I have no idea about the NBA draft so I will put my hopes to your words that it's 90% certain that we will have three QBs in the first five picks. Rikafip has No to that question
Its not NBA draft, it's NFL Cheesy.

But yeah, I think you might profit from my laziness and not actually checking the odds/predictions on that question.
102  Economy / Reputation / Re: Nuburian - ban evasion on: April 24, 2024, 08:07:49 PM
Word "гypaм" is not common word in russian language. This is a proper name, besides, in our locale only this troll uses it, addressing the user "Goran_" as his bosom buddy
Still, I doubt that will be enough for his ban simply because we have examples of known ban evaders creating multiple accounts throughout the years but their alts have never been banned because there was no proof like use of the same address, which is usually the best proof you can provide.

For example, this case of a known anti bitcoin troll who shows up every once in a while, creates few topics and troll as long as people are interested in his bullshit. Rinse and repeat.
103  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 24, 2024, 07:59:47 PM
@Rikafip, thanks for the update this is what I have been waiting for a while to find the current status of Indian local board since merit source announced that he withdrew from his position and there's no surprise the numbers went quite low. Indian board started to rise from bottom since last year June but now back to where it's started.
Maybe its time for someone else from your local board to apply for a merit source status?

Here is the updated race!!
Cheers, overview has been updated with your animated race.

Well, the Turkish local board guys are not stopping.  Shocked
That makes it difficult.
True, it makes it much easier to have those kind of numbers when Turkish board is 2x more active than Portuguese.
104  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: April 24, 2024, 03:32:16 PM
His departure is one of biggest factors that reports drop a lot recent months but I feel with AI waves, there will be more reports in coming months but I don't expect spikes like Ratimov's effects.
Even if he stayed I don't think that report numbers would be much bigger since big chunk of his reports (not only his though) were made for posts that were several years old and it became pointless to report those posts after change in how mods/admins handle those kind of reports (which was a good move imho).
105  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 24, 2024, 02:29:56 PM
Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local board activity, and this time few days earlier than usual. Charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space which I suggest to check if you want more in depth overview of your (or any other) local board.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards, with the hope that changes in the future.

Post activity per local board during March 2024

During the previous month, 20804 posts were made across 18 local boards/communities that are part of this overview, which is a decent increase (~8%) compared to the month before. The Russian board remained the most active one despite the decrease, while a few other very active boards like Turkish and Nigerian had an increase, which then resulted in a somewhat higher number of posts overall.

Unfortunately, the numbers for the Romanian, Greek, and Polish boards remained pretty similar to the previous months, while the Bengali numbers also keep going down month after month. I do hope they reverse this trend as it will get harder for them to get local board if numbers keep going down.

Local boards post race

Courtesy of bitmover

Active members per local board during March 2024

In the last month, 1553 members wrote at least 1 post in one of the local boards, which makes it an increase compared to February numbers (~5%). Increase makes sense, as there was an increase in the amount of posts as well. As with posts, Russian board has by far the most active members, but Nigerian, Indonesian and German numbers are pretty good as well. On the bottom, we have the same names as in posts chart and I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Local board members per amount of posts during March 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, Indian board is leader, with 52% of such members, followed by Romanian (46%) and Spanish (45%). At the same time, Portuguese had only 16% of such members, followed by Pakistan and Croatian local boards that both had 17%.

In the 2-9 posts bracket, Polish and Greek boards are leader with exactly 50% of those members, followed by Russian local board that had 44%. When it comes to the lowest percentage in that bracket, Pakistan is leader with 23%, followed by Indian (31%) and Arabic (32%) local boards.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Pakistan is leader with a huge 60%, followed by Indonesian (44%) and Portuguese (42%) local boards. At the same time, Benagli had only 16% of such members, while Polish and Indian local boards at 17% are not much better either.

