701  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Bitspincasino scam? on: November 02, 2023, 09:44:54 PM
I withdrew my money after 3 days. It was terrible experience. You need to contact with support a lot of time to withdraw your money. I dont recommend this casino.
Good to hear that you managed to get your money out after a few days of waiting and I am sure that it hasn't been a pleasant experience at all.

Since issue has been sorted, you should update the topic title saying that issue has been resolved and lock the topic in order to avoid unnecessary spam.
702  Other / Meta / Re: Image ban or tagging, is it possible? on: November 02, 2023, 05:38:05 PM
Nope, I’m afraid this isn’t sufficient evidence. Since this incident occurred outside of Bitcointalk, it’s challenging to confirm the identity of the person on the other end. Furthermore, the image was not initially posted on Bitcointalk.
If you checked the topic, you would see that member in question even admitted that he took someone else's image and presented it as his own. Also, it doesn't matter from where it was taken as if you copy text from outside of bitcointalk you will still get banned so this argument is not valid.

I am sorry to the Bicoin Community and to the Coaster89 from which I took the artwork and posted it on BitcoinTalk without thinking about the consequences. The reason I posted the artwork is because I was eager to earn Merit.

What I’m trying to convey is that if the original image originated from Bitcointalk and someone shared that image here on Burocintalk, and then another individual copied and reposted it on Bitcointalk, that would indeed constitute clear-cut plagiarism.
Even if someone did that, it still won't get banned. Here is the direct answer from mprep, plagiarism rule doesn't apply to images, no matter the source.

33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.[e] - Does this rule apply to images?
Quote from: mprep
AFAIK no, it doesn't apply to images.
Quote from: icopress
Thank you, can I quote you?
Quote from: mprep
Feel free.

I don’t understand why moderators won’t consider it plagiarism?
I agree, it dooesn't make sense and I don't think that we ever got an explanation for that exception.
703  Other / Meta / Re: Is it just me? Bitcointalk slow!!! on: November 02, 2023, 05:15:28 PM
AFAIK, there is no relation to the location and slow loading of bitcointalk
Are you sure about that? I am asking because I remember that when bitcointalk had some issues recrntly, some people had way more issues than the others so there might be some difference depending from where you are.

so probably OP is having issues with the internet connection.
He said that other sites and apps are working normally and the only issue he has is with bitcointalk.
704  Other / Meta / Re: Image ban or tagging, is it possible? on: November 02, 2023, 05:10:49 PM
Yes, you can be banned if it's proven that you have plagiarized.
Nope, you won't get banned on bitcointalk for image plagiarism even if its proven that you took image from someone else and presented it as your own.

For example of something like that, take a look at this case from few years ago when I exposed someone who took someone else's image and explicitly presented it as his own in order to fish some merit. Even though it was proved that it wasn't his image (I contacetd the original creator who confirmed me that) and he even admitted plagiarism, mods did nothing and all he got were few tags.
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 05:01:19 PM
Not long ago, I heard a famous cryptocurrency expert in Korea on YouTube.
Don't listen to those YouTube "cryptocurrency experts" as their sole role on YT is to shill shitcoins, (hence why they say that its too late to invest in bitcoin) and especially don't listen them when they try to predict future bitcoin price.

He said, "Bitcoin investment seems to be late, to be honest. I'm sad, too. I think 2018 was the last chance for ordinary people."
Days when you could become millionaire by investing few hundreds of dollars in bitcoin are (most likely) gone, but that still doesn't mean that its too late to invest in bitcoin. Imho, as long as bitcoin keeps beating inflation (which he is doing with no problem), its definitely worth it to invest instead holding fiat that losses value constantly.

Back in late 2013/early 2014 I also thought that I was too late since BTC price was ~$1k so instead buying 0.1-0.2 BTC I bought shitcoins for a couple of hundreds of dollars. Luckily, a bit later I realized my mistake and that I am far from too late and started buying bitcoin instead. So, don't make the same mistake I did.

706  Other / Meta / Re: Is it just me? Bitcointalk slow!!! on: November 02, 2023, 04:52:55 PM
No issues here whatsoever, bitcointalk working preety smoothly on both mobile phone and PC. By the way, using Mozilla on both of those devices and located in Europe so your location might be the issue.
707  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will it affect you in any way if Binance completely shuts down ? on: November 02, 2023, 04:50:52 PM
Will it affect you in any way if Binance completely shuts down ?
Not anymore. Since my Binance Visa debit card is expiring in a few months and Binance didn't find another card partner I withdraw everything i had there (which was not much btw) so no, I personally won't be affected much.

I know there will be lot of devastating affects on crypto market of this incidence like bitcoin price will fall very sharply.
Drop will be significant indeed, but only in the short-middle term. Bitcoin price would eventually recover and everything would be back to normal, like it happened in the past.

Many users will also loose funds and some will loose faith on crypto.
Some will maybe losse fait in crypto, but you would have to be very ignorant to loose "faith" in bitcoin just because you trusted some centralzied entity to store your money, going directly against everything bitcoin stands for.
708  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Jesmo li pronašli Fxsurfera& Antikvarka? on: November 02, 2023, 04:41:15 PM
709  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: November 01, 2023, 10:35:09 PM
I'm looking at an interesting pattern here.

User:
LUCKMCFLY

Is included in spammer blacklist:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4440941.0
Has a rating left in his profile since 2021-04-07 by actmyname.

If you go look at his latest posts he has been posting with the exact same pattern for a looong time.

Two VERY large paragraphs, without breaks, usually as a response to other users. This clearly seems fishy at first glance.

