It's the whole point of staking a bitcoin address here. So that you can prove that you are the owner of the account by signing a message using your private key otherwise people are not just going to believe words minus proof.

You should be extra careful when storing private keys or mnemonic phrase even if they are of addresses used to just prove ownership of your account.

Do everything you can and look for the private key of the address you staked

Tried electrum and yeah, can't verify it either. But it can be verified using Mycelium in Mobile App. But let me still see what's wrong.

Yeah. I'm being so much careful on my all my addresses. But if you are one of those countries affected by massive floods you'll get so annoyed especially when your PC, phones or anything that stores such information for you are drowned along by hundreds of lives that was lost!

I'm so sorry I forgot to back up most of my data on my computer that was ruined because of that calamity.

Haha, this is made for to increase the security of your account, in case you can't log in anymore and you have no access to your email which you used to register here, and there are many cases like this, not only hacking but email providers disappearing as well, signing a message from the address that you stake here can actually gain access to your account. This is the safest way to secure your account if you keep your private keys private.

Not sure if you are trolling or you are serious, anyway signing from an address doesn't cost anything and you don't need to have a positive balance on that address to provide a valide signature from it.