Merit shared per local board during March 2024

When I saw the increase in the number of posts, I hoped the same thing happened with merit as well, and indeed it did; during March, 7058 merits were shared across local boards that are part of the overview, which is a very noticeable ~14% increase compared to February's numbers (6180). This happened mainly due to an increase in the Russian, German, and Spanish local boards. I am especially surprised by the former numbers as they lost one of the big merit sources some time ago, but I guess they got a replacement.

At the bottom, it's occupied by the usual suspects, with the Greek board appearing again on this chart. In the previous month, they didn't share any merit at all, so you can say that they had a 100% increase. Cheesy"

Merit/Post ratio per local board during March 2024

Once again Spanish local board is at the top of the merit/post chart, ands this time with even bigger ratio, followed once again by Arabic board while French end up at (for them) unusually high 3rd spot. With only 1 merit shared, no wonder that Greek board is dead last, while Pilipinas is once again close to the bottom with also pretty low merit/post ratio.

One thing that is noticeable is that majority of boards have higher 12 monnth ratio than of the last month which is a not a good sign imho, and its been like that for some time now.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during March 2024

Since there was a pretty big increase in the amount of merit shared, no wonder that same thing happened with number of merit senders and receivers; during March 525 sent merit while 629 received which is an increase compared to February numbers (503/566).

One thing that is interesting on this chart is that Russian board is not the leader when it comes to merit senders despite sending x3-x4 more merit than sone of the local boards like Nigerian and Indonesian that beat them in that metric.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during March 2024

Last month's average across 18 local boards was 17.1% of posts that received merit, which is very similar to the period before (17.3%). Once again, the Spanish local board has the highest percentage of merited posts, with the Romanian board once again in second place, and this time, the Arabic board ends up in the top 3 with a pretty high 30%.

Considering the fact that only 1 post in the Greek local board received merit, it's no wonder that they are dead last in this metric as well. However, Indian, Pilipinas (and even Turkish) are not much better either

Merit per transaction across local boards during March 2024

And the last in this series of charts, merit per transaction. Despite having a pretty low merit/post ratio and generally low amount of merited posts, Indian local board is the leader in this category with very high 2.5 merit per transaction, leaving Spanish and French local boards behind that both had 2.3 merit per transaction.

The most active members per local board during March 2024

Last but not the least, list of top 10 most active members across 18 local boards, that are most responsible for keeping their boards alive. Once again mandown from Turkish local board is the most active local members, and this time followed by 2 more members of the same board while the name we used to see at the top (joker_josue) this time ended as 4th most active local board members. Kudos guys and keep up!

106  Other / Meta / Re: Post per day/ per month falling. on: April 23, 2024, 08:13:30 PM
That is true, but I think we lost some quality members in last few years and that affected activity and number of posts in our local board.
However, there are few new members that appeared also like SirJohn, Luno-something and few others that contribute more with quality than quantity.
True, any local board would feel loosing few core members, let alone local board of our size but luckily few more appeared that are helping us keeping decent activity.

Speaking of activity, I am just finishing monthly overview of the local boards activity (It should be released tomorrow) and you will be glad to hear that our numbers for the last month are the best in the last year or so.  Wink

I expect a QB will be the 1st pick again, but 3 of them in the top 5? Tricky...
Another trick question.  Wink

Out of curiosity I just checked few mockup drafts and all of them predict 3 QB in top 3 so I guess chances that 3 end up in top 5 are pretty solid. If I actually took some time to research I would have answered "Yes" but of course I didn't and went with my gut feeling and answered "No".  Cheesy

Avoid referring the forum to friends and even family who we know have tendencies to become scammers, have affiliations with any known scammer, etc.
And how exactly do you know that people we refer to have tendeinces to become scammers? You are basing that assumpion on what exactly?

This has to be one of the weirdest "advices" I have seen around here in quite some time.  Roll Eyes

He is a famous hyper-troll tor676 in local board, the vocabulary of which has long been studied by everyone
Since I don't speak Russian i can't really check your findings, but I do know about these cases is that forum staff usually needs a little bit better evidence that similar vocabulary/posting style in order to ban those who are ban evading with alt accounts. Unfortunately.

