash rate. + Progress Update 23 Jun 2014:
Here is a first progress update since the original announcement of DataTank Mining last week.
• We are in discussion with a manufacturer to provide ASIC hardware in return for DataTank capacity. This is an unexpected turn of events, but it may prove to be a very important development with the potential to (a) reduce the need to finance chips and outlay required at the time of deployment, and (b) to speed up the production pipeline earlier than expected. We have agreed not to post details before a consensus is reached. (hence no communication from FC) How this affects existing and future DTMA holders will remain to be seen when we have results. • We have also received inquires for exclusive partnerships from two different known parties in the mining space, and at least one of them is seriously considered at the moment. (helloooo AM!)
Several questions have been raised in regards to the choice of locations. (AM and datatank both working on electricity and location matters) We would like to comment as follows:
• DataTank Mining is not fixed on a specific location (such as the USA) and can deploy in parallel if required, even internationally (minimum requirement for DataTank Mining systems is power feed and internet, deployment of containers can be indoors or outdoors).
• Next to pure electricity prices, consideration is given to other factors such as long term (and political) stability, unrestricted trade and access for staff and also local resources and talented personnel available.
too soon?!

maybe but AM and Datatank have been collaborating for a while now. things are just getting alined perfectly. chips are out, boards are following, IPOs blossoming... bitcoin eclipse to come!

Yeah but Datatank used the word unexpected AM was expected. Spon was not. You've just made that clear. it was unexpected for datatank to become a franchisee. thats all. pls read again: We are in discussion with a manufacturer to provide ASIC hardware in return for DataTank capacity. Could DataTank host other miners as well, in theory? As long as we're speculating, Hashfast would be both possible and unexpected. They're sitting on a lot of inventory and next to zero capital, so a deal like this would seem right up their alley. Not sure how the bankruptcy proceedings might affect/obstruct that sort of thing, though.

I believe we should at least prepare for that new manufacturer being someone other than AM. In their initial statement they wrote: Due to our past experience with ASICMiner, we are committed to using ASICMiner hardware for our own capacity, until we see a reason not to.
They're talking about some new mysterious player. This either means that they'll be switching to another chips provider, an additional one who just wants to host something, or someone supplying them with boards using AM chips (best case). I wouldn't bet on that, though. But keep in mind that this is in no way a dealbreaker for AM, in my opinion.

Due to our past experience with ASICMiner, we are committed to using ASICMiner hardware for our own capacity, until we see a reason not to. DataTank systems are compatible with any hardware, including with chips from Spondoolies Tech, InnoSilicon, Hashra, HashFast, GridSeed, Cointerra, Butterfly Labs, Bitfury, Alcheminer, Avalon, ASICminer and more. Bitcoin,
A reason: Better offer? Chips in exchange for Immersion Tanks, which seems to be what Data Tank wants. Does FC want these Immersion Tanks, don't they already have a relationship with DT/AC with some other prior arrangement. I think this deal with DT and AM might have been worked out way before now if it was actually between AM and DT. Not now (Notice, that Spondoolies just went over to the conference.) They probably spoke a little with DT and made a better deal.

LMAO you people just never cant stop being such downers if it was not for your precious little divs. Spondo or hashfast (wtf do they still exist?!) are not playing in the same court. Really do you reckon they would have enough chips to franchise a huge project such as datatank? I mean look at their container's capacity.. AM had prepared their scaling up for the past year, skipping gen 2 etc... FC has been planning it all. He wouldnt have took the decision to scale up without networking and doing a proper industry evaluation. AM was there first and hasnt died so far. In fact, they have produced more than 60Ph lately (and in just couple of batches!). There is just no time for the 5 or 10% public investors cuddling. You just dont get it, it is all going on smoothly. But it takes time! GG to FC and AM team for their long vision business! Soon enough, spondo & all those bundlers maniacs will be out of the game.

Soon enough, spondo & all those bundlers sellers will be out of the game. I'm not saying it isn't AM. You are just saying that it can only be AM, which is definitely not true. They even explicitly state that they are in talks with multiple companies. "AM has prepared their scaling up for the last year, skipping gen 2 etc... FC has been planning it all. He wouldnt have took the decision to scale up without networking and doing a proper industry evaluation". I am not going to try and debate this, but do understand that there is a contradiction in your post and DataTank. DataTank, again has an unexpected change of plans, hint: unexpected. Yet "FC has been planning it all." Doesn't really add up. I admit, he has been talking to AC and it is a good probability that AM and AC/DT go into this group together. I'm just saying that it's not set in stone.

Plus, we, as AM investors, never dared speculating about that. But now that they have, it is crystal clear that FC put a spell on them, with a very honest deal.
