1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange cryptopia www.cryptopia.co.nz/ Careful on: January 23, 2018, 03:21:23 AM
I think cryptopia is just struggling to keep up with demand for their services.

I recently wrote about the lack of exchanges out there, and how this impacts on existing exchanges and their ability to meet expectations. Have a look if you like:

1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: January 22, 2018, 11:01:08 PM
Just confirming with token lock up, that when you buy from an exchange (say, Binance since that is who you have the strongest partnership with) that you only need to buy the EXACT number of MCO for a particular card?

So if I were to buy 50 MCO tokens in preparation for getting a Ruby Card, and I got these tokens from Binance, there wouldn't be a withdrawal fee from Binance to the MCO wallet that would mean I'd have slightly less than 50 MCO tokens in the end, so would be short of the Ruby Card? Also same question for the other cards like 500 MCO card.

I doubt Binance would be responsible for the token lockup. So I'm guessing yes, you have to have exactly 50 MCO in your private wallet, and send them to an address or a smartcontract for lockup. Which means you'll have to pay withdrawal fees from whichever exchange you bought the MCO from. As well as some gas fees for the transaction.

Yeah, Monaco team is developing its own wallet, where you would need to transfer your MCO for lockup. I am sure transactions fees applies.

Hmm I figured that might be the case, but I wouldn't be too sure that Monaco isn't coming up with a workaround or solution, even just for the optics of it.

It would leave a really bad impression on users if they went to an exchange, purchased 50 MCO to get a Ruby Card, sent it to a special MCO wallet, and then get told that they have 49.9 MCO, so can't do lock up or get their card.

Given the nature of their close 'strategic parternship' with Binance, I wouldn't be surprised if they are working on a direct lock up through Binance to avoid transaction fees while also allowing Binance a one up on its competitors.

Binance already provides extra functionality for specific coins - for example providing GAS for all the NEO you hold on the exchange. No one else does that to my knowledge.

I think it would be a mistake for Monaco to make the process overly complex by making it a 50 MCO 'and a bit' token lock up.

1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷trade.io🔷[ANN] [ICO]💲31,169,749 🔷Partner Civic & Bancor🔷HitBTC & OKEx on: January 22, 2018, 03:18:12 AM
for example 2500 of my tio are locked in pool and the trade.io platform is bearing looses what will happen to my tokens?will  the amount of tokens decrease for example to 2000?

I don't think that's how it works. I think the 2500 tokens would give you 'access' to the liquidity pool, and you put your crypto/funds into the liquidity pool from there. The more trade tokens you have, the higher the share of profits (and losses I believe) that you receive.

Given 2500 tokens is the minimum to participate, it would be 'unfair' to lose a handful of those tokens if things go bad for a while in the liquidity pool, and you can no longer participate.

I believe that is roughly how it works - tokens are there to allow you to participate - but someone may have a better understanding.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BWK] BULWARK | NO ICO | Masternodes | Accelerated PoW | Seesaw PoS/MN on: January 22, 2018, 02:06:48 AM
when to the moon  Huh... the price is very sad for a coin, and the people will run away Smiley
The coin reached the bottom, сurrent price good for purchasing, soon you will see miracle and moon  Wink Smiley

Someone just dropped a bunch of bulwark all at once on cryptopia. So you might have to wait a while for the 'miracle and moon!'.

Either way, like mining bulwark on nist5 algo - I swear my mining room is less hot on this algo than equihash.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum in 5 years on: January 22, 2018, 01:30:39 AM
Someone reckons above $100,000? That is extremely unlikely, even if the overall crypto market continues to grow, there are way too many competitors that would take some of the pie. Platforms like Stratis, NEO etc are all doing similar things to Ethereum, and will pull some of the marketshare, even if they are, at a technical level, less 'useful' than Ethereum.

Also think there is a challenge for ethereum to continue its momentum when it hits POS. Given the number of ERC20 tokens, it should be fine by this point.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: January 22, 2018, 12:54:32 AM
Could someone update the bitcointalk signatures with the new logo and colours please?
We are working on this..Please be patient.

It's great that people want to put zencash as their signature blog, even without a bounty campaign attached to it. Shows how many people think zencash is a great project worth supporting just because they want to support it.

There probably aren't that many other coins where people outside of the development team put a coin's avatar and signature blog just to show show support and spread awareness.
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: List of legit Crypto Airdrops on: January 22, 2018, 12:45:24 AM
Is there any way to tell if the airdrop is scams or not? There are many airdrops sprouting daily and it is hard to tell if it is legit.

Some airdrops are asking for your private keys so if you're not mindful you easily put your private keys in the form and all your coins will be gone. Well for me, even if it's not a legit one it doesn't matter with me as we'll just getting it for free besides there's nothing to lose. Some airdrop coins have a good value in the market while some are just waiting to get soar.