There is a hard cap on the amount they need and that's 20 btc. (not per user, it is a site-wide limit) So they are spending 3btc every year to pay investors.
Yeah that kind of cap makes it more feasible to actually be able to sustain that 15% return for longer period of time.

Do you think they can't afford to pay it?
I don't now, but I am not willing to risk my bitcoin in order to find out.  Grin

So, after entebah wrote his post above, I finally realized who my next opponent is. And it's none other than Rikafip.

I hope it will be an interesting game with a lot of different answers.
Likewise. I am in a pretty solid form at the moment but as we know (and as seen in the recent Coventry-ManUtd game) cup games can be tricky.

.
What is debatable is what this staking is for, because the investors' funds do not participate in the casino bankroll, the profit does not depend on the winnings, and there is also no risk in the case of large winnings of the user.
Logical question then is from where that 15% comes from? I surely hope they are not doing anything risky with pepple's money.

I mean, I know that freebitco has been around for many years, but much bigger players couldn't sustain even smaller returns so that's why this 15% seems to good to be true.

Recently I am considering to invest some in Blackjack.fun since their interest rate is 15%.
Dunno, 15% apy seems kinda too high to me to be sustainable for a longer period of time and too be good to be true. And you know how things that sound too good to be true usually end in crypto.
115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Question] In Regards to using translators on local boards on: April 20, 2024, 08:21:22 PM
Can one use a translator to grasp what is being discussed in a thread where you where quoted or mentioned?
Of course you can. After all, how can someone even know whether you are using translation tool?

Perhaps I know using translators to comment on other local boards is frowned upon or is prohibited
It really depends on each local board stance, and the way you are using it. If for example you are constantly active in a local board of the lannguage you do not understand with the help of translation tool, you can expect to have issues. But if you are only ocassionaly leaving a comment or two (usually after being mentioned), I don't think that you will have any issues. I personally visit other local boards from time to time, and never had any issues.

But it's pretty obvious that it will be hard to avoid relegation.
If that happens, I hope I'll meet you there.  Wink

Even though, getting promoted to Division 2 won't be that easy since only the winners of 3A and 3B get direct promotions while other 4 have to go through playoff. But at least it looks like I'll stay at the first position as if I am not mistaken, my opponent this round can't reach me anymore.

118  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 20, 2024, 06:02:56 PM
Rikafip, Have you been reporting yours too? Tongue
I have, in my local board. We have a thread dedicated to that, and I did until I reached 1k merit. After that I stopped as it didn't make sense to take away from those who need merit more than I did.

I believe most boards should have a few dedicated merit sources so the members who make posts in those boards may get some merits. Like most local boards have dedicated merit sources who send merits to the helpful posts at those local boards.
Those who feel that certain board where they like to write is undermitedcan always make a merit source application.

I am interested to know how much was the locked bitcoin amount? Please don't say it's 1 or 1/2 mBTC :-D
You guesstimate might actually not be that off, as I see that Binance offers measly ~0.3% apy on bitcoin.

Having said that, I just don't understand why would anyone with their right mind risk holding their bitcoin for such a low return. I mean, I could somewhat understand if we were talking about 5-10% (even though that is very risky too), but 0.3%??
120  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 20, 2024, 06:10:02 AM
However,  in technical discussion, most merit sources merit the posts/threads, but most of the merits are often given to the ones who already have more than 1000 merits. Only a few newbies or low rank members get merits from those boards.
That's simply because most of the quality posts are written by Legendary memnbers, and not because people don't want to merit lower rank member's posts. And situation is pretty much similar on the frst of the forum because there is a lack of quality new members.

However, if someone who has deep knowledge about trading, and that person may not get required merits for the posts/thread then that's somewhat unfair.
There are plenty of merit giveaway threads where anyone can report posts he belives deserve more merit.

I believe a good solution would be to appoint merit sources for that board so they could merit the valuable posts/threads.
Just because merit/post ratio on a certain board is low, doesn't mean that automatically needs a dedicated merit source as you have to take into consideration quality of discussion as well.