Now if you take it a step further and actually examine his posts with some AI detection tools, unsurprisingly...
How many different tools you used to try detect it whether he used AI to write those posts, as one is usually not enough and can give you a false positive results.

I am asking because if those posts that you shared are made with AI, this guy used the shittiest chatbot I've seen so far.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Simple Reason Why Bitcoin is not Money on: November 01, 2023, 10:26:28 PM
It either the ops lack the requisite knowledge about what he is putting up here and there or he is deliberately doing so to gain attention, but either of the two is not a good approach for the ops, bitcoin vs money or Bitcoin is money regardless of which one comes first makesake no difference.
OP is a troll and ban evader who is exploiting the fact that forum stuff is not easy on banning so he can continue with his little scheme of showing up few times per year with a new account, spreading his nonsense and enjoying the attention he gets every time.

What people here don't understand is that it's pointless to try have any kind of serious conversation because he is not interested in that at all.

Grin

I am still waiting for someone to address my argument
All your arguments were addressed numerous times before and every time you come back with yet another alt sharing the same old stuff. What I don't understand is how are you not bored with it and do you really believe that you will change anyone's opinion here?

It's hilariously funny to watch this show.
I do agree that its funny to watch this show but not for the reasons you might think.  Cheesy
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: November 01, 2023, 03:26:25 PM
Hopefully there’s another chance for them and an exception this time, it’s so simple to submit the answers, even if you don’t much knowledge about other sports like cricket other other football Leagues. Maybe those who didn’t submit didn’t notice the new round start and deadline.
Tbh, I don't think that Trofo and cryptofrka should make an exception in this case. Rules were clear so all of us that were slacking should bare the consequences and might even be a good lesson for the future.

Its not easy to run something like this so its better to make things as simple as possible.
714  Economy / Reputation / Re: Advertised services and participants in a paid sig campaign on: October 31, 2023, 09:47:31 PM
This is one of the only circumstances where a hypocrisy is valid thing to say, if signatures are personal endorsements...but I don't believe that they are.
Whether signatures are personal endorsement or not doesn't really matter because by wearing a signature you are getting paid for spreading the awareness about something you think is extremely damaging/negative etc and that's what makes you a hypocrite.

But if it makes it easier for you to rationalise your stance and wear the gambling signature, be my guest.
715  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: October 31, 2023, 08:07:26 PM
If you going to that Webpage you will find a lot of services they offer there.

an introductory text and 5 supporting comments $100
Oh lol, they are really scamming their clients if they managed to sell those one liner shitposters made by brand new accounts for that price. There is some poetic justice there, scammers scamming dodgy projects that choose this type of "marketing technique".

I dont know if they should be tagged or not , but i just wanted to make a list of the Accounts that spamming on the Topics that pelimies make and made.
While I was maintaning list of ANN threads that are using bumping services I used to leave negative feedback to accounts that were part of that shilling group but eventually I got bored of that whack a mole game as people behind them just used new accounts once current ones were tagged. Imho, better approach is to report those posts and in expalantion write that they are part if paid shilling group which should be enough for ban/nuke.
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your one memory related to Bitcoin that you want to forget? on: October 31, 2023, 07:35:29 PM
I have a bad memory about bitcoin, but as a matter of fact i don't want to forget it because it tought me a valuable lesson how to store my bitcoin propely.

So, back in late 2017 (just a few days before Christmas) I fell for a phishing attempt and lost almost everything I had at the moment (it was ~0.1 BTC which for some may not be much but at that point it was a lot for me). When that happened I almost have up on bitcoin all together but after few days I managed to calm myself down and luckily continue my bitcoin journey.

What this experience thought me was that I should use proper wallet to store my bitcoin (read hardware wallet) instead of a shitty online wallet that I used up until then so in a way it was a blessing in disguise as it coul;d have hapepned to me later when I had more bitcoin.
717  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do members switch campaigns always? on: October 31, 2023, 06:51:28 PM
Even if there is a merit source there, I still wouldn't expect impressive results when you consider how many posts that board generates and how much of that is complete nonsense. If that person had 100 merits to allocate, they would probably still suffer finding enough good posts in any given month.
You are right, quality of discussion is really low and altcoin lovers found other places to discuss. Then again, if there are more merit sources present there maybe people would put more effort into their posts while now they know that no one really cares so they don't bother.

Altcoin board is in such a big mess that lack of merit sources is least of its worries, imho.

Oh for fuck sake. Its been a while since I forgot to submit my answers and like the last  time I blame my wife again for giving me chores and making me forget. Anyway, congrats to ILuckyGuyI for an easy win.  Tongue
719  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: October 31, 2023, 06:35:39 PM
pelimies probably pays for activity on his topic ( $CHIMPZ A SAFE HAVEN FOR DARING RISK TAKERS READY FOR THE NEXT MOON LAUNCH). (Or he does it himself...)
Looks more like he is doing that by himself rather than hiring one of those shilling services because they usually use older accounts with some priot activity of like in case of the most known shilleers 'Vitor Services", accounts created years ago with no activity.

Either way, you should just report those accounts for paid spam and they will be most likely nuked.
720  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why do members switch campaigns always? on: October 30, 2023, 08:49:21 PM
But 0.05 merits/post is a really bad ratio, it seems to be worse than I thought.
As a matter of fact, that 0.05 merit/post ratio is actually pretty decent for Altcoin Discussion as their total average since 2018 up until now is only 0.02. To put things into perpsective and to show how low that is, even Off Topic board has higher overall merit/post ratio (0.07) and we all know about generally poor quality of posts there.

Anyway, if you are curious about some other boards merit/post ratios, you can find them on Merit Dashboard.
