It's better not to sign a message without a date. The same signed message can be used again in the future, and it will still get verified.

I see, that is a problem, also people is some lazy to search for previous signatures  .

I know that is not common, i just search for his address and it is not indexed on google.

Should we add some rule to not quote signed messges without date?

It is not a big deal. This thread is mainly for staking addresses. We do signature as we can understand that we would be able to do the same later. Just for checking purposes, nothing else. And we must add something unique eg: a date, or any specific thing mentioned by the desired person for the verification. For example, if want to take a loan then the lender may ask to add the amount of the loan and so on.

You never have a guarantee that the account hasn't been hijacked, the previous address can only be used as proof that it has been hijacked after the fact.  If the owner does not retain the keys to that address or fails to sign a message alerting of a hijack, then it will go unproven or unnoticed.

   No I cannot prove that it hasn't been hijacked at all. Those addy from the past were on other wallets that I have not used in many years and god only knows where they are in my systems or storage. I have created this new one with a newly reset Trezor that I am dedicated striclty for this post after I was asked the same question that you have just posted.

   So the only way to know that I am who I say I am is to let time pass and follow my usual movements on the collectables section that I have been doing for years. Other than that, you have no reason to trust me at all. Cheers
