101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 09, 2021, 11:25:08 AM
I don't understand what it means about Frontcourt and the Backcourt of both conferences. Based on this site, Alex Caruso has a million votes in Backcourt of the Western Conference which is really surprising since he has more votes than other players that are also doing well in the season. He's not being talked about that much but this proves how great of a player he is if these votes are accurate.
Well, i can understand a little bit, but frontcourt players are considered to be the big players, example SF, PF and C. And backcourt are the smaller players, SG and PG.

I confess, Caruso had these millions of votes because he is very beloved to the fans and also because he is a "meme player", because sometimes someone makes fun of him or something like that.
Caruso has improved a lot lately, and I believe he can improve even more.

Here's the definition of front court players and back court players so you will not be confuse.

https://www.sportsrec.com/8338357/what-is-the-difference-between-the-frontcourt-the-backcourt-in-basketball

Quote
Frontcourt Positions
The small forward, power forward and center are collectively designated as a basketball team’s frontcourt. Typically, these players play near the baseline, which is the out-of-bounds line under each basket. On offense, these players constantly move from one side of the key to the other in an attempt to free themselves to take an open shot. When used in relation to these players, the term frontcourt usually refers to their offensive responsibilities, but also carries implications to the players they defend.

Quote
Backcourt Positions
A point guard and shooting guard are collectively referred to as a basketball team’s backcourt and are commonly the players that advance the ball into the side of the court on which their team is attempting to score. The shooting guard is typically responsible for scoring the most points between the two guards, while the point guard is expected to create plays by passing the ball to open players, such as the forwards and center. Usually, these responsibilities vary based upon the type of defense the opposing team uses and on the strengths and weaknesses of particular opposing players.

Thanks for that but should they really use this in an all-star game? I mean they could just let the people choose the players they wanted. Their roles or positions don't even matter as they would just adjust and do things for the watcher or the supporters to enjoy the game. Well, winning is different of course since both teams want to win.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice games on: February 07, 2021, 11:34:48 PM
I don't call it as a strategy, it is a betting system. And I agree that this doesn't increase your chances of winning because as long as you will bet your money in luck-based games, the higher probability that you will lose that money. In these kinds of games, you don't hope to earn profit, you just need to enjoy it because getting serious with it might be your downfall.
Gambling is for entertainment but majority of people who do tend nor have planned to play does have the common mindset which is to make money or profits.
In result they are trying out their best to do all such strategies and believing that it should really work for them to take advantage. They would only realize the
truth when they do experience it out for themselves.People wont never learn unless they would really be put up on a very hard situation in life in terms of finances.
Dice games does have lots of strategy that you can apply on but doesnt mean that these things will help you to make your rich. This is just prolonging the game
on where you can enjoy it on but people do exert or believe it too much into the wrong extent.

Most of these strategies are not even prolonging the game or your bets. Just think about Martingale that could make you lose your money in a short period of time. In short. most of these strategies are here not just because they wanted to prolong their games but they actually are trying to increase their chances to get more profit than normal bets.

104  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal cryptocurrency trading volume beyond expectations on: February 07, 2021, 10:51:37 PM
It is true that Paypal might be bringing a lot of investors into the market but people should realize that Paypal owns the bitcoin they are "buying". As they've said, there is no decentralization in Paypal, and I think we can say that they might try to overrun the market with their volumes to manipulate the people and the market as well.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Baba Vanga's Prediction for bull market in 2021 on: February 07, 2021, 10:22:45 PM
I don't believe in these predictions but we could make something out of that numbers. I don't know about 5, maybe 50K? or something but 100 might tell us something about the price of bitcoin since we're all aiming for that price mark for a long time. That many zeros might be the denomination of Bitcoin still, I think it is better to do our own analysis and predictions.
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin go up to $1000k? on: February 07, 2021, 10:17:01 PM
Well, it is possible, as they've said, the only question left is when. The price of bitcoin can quickly increase and we might be surprised if we will be reaching the price at $50K or even $70K in the near future or maybe this year. We never know what will happen but I'll tell you what, I think we have a higher chance of breaking the ATH this year, again, and we might've a chance to hit $100K.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man arrested in Germany keeps $60 Million dollars in Bitcoin from the police on: February 07, 2021, 04:08:11 PM
"Maybe he doesn't know", the prosecutor says  Grin. Without the password, they won't be opening that over 1700 bitcoins, and why would they want to open it in the first place? They already knew the amount, that is enough, right? It seems they have another plan about it knowing for a fact that the price of bitcoin increased massively over the past month.
Why the prosecutor confident saying this word?

If both of them did not know the password, I guess there is no chance to open that wallet and it will belong to the other bitcoin asset that lost and did not have access and stuck forever on the wallet. But who knows, if one of them lied and already know the wallet password and someday there is a huge moving of bitcoin that using mixer service.

The scammer deserved of being jailed and I think the bitcoin that has been scammed also deserves to return for those who had victims.

Obviously, the scammer knows the password of that wallet. The reason he is a scammer, you know what I mean? No doubt, the scammer needed to be jailed, he did a crime but if that scammer doesn't say the password, he can't use that wallet even the prosecutor, and can't return the bitcoins in that wallet. Another thing is that if that scammer has a back-up, that is HIS bitcoin.

Can you please mention which games are there that you play and are dependent on player skills rather than luck?
I really cannot find any such games out there.

Yes, the provably fair system at least ensures the house edge is actually what is mentioned unlike some slot machines where the whole system is rigged and no way to determine house edge.

Sports betting? There are a lot of games where you can bet that is hugely based on your knowledge and skill as you can make adjustments on your bets based on your analysis of that team or player. If the other player won, I don't think that is luck since every player has their own time of day when their performance is so well. Those are the games I am talking about.

