101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 16, 2023, 06:56:19 AM
Its quite bias that you talked to people and thats what they answered. Its best that youved asked here since many could voice out what they think.

I created the whole trend for it here where people voiced their opinions. So when I say about opinions I mean people from the trend. And my point is that the fact that Bitcoin is an asset won't allow it to become a new global currency that the majority of people would use. Because it won't be stable enough. It was my whole idea.

In my last thread, I advocated that global adoption won't happen until bitcoin is fluctuating 5% and more every week because people will afraid to use it.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 15, 2023, 07:03:34 AM
Hello everyone.

Lately, I've been talking with a lot of people on this forum and before that, I really thought that most people here treat Bitcoin as a technology that gives us freedom and represents ideas of satoshi, but I realized that everyone I talked to treat it just like an asset to invest in.

I don't want to say that it's bad, it's just surprising me. I created a thread where I asked if people think that Bitcoin will become stable enough to become a new currency cos I thought it was the whole idea, but everyone was telling me that it will always fluctuate and it's just a method to earn money.

What do you guys think about that? Do you think it's okay that we as a community treat Bitcoin as an asset and not as a technology that should be used to give people freedom from the banks?

Personally, I think that Bitcoin is a great asset, but it's strange to think that crypto just becomes a new stock market where people follow hype and money, and not technology and progress.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: May 13, 2023, 10:41:55 AM
I think that is true but the amount of newbies that is getting it will get slower, plus at least we get rid of old influencers and new ones take time to get the same influence so it gets better on that front as well.

I agree. We already see that even newbies are using different channels of information to learn about bitcoin. And it's also great to see influencers that delete their twitter accounts after all the BS they were saying turned out to be fake. Pomp is a great example. I don't know what's up with him now, but when FTX fell down he deleted everything crypto-related from his twitter profile.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: May 12, 2023, 02:56:17 PM
It is way too easy to become a "crypto influencer". What they do to become famous is very easy and has been documented many times already. First, the rent out a lamborghini, then they rent out many expensives things, clothes, a large house, and so on... All that is left is to make a video with beautiful women and tell everyone how they made an amazing amount of money in a very short amount of time with nothing but crypto. And they are more than happy to let you in on the secret, for a fee.

It does trick the desperate and the greedy people but anyone with half a brain can see through their scam.

That is why I avoid following EVERY and ANY influencer. Its all fake and scripted.

Yeeees, it's all for the show and it's crazy. There are a lot of stories about how some of these crypto influencers went bankrupt because of the crypto winter.

But still, it can't go like this forever. Considering that people are more crypto-educated now and most of their engagement is bots, they will probably get less money from the advertisement of some new shitcoin.
Overall, I see good signs of people getting smarter. Nowadays most people tend to ignore BS and we have a lot of new users on Bitcoin talk. So I think it shows that people WANT to get educated.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: May 12, 2023, 12:31:06 PM
You're right, crypto influencers live only at the expense of stupid/lazy people and bots. I think they have already started to lose their influence, as more and more people start using their brains.

But the world is still full of stupid people, so the influencers will stay with us for a long time.

I feel like this too. If you'll check Twitter now, you'll see that there are fewer people who engage with their content. Hopefully, guys will lose their scammy job soon.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: May 12, 2023, 10:43:27 AM
That's the thing...we can't simply rid of these influencers because developers will still hire them and make of their popularity to gain attention.
People will still believe especially those who are thinking about ways to become rich instantly, greedy people will tend to follow them and fall into their traps. They will never realize until such time comes that they lose $$$. Too sad but can't hide the reality because even if we spread awareness, they'll just ignore it.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. But still, if their influencers will lose their popularity, no one will pay them to promote their projects + there gonna be fewer people who will see this promotion and buy some new shitcoin.

Overal, I think this might happen at some point because people are getting more and more educated about bitcoin. Even I, when I only started buying crypto, was watching videos of people who said that doge will go to the 3$ in to days lol. But the more I learned, the more I saw that it's all just BS.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: May 12, 2023, 09:04:52 AM
Oh man, I sure as shit wish that the fall of 99% of these bitcoin or crypto "influencers" would happen and happen much sooner than later.  I am by no means a bitcoin expert. I am very far from it and have been the firs to admit that since I found bitcoin back in 2013/14...but I swear I hear these so called "experts" with shits tons of followers, I mean hundreds of thousands of followers, say some of the most ridiculous shit left and right and over and over...and yet people still follow and listen.