Seriously? Some ask for your private keys? I'm surprised people would fall for that - it's like asking for your ATM pin, email password or mothers maiden name Wink

I think many coins that 'only' do an airdrop, and don't have an ICO, mining, bounty or some other program attached to them are worth being a little more cautious around.

Also worth keeping an eye out on the team, self moderated threads and any coins that over promise. I remember there were a couple threads that I commented on, questioning the claims of the 'developer', and sure enough my posts were deleted. Definitely wasn't interested in participating in those airdrops!
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins are really privacy and anonymous? on: January 22, 2018, 12:31:08 AM
While my technical understanding of how coins achieve privacy may be a bit light on in some areas, from my own research I think Zencash is a real privacy coin (or is at least working to become a legitimate and complete privacy coin).

Have a look at their website and blog - very active developers, with a solid background and understanding of the issues. They also have some great youtube clips to explain what they are doing and why. I think they are ahead of many competitors.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining room Cooling on: January 21, 2018, 11:21:22 PM
I remember watching a youtube clip of someone with a mini mining factory, and he said one of his greatest lessons learned was the importance of 'keeping heating off' instead of 'putting cool air on'. I guess if the cool air you're putting on is -17C from outside that might not apply quite as much.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1060 Ethereum rig on: January 21, 2018, 10:58:36 PM
Gtx 1060's do 'ok' for ethereum, but are better at equihash coins. Electricity consumption also tends to be lower so that's a plus.

Would also suggest getting Gtx 1060 6GB versions as you might struggle with the 3GB version being if you're mining ethereum due to the 'DAG' size increases.

The other advice on this forum in terms of CPU choice etc should also help. There is also an ethereum mining sub reddit on reddit that has a good guide you can check out.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: January 21, 2018, 10:45:42 PM
i see a good future of this project, goodluck and i wish this projec a big success in the near future.

Ha not sure if you clicked on the right thread, or if you're just trying to get your activity up!

Google bitconnect and choose any news article and you'll see this project is done - I'm still surprised it was in the $30usd range even after the news stories hit.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SALT Community Membership on: January 21, 2018, 10:32:49 PM
So does Salt provide funds internally, rather than users being able to lend to each other? Are the funds pegged to crypto (ie. if the market tanks, will this impact on the 'safety' of lending to other users?)
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 21, 2018, 12:35:04 AM
There are a few coins out there that 'pride' themselves on being asic resistant. Vertcoin for example. So I don't think GPU mining will die when there are popular coins out there who intend to keep GPU's as the main form of mining.

Sure profitability might drop, by don't think it will outright 'die' in 2018. Also ethereum going POS won't help with hashrate distribution.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥[EXCHANGE] Register at UPcoin.com for beta-testing and get your $500 reward🔥 on: January 20, 2018, 11:34:10 PM
So the 500 dollars is actually credit for your exchange fees, rather than $500 for buying coins or to withdraw. Is that right?

Also would be useful to have a counter so people can see if they are in the group that gets the sign up bonus.

Will upcoin have its own token? Just wondering how the $500 shows up in your new account.

Great work on the project too, we need more exchanges Smiley
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷trade.io🔷[ANN] [ICO]💲31,169,749 🔷Partner Civic & Bancor🔷HitBTC & OKEx on: January 20, 2018, 06:06:33 AM
I do not understand why TIO tokens have dropped dramatically these days.
down to break through 0.7 $ I saw at https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/trade-token/.
What happened

There were a decent number of people who got tokens as part of the bounty program (me included) who might be dumping them on the market for a quick win. It was a great bounty program! Also the broader market has kind of gone to rubbish these last few days so probably got caught up in all of that.

It has stabilised and I can't really see it dropping further on no news so would think it likely it could start picking back up if they roll out according to plan.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷trade.io🔷[ANN] [ICO]💲31,169,749 🔷Partner Civic & Bancor🔷HitBTC & OKEx on: January 20, 2018, 06:03:51 AM
Trade io are there any plans to list on other exchanges over the next couple months?

I mean, I know it probably feels a bit odd to be pursuing other exchanges, given you will be creating your own exchange very soon, but would be good to know how else we can get trade tokens, particularly if you're think of getting more for liquidity pool reasons (ie. need at least 2500 tokens to participate, but more is better).
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Pusher Coin | POW | POS | Masternodes [Update] on: January 20, 2018, 05:32:38 AM
Cool! Is the 31 jan date a further announcement date, or is that the date when we can start mining and being involved in other ways like through bounties.

Or will I have to be patient to find out as you've asked in your announcement Smiley
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: How much did you earn form Airdrop and bounty? on: January 19, 2018, 08:55:22 PM
I was recently involved in the trade io bounty. They are having issues finalising payouts but once everything comes through the sig bounty would have been worth around $200 a week at today's 'trade token' price for a full member.

I had the awesome opportunity and truly pleasure to tour CrazyDane's mining farm and have him talk about his setup -- for those interested check it out here!
