681  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: March 27, 2024, 12:42:05 PM
I tried uploading image using talkIMG after reading your post and it all went well. Maybe you just need to clear your cache and try again. Recently bitcointalk has been loading slowly. I'm not sure if it's connected to this matter. LOL
I uploaded 4-5 images like half an hour earlier and everything was working normally and then suddenly it just stopped working. And yeah, like ~10 minutes ago forum was loading slowly for me too  but it passed in a minute or two while I still can't upload images via talkimg.

Anyway, thnx.

Anyone else getting this message when trying to upload the image? Image is way below the limit so I have no idea what could cause it as I see it for the first time

683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 26, 2024, 09:10:32 PM
I hope Georgia goes through, seeing just 10 minutes of today's game brings back some horrible memories of Greek football.
So I guess you are one of those who doesn't appreciate their 2004 euro win?  Grin Call me weird, but for whatever reason I always liked their national team and the fact that they managed to achieve something like that with their very limited team.

In fact, it is a reasonably good tactic for them, but there is a big difference between the squad of 20 years ago and the squad of today. I immediately thought of Karagounis. He is one of the talents that world football has been missing for a long time. We should not forget star players like Giannakopoulos and Charisteas.
I am a big fan of that team, but I think that you are exaggarating a little bit when it comes to their qualities, especially for the last two names.  Cheesy

Either way, Greece is out and Georgia is in.
684  Other / Meta / Re: Only Bitcoin related posts are allowed in Local Languages Section? on: March 26, 2024, 08:58:21 PM
I consider it as almost meaningless to have a local board without child boards.
You are just talking nonsense. Your local board (Nigerian) doesn't have child boards so it "almost meaningless" and can you remember how it was when all conversation was inside the same thread?

True, child boards help a lot and forum staff should be more responsive in that matter (creating child boards) but I think that you just forgot how it was before you got your own local board.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 26, 2024, 07:17:24 PM
This is really like the most boring game ever.  Sad  I thought it would be a competitive game but this wasn't what I was expecting to watch. It is a big shame that there was only 1 goal attempt in total in whole 90 minutes.
Tell me that you haven't see many Greece game withiout telling me that you haven't seen many Greece games.  Cheesy

I would like to see Greece going to Euro, but not sure if they deserve it since Georgia has been playing with 10 players the whole 2nd half and they didn't manage to do much. Then again, few minutes ago they hit the bar so they were kinda unlucky.  But yeah, most likely we gonna see penalties here.

Maybe we should try with a warning, rather than a drastic punishment, we should give space to new users to learn some basic rules of behaviour on this forum.
I'm not for drastic punishment like perma ban, at least not for the first offense. Something like a short temporary ban or maybe sig ban seems like the appropriate punishment.

By the way, this guy has been on the forum since 2017 so it's hardly a new member but maybe he isn't up to speed with how use of chatbot is seen around here.

I don't understand the March madness too. But I decided to go with UConn and I hope that they can win it because I really need this point. Me and Harkorede have only three different answers so every point is really important. I just don't get why is that such a big deal in the USA. It's a college basketball if I'm not mistaken, right?
Yep, its college basketball and its really simple: 68 best teams play in a single elimination tournament until we get the champion. Can't be more straightfoward than that.

Bad day for me today. England lost (I should have known better not to trust their national team) while France losing vs Germany at the halftime.
690  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: March 23, 2024, 08:52:31 PM
His post history is showing that he was posting several times in Croatian board before, and it was mostly sharing cryptocurrency news.
Ah, so in the end he might actually speak our language, but that news he shared today really looked like its been translated by some tool. Either way, hope that he gets some sort of punishment for his  incessant use of chatbots.
691  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: March 23, 2024, 04:40:57 PM
I just noticed this shitposer on our local board, sharing some news (probably merit fishing via Google/AI translation). Since I never saw him before, I checked him out a bit and it turns out this guy has been busy today, posting bunch of posts that look like they were made with the help of AI and below is just one example.

Creating a vault using the existing Bitcoin protocol without relying on covenants is indeed a challenging task, but it's possible to implement some protective measures using multisignature (multisig) wallets and time-locked transactions. Below is simplified approach for additional security!

Multisignature Wallet: Set up a multisig wallet that requires multiple signatures (e.g., two out of three) to authorize transactions. This means that even if one set of keys is compromised, the attacker would still need access to the other set of keys to spend funds from the wallet.

Time-Locked Transactions: Implement time-locked transactions to add an extra layer of security. Time-locked transactions can only be spent after a certain period has elapsed. By setting a delay on outgoing transactions, you give yourself time to react in case of a security breach.

Emergency Recovery Transactions: Prepare emergency recovery transactions as your "countermeasures." These are additional signed transactions that you keep securely stored in a separate location, such as a safety deposit box or with a trusted friend or family member. These emergency recovery transactions can be used to reclaim your funds in case of a compromise or loss of access to your primary keys.

Regular Monitoring: Regularly monitor the activity in your wallet for any unauthorized transactions or suspicious activity. Set up alerts or notifications to notify you of any unusual behavior.

Education and Awareness: Educate yourself and others about best practices for securing Bitcoin wallets, including the importance of storing private keys securely and being vigilant against phishing attacks and malware.