People are inherently stupid, and I don't see that changing anytime soon..so no, I don't think we've seen the end of these "influencers".  ( Thank god Andreas is back!)

I agree with you....but it looks like there still gonna be people that will belive them. Like other people already said in this post, it's way easier to rely on other people to make investment decisions for them.
But I hope you are right and these people will lose trust of even the stupidest people on twitter soon.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 12, 2023, 08:54:55 AM
I think it's not even about Bitcoin, but about money in general.
The best advice I heard is to never tell people how much money you have/make, because they either will consider you poorer than them or richer and in both cases, they will think of you in the worse way.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 12, 2023, 08:50:28 AM
At this point, its volatility is what makes bitcoin BTCitcoin lol
But seriously speaking, if Bitcoin is stable then there may not be a need for it. If it was stable, then might as well use fiat. Though to be fair, Bitcoin was currency first before it was an asset, an investment, something to profit from.

I agree, but my point is that I don't understand why maxis are saying that bitcoin will become "the world's new currency". No one will use it like money if it won't be stable to some extent.
So yeah, I totally agree with you.

First of all, Bitcoin is not a currency to be precise. Moreover people use Bitcoins as an asset and use it to make profits. You can take Bitcoins as gold, like in earlier days people used to trade things, like they give their golds, to get rations etc, similar thing happening with Bitcoins also. But this doesn’t make Bitcoins as currency. Moreover there are fixed amount of Bitcoins already broadcasted in the network, so this mean if people’s demand increases to acquire more Bitcoins, then the price will keep on increasing. So Bitcoins never settle at any fixed price.

But they used gold because its price was stable. Yes, it was growing over time, but it wasn't dropping like 5% in one day. So I don't think bitcoin is like a modern gold, the fluctuations are too severe.

And I don't think that Satoshi thought of bitcoin as a new asset to invest in. The idea is that you can't print bitcoin so it won't lose its value completely, but it doesn't save it from fluctuations.

110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 11, 2023, 09:51:17 AM
Bitcoin can not be a stablecoin, but they are many stable Coins or stable currencies because Bitcoin is created to make a difference in the cryptocurrency market, which has many benefits and profits attached after a short or long time investment for profits return, based on the price of purchasing.

I not saying that it should become stablecoin, but I mean It should be stable enough for more people to use it as money.

Bitcoin wasn't created exclusively as an asset in the first place, people made it an asset in the process. It was the money of freedom, the one that you can use without the banking system.
That's why I'm interested in what's gonna happen to Bitcoin next, will it become a new way or payment or it will mostly stay as an asset?

Thank you for your comment

I've always seen Bitcoin as an asset, not money. My point is that the price of BTC is unpredictable so it cannot be said that it has a stable price. I instead think that BTC is not stable in its price.
Because the price of BTC is greatly affected by how much demand there is in the market and it adheres to a basic economic law that I think we all learned in school.

Agree. That's why I don't get it when maxis are saying that soon everyone gonna pay with bitcoin for everything

111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 11, 2023, 03:16:24 AM

Bitcoin can't be stable, not now or even in the future. I really don't think it can. Inflation is what makes Bitcoin. If the price is to be stable, why then buy Bitcoin? What pairs and to what are we going to trade it? And what will be the use of Bitcoin again? Since it will then be seen as any other fiat currency out there.

In order for people to use currency, it should be stable. It's the whole point of it. Throughout history, people used different fiat currencies and most of them were chosen because of their stability. Like people won't use Bitcoin as money if they can't hold it for a week and do not risk losing their money.

I agree that bitcoin probably will always gonna be an asset, but a lot of bitcoin maxis are saying that adoption is coming and soon everyone will use bitcoin. But why regular people will even use it if it's literally safer to use USD in every day life because you know the rate of inflation and know that you won't lose 5% of your money tomorrow.

BTC's unpredictable price is also a positive attribute that Bitcoiners like. you can make money out of this inflation. but BTC may not become stable due to the cycles, when the cycles probably are over like all 21M coins are already mined, i think there will be a stability of price.

I agree, bitcoin is a great asset to invest in. But how can we achieve mass adoption when we have these fluctuations?
Even today bitcoin lost 2%.

112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of war on bitcoin on: May 11, 2023, 03:05:02 AM
I think the war surely influenced Bitcoin, but it goes down not because of the war.