Why talk of sports betting? The discussion here is all about casino games. Sports betting is not a casino game. I think it is not even a game.

There are casino games which are not really 100% dependent on luck. The likes of dice games, slots, etc are luck-based while games such as blackjack, texas hold em, etc are not 100% dependent on luck because you've got to play your cards. So you can maneuver against stronger cards if you have the skills.

Well, he's asking about a game that is not dependent on luck and dependent on a player's skill that is why I brought that up. Poker and Blackjack is also one of those games that don't depend on luck if you want to focus on casino games but still, let's be real, it may be a skill-based game but you also have that times that you need to rely on your luck.

I haven't tried gambling with cards with other people I only do it with my relatives or close friends,
But there are really some strategy and tricks that could work when you are playing cards like poker face to deceive others and card counting could also work on some games but only few could do it.

Well, you don't need to do it since you are just playing with your close friends and your relatives. As card counting is effective to use, the problem is that it is so hard to do and obviously, it is banned in casinos. Bluffing on the other hand can be done by a lot of people and be successful depending on how they use it.
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going cross $40k again? on: February 06, 2021, 11:20:29 PM
The price just hit $40K today just after Elon Musk tweeted #Bitcoin. I think it will take some time before it will hit over $50K, with a lot of investors waiting for the chance to reinvest, we might be able to experience some small price dumps. If you see the price lower than $32K or $33K, I think it would be profitable if you invested at it.
112  Economy / Economics / Re: All world banks need bitcoin now big solution on: February 06, 2021, 10:25:59 PM
Let's stop hoping that these banks would be using bitcoin as a "solution" because we all know it won't happen considering most of them don't trust bitcoin. Whats probable though is that these banks using the technology behind bitcoin to develop their system for faster transfer and making it secure.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 06, 2021, 10:19:53 PM
Is bitcoin a private crypto currency? I think this are those altcoins created by projects led by people that might disrupt their future digital currency. I hope they would be educated about crypto currencies and I hope the best result for our users in this fight. If they could just learn and understand what it is.

116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: May-Pac 2, will it finally happen? on: February 06, 2021, 03:03:40 PM
There's a lot of challengers to Pacquiao's greatness fairly recently, and I don't think Mayweather offered the rematch like he was genuinely ready to battle the Pacman in the ring again. It's just so odd that the rematch was offered when McGregor and Ryan Garcia are trying to get Manny for a fight. Having said that, if ever Pac's side agreed for the rematch, Floyd may cancel the fight, or express disinterest on reasons he might come up with in the near future. He doesn't want to be in the same ring against Pacquiao who's damn sure wanting to get his ass kicked inside the ring, given that he just ran around when they first boxed.

I kinda like this rematch to happen, but I don't think Floyd's heart is full into this.

Well, his heart is into his record. He's been accepting exhibition matches and I think he would not be accepting the rematch against Manny Pacquiao as the other boxers that wanted a rematch against him. We may be able to see Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring but I don't think it would be against Manny Pacquiao but to some celebrity, he can knockout so easily.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 06, 2021, 01:22:33 PM
Kevin Durant just got pulled out of the Nets game for the health and safety protocol after playing the first half. Not a good sign for the players on the floor with him. This has a Rudy Gobert smell to it. We could be seeing these two teams unable to play for a couple weeks if Durant did indeed test positive.

Some articles said that he won't be able to travel because of the contract tracing that is happening. I hope this won't be the same as Rudy Gobert. He didn't just pull out once, he was pulled out in a game twice. He was tested three times and still negative, the team needs him. In terms of the protocols of NBA, since he is a close contact, did he not follow protocols of the league?
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is why btc will die as a crypto on: February 06, 2021, 12:58:28 PM
Well, just because fees are high doesn't mean that the currency is going to die! Plus, the fee in your pic is 0.07..mBtc and not BTC. It's around $1 (at time of your pic) so there's nothing to worry about. The benefits that Bitcoin and crypto provide far outweighs the small fee we pay for transactions.

This problem with the transaction fees still is the problem of the past but here in our country, we don't have a problem with it since we are usually using the same bitcoin wallet/exchange which gives us free transaction fees and their transaction speed is almost instantaneous. I agree that it will not die just because of the fees, we all know it will never die.
119  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bitcoin Help The Poor on: February 06, 2021, 11:40:56 AM
Bitcoin can help the poor if those poor people are willing to learn about bitcoin and adopt it. Bitcoin is just easy to use and can really help the poor people if there is someone who educate them about digital currency, the importance and the use of it.

How could bitcoin help poor people just by using it? The only way the poor people could be use or have bitcoin is when other people gave them or donated them. They can't invest or buy bitcoin because they can't afford it. Other would say they need to save but what they don't understand is that they are not earning enough money to save money. Most of them don't even have a job.
Well, actually those who hold bitcoin are not poor people because they can afford to invest and also have an internet connection. I don't think that is a poor status that you meant. Perhaps those types of people are in a mid-class type of people that can afford to invest and they had a job to sustain the investment process of bitcoin. However, not all bitcoiners help bitcoin to bring up their financial status, some of them got a problem when they experienced panic selling.

That is one of the reasons why a lot of poor people where I told them about crypto currency said no or I don't know. I told them that even though they will put their money into it, it won't be a 100% profit since it will be a risk. These people are desperate to earn money, that is why I thought it could help them but I think it won't and might make them lose their money and hate me for pushing them there.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They say Bitcoin is a waste of electricity on: February 06, 2021, 11:25:53 AM
How could that be a waste? There are a lot of people wasting electricity than those mining bitcoin. In fact, there are a lot of bitcoin miners that use renewable energy such as solar energy. If they will be talking about bitcoin like that, as the OP said, how about those people taking advantage or wasting the energy and even slowly destroying the world itself.