It's important to note that while these measures can enhance the security of your Bitcoin holdings, they are not foolproof, and there is always some level of risk involved. Additionally, implementing these measures may require a certain level of technical expertise, so it's essential to thoroughly understand the process and seek assistance if needed. Overall, by combining multisig wallets, time-locked transactions, emergency recovery transactions, regular monitoring, and education, you can create a more resilient and secure Bitcoin storage solution without relying on covenants.

692  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is poloniex safe? on: March 23, 2024, 10:00:17 AM
I saw some of you asking why i chose poloniex, i have an account with them already since few years ago and is verified, that's the main reason.
I also have something in my wallet there
Even if you are satisfied with Poloniex in these few years that you have been using them, you shouldn't store your crypto there. Keep in mind that that old saying "not your keys not your money" no matter the exchange and you should be fine.

By the way, I don't know if anyone noticed but for some reason Poloniex is not on the list of exchange on CMC/Coingecko. I mean, you can find it manually if you type their name in the search bar but for some reason its not on the list, or at least I can't find it.

Damn I dont really understand how the grading in basketball works but oh well I guess I still have a chance with Partizan
Yeah it gets complicated when there's many teams with the same score like it is now so here is a c/p as I am too bored to sum it up myself.  Tongue

Quote
The ranking will be established based on the victories obtained in the games played only among them.
If the tie persists among some, but not all, of the teams, the ranking of the teams still tied will be determined by again taking into account the victories in the games played only among them and repeating this same procedure until the tie is entirely resolved.
If the tie still persists, the ranking will be determined by the goal difference in favor and against in the games played only among the teams still tied.
Suppose the tie fails to be resolved through the previous procedures. In that case, the tie will be broken by taking into account all the games played in the current phase of the competition, firstly by using the goal difference, secondly by the greatest number of points scored, and lastly, if necessary, by the goal average.
If the tie is partially resolved with more than two teams remaining tied, the entire procedure will be applied again, beginning with the first step.
If the tie is partially resolved so that only two teams remain tied, the entire procedure will be applied again, beginning with step one.

Luck is going to play a major part in the basket question
You need some luck in other questions too. This round I was lucky as first Slovenia scored that 3rd goal in 92 minute (when my opponent chose under 2.5). then Milano beat Fenerbahce by 1 point, making them ending up 10th and getting me to 4-2 lead. Its still not over though as out of the last 4 questions we answered differently in 3 so there is still a chance for Dittoup to beat me.

695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA vs Smart DCA, what do you choose? on: March 22, 2024, 03:57:24 PM
Isn't the reason why people choose DCA sonthey don't have to follow the market on the regular basis, obsess over the price while trying to time the market? So I don't see why someone who goes for that option would switch to "smart DCA" as it goes against the most important reasons why they are investing that way in he first place.

I will look a little bit more into it, but I don't think that is worth the hassle. At least not for those like me who don't want to having to check what's going on the market.
696  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX terminates services in India, asks users to withdraw funds by April 30 on: March 22, 2024, 03:40:44 PM

We are going to see more exchanges that will follow OKX soon.
We didn't have to wait long for more news as Bybit app has been removed from Apple App store for Indian users so I woulnd't be surprised if they get out of Indian market in the near future.

Its never boring for crypto enthusiasts from India.  Tongue
697  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is poloniex safe? on: March 22, 2024, 03:32:12 PM
I saw in some comments some people dissapointed or saying poloniex is scam, what do you think?

You will find comments like that for basically any centralized exchange (even the most popular ones like Coinbase and Binance ) so that's that.

Having said that, Poloinex is a decent choice if you are in need of CEX, but that of course doesn't mean that you should trust them with large amounts of money, or use it to store your crypto.
698  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: March 21, 2024, 03:54:38 PM

699  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp withdrawal delays, failure to execute withdrawals, Bitstamp failing? on: March 21, 2024, 03:44:01 PM
That's the reason why we don't want to withdraw such huge amounts in just one withdrawals because the most thing we hear from doing so is that we'll just get something like this. And if exchanges like Bitstamp or any other wants to remove this thought from the community, they should do better and provide better assistance and experience when someone withdraws big.
I doubt that OP didn't try to withdrew smaller amount, and he probably got the same result. I would like to hear though whether he tried to convert fiat to bitcoin and then send it that way to other exchange, as some people suggested.

Although there's not a single centralized exchange without scam accusations, I think Bitstamp can't be categorized with the likes of YoBit.
I totally agree. I know some people that are using Bitstamp from the very early days and they never had any issues whatsoever so I am really surprised that OP has such issues. Then again, we have no idea what's going on behind and maybe he is not telling us the whole story.
700  Other / Meta / Re: Should speculation about satoshi's identity be subject to doxxing rules? on: March 21, 2024, 03:35:46 PM
And if he thought that he would be in danger, then he shouldn't have created a Bitcoin.
Why do you think he went to such length to hide his identity?

Absolutely everyone wants to know who is Satoshi and that's a fair question.
That's not true as I definitely don't want to know he actually is and I am sure that there are many more who think the same. One of the advantages bitcoin has over other cryptocurrencies is that we don;'t know the idenitty of the creator, meaning one less vector of attack on bitcoin.

Satoshi didn't create anything wrong or illegal, so why should he be in danger even if his full name and photo becomes available? By the way, no one can obtain that, he is probably dead, only god knows.
You remind me of the people who say that only those who are doing something wrong should care about their own privacy.