Bitcoin is going down since 2021 and a lot of things happened since then. The pandemic was the hardest hit on Bitcoin and the consequences of the pandemic were a damaged economy and inflation which appeared because the government started to print money. So the economy already looked bad every before the way. But fur sure, the war has boosted inflation and damaged the world's economy even more.

But I think there is also a good thing for bitcoin. The war has shown people that banks can stop working and you will lose all their money. A lot of people started to use bitcoin to save their money, make transfers and donations to Ukraine.

Yes, but that's the problem. When you say that we can make money out of it, it means that you treat it like an asset and not like money to pay for everyday stuff. You can treat it like both, but for most people there fluctuations will be a bad sign because you can not only earn some money out of it, but also lose them due to the dip.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 10, 2023, 02:19:02 AM
I was thinking about Bitcoin as a currency a lot lately and I have some doubts about how currently we see its future.

The problem is, in order for Bitcoin to become a currency everyone will use, it should be stable. I know that you might say that people will still use it because it's not about stability, it's about freedom and technology. I agree with that, but Bitcoin needs to be stable in order for people to treat it like money, and not like an asset.

Just look at what people are saying right now, experts say that people shouldn't hold USD because inflation is just 5% a year, but imagine if you have bitcoin that can go down like 5% a day because some whales sold it. It will be problematic for people to use it on a daily basis because of that.

I know that people say that when Bitcoin will be adopted, it should become stable because there is a limited amount of it, but I don't see how it's gonna happen. From what I see people treat bitcoin as an asset to invest and hold and I can't imagine that will change in the future.

Why do you guys think Bitcoin will really become the "money of the future" and people will actually use it like one?
From what I see, I think it's possible that people in the future will still trade bitcoin or try to buy as much of it as possible to manipulate the market.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When using Bitcoin to make purchases, do you feel bad? on: May 10, 2023, 02:12:03 AM
I have the same problem. I think It's because we already got used to treating Bitcoin as an asset to invest in, not actual money to pay with.

Bitcoin is still undergoing transformations to become a new currency, so we still need some time to accept that bitcoin is not just stock to invest in, but the money of freedom that won't be controlled.

When I want to pay for something with BTC I'm thinking about its price and feel like "why am I spending it right now? It will go up and I will have more money if I will just hold it." So yeah, I have the same problem haha
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is racist on: May 08, 2023, 12:23:24 PM
It just says a lot about the political situation in the US. They literally call racist everything they don't like lol.
I think they cannot harm bitcoin themselves, so they want to use people who are triggered by every mention of racism to attack bitcoin for them. But oh well, it's just another attempt to create a bad image of bitcoin without any reason.

I think they need to use all this hate they have to HELP people through bitcoin. Some people in the US are still unbanked or suffer from inflation and bitcoin might be an answer for them.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 07, 2023, 06:23:03 AM
If you speak English, it's already enough to move abroad lol. You will have the ability to communicate with people to some extent. So I think it's not a problem.
The biggest problem is when you have a wife, kids, or old parents.

I think while you are young and capable, it will be fairly easy to move abroad for you. You just need to find a fitting job, ideally an online one, and chose the country you like and have enough money to live in.

For me, moving abroad was a life-changing decision so If you considering doing it just DO it. You always can come back.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 07, 2023, 03:41:27 AM
Good for you. It's good that you invest money right away because inflation is killing your fiat every year.
It's good that despite bitcoin being illegal in your country you still manage to buy it, that's why bitcoin is very important to us.

I hope you will make it man, good luck to you!
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I won £50 - should I use it to buy Bitcoin? on: May 05, 2023, 02:47:15 PM
I recommend using any extra money t buy bitcoin. You will buy little by little and eventually, you will have one whole bitcoin. I think it's important to start this process and don't think about how many bitcoins you are actually buying, it could be £10, £15, or £50, but it's still good.

And even if you just invest £50, you will still get some gains when bitcoin will go up. So it's a win-win situation.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin doesn't give you instant 100 percent profits on: May 05, 2023, 04:22:11 AM
Agree. I know one friend who thought that if he will buy Bitcoin he will make x10 the next day. In the end, he lost 10%, got scared, sold crypto, and said that it's a bubble and no one should buy it haha

So yeah, people who don't know what Bitcoin really is think that it's easy money.
That's why we should educate people about Bitcoin. If people will understand that in order to gain profits you should HOLD bitcoin. If more people will be just holding it, it wouldn't flactuate that much and will grow more stadily.
