So, I basically want to re-stake my bitcoin address.

I've done it, but it's also exactly what an account buyer/hacker would do.

I feel like doing it with a seed that's on my SafePal will make me feel like a fresh new person!

The point of staking an address is that you don't feel like a fresh new person....

Is the process any different now that I'm using metal as the medium to keep record of my seed?
The seed generated on my Ledger is the one I'm engraving into the SafePal?

None of this matters: you sign a message from a staked address, and you keep the private key secure. That's all there is to it, and it's all we as forum users get to see.

There's no need to redo it if it's still secure. If you do it, I'd link to the older one, and sign with both. Make it obvious you still control both addresses when you sign the new one.

So I just realized during troubleshooting the ledger that I destroyed the seed for the wallet I originally staked.

You've staked 3 different addresses, both SegWit and native. Those are unlikely to be produced by the same wallet, so you may still have one of them.

Electrum is giving me the option to extend my 12 word seed that it's giving me. Can I make up 12 more words and press enter then that 24 words is my seed?

Yes. But why? The extension is supposed to be something you can remember.

I am not sure why anyone would share any of their seedwords - even if the wallet is empty.. .. but you are using this kind of a seemingly sloppy (and unnecessary) revelation as potentially to show that you are going to be able to identify yourself to be the same person as you were earlier (in terms of being in control of the keys of a wallet that you decided to gratuitously give 10 of the words..

So you are saying that you have all 24 words, but you decided to share 10 of them and their exact location, so now you have 14 words that no one knows, and yeah, that is probably still close to impossible to brute force without getting some more clues.

Another thing.. photos of our seed words should not be taken.. Think about it... if somehow the unedited version of that photo were to leak.. yeah. .you are saying that the wallet is empty.. but you still seem to be engaging in a sloppy practice to be taking pictures of your seed words.. My understanding is that seed words should be kept in analogue format.. but I will say that there are some things that some folks might do digitally, but could be discovered down the road. in order to figure out private keys... or maybe parts held digitally and other parts held in analogue so they have to all be combined.. so I am not claiming to know all of the answers, but just surprised that anyone would share any of his seed words when that would not even be necessary... because you could just say that you found your seed words... or that you found 10 out of 24 of your seedwords, or whatever the claim that you are making is.

What exactly are you trying to do? If your seed phrase is from a wallet you previously used to stake an address, then yes, you can use that seed phrase again to import the wallet into a new/old device or software and you'll have your old addresses available again. This is exactly the purpose of the backup seed phrase.  What part are you finding confusing?

I don't get it.... This topic is meant to post an address, and forget about it because if all goes well, you'll never need it. You seem to be missing the basics: how am I supposed to know if the (incomplete) seed words you posted belong to the address you staked?

If you want to sign a message with bitcoin address, it is not just that you will provide your bitcoin address, you will need a wallet that will sign the message for you. The wallet has the private key of your address, go to sign/verify message on the wallet, you will write your message, paste your address and click on sign which will generate a digital signature for you. You will copy and post your address, message and the signature on this thread for someone to verify it for you.

You can use Electrum, Sparrow or Bluewallet to sign the message. If you still do not understand how to do it, let us know the wallet that you want to use for the message signing and we can give your a short guide about message signing pertaining to the wallet that you are using.
