1001  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 10:29:46 PM
Are you saying that at this very moment he has no information on miners, no information from eAsic, and no information on the expected hashrate when we get up and running?

No, I'm sure there is a huge amount of info known last month, 2months ago and obviously the very latest such as chip/prototype performance which will have been coming in over the past 2 weeks.

But Ken has for whatever reason has decided to release it not in drips but in this major news release. (Well I certainly hope it is a large news release and hope it answers a lot of questions.) There may be a number of reasons for the info being withheld, we know about the NDA. I suspect there is a large degree of confidentiality involved in terms of not wanting to release sensitive info to our competitors. I know our competitors release lots of info that we haven't yet - but I think Ken is old-skool and likes to keep his hand close to his chest. He might have been advised to do so incase anything breeched the NDA. Anyway that's all speculation, we should know soon.

I'm not trying to be Ken's excuse man here, he doesn't seem willing or able to explain exactly why we've had the news blackout but he's a grown adult so hopefully he can explain that himself soon. But now that we know news is immanent I don't see much point in more speculation about the reasons for the lack of news.

But I would say it's possible there is no bad news in this upcoming news. It could all have gone swimmingly and to plan? Wishful thinking maybe.
1002  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 09:49:10 PM
That means Ken has been sitting on news for weeks and not telling us for what possible reason?

I'm sorry but I don't follow your logic. So if a business says it will publish a report in around a months time  that means they have all the details of the report already inhand, filed away, and are just sitting on it for a month?? Could it not mean that the details are not currently known and will only be known in a month?
1003  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 05:52:17 PM
That's the ideal situation yes.

But when someone comes on and demands you change the subject or are not allowed to talk about a valid topic, that is actually bad for the thread and needs to be tackled. I just tackled it.

EDIT - Talking about valuable information, would you rather read about KnC and Bitfury on here or our Avalon refund and Ken getting the best price for it?

1004  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 04:41:30 PM
All this garbage about the competition and hash rate and from a guy who demanded repeatedly a few days ago for us to stop talking about the price of BTC as it was off topic.

WTF are you all about Bargraphics?

One minute you are telling people to shut up because they are talking about BTC and it's not relevant and here you are spewing lots of stats about our competitors and predictions about hash rates?

Pot - Kettle - Black.

TAKE IT TO THE SPECULATION THREAD.
1005  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 11:32:33 AM
Another five days (including today) till the end of the month so let's hope a substantial update comes this week.
1006  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 25, 2013, 11:08:58 PM
When I first invested in this company I was aware of the potential to earn divs from mining, but actually it was the profit from hardware sales that I thought was most exciting.

So any thoughts on why this has changed?

The other aspect to it is that the sale of mining equipment gives you immediate USD funds whereas putting that machine on the farm gives you that money over a period - let's say 2 months.

As an example we could have a miner retailing at 25kUSD which cost 5k to make. An instant sale would net us 20kUSD profit giving us 10k for divs and 10k for reinvest fund. Crucially that reinvest 10k is available a short time after the miner is assembled. However if we put that machine on the farm the 10k for reinvest might not materialise for 2months. Obviously that 2month delay effects how quickly we can order more chips and miner components. In that example, if we are trying to grow the business quickly then the sale of the miner does us the best service. And ofcourse BTC could fall dramatically meaning the miner on the farm never makes payback and so we never get the 10k to reinvest.

So clearly from that I would say we need to:

SELL miners for the reinvest money
PUT MINERS ON FARM for long-term divs

We need to do both the maximise turn around time and maintain good divs.
1007  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 25, 2013, 04:43:47 PM
the shareholders are in denial that we are very much behind schedule.

Someone wanna tell this guy?
1008  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 23, 2013, 08:08:45 PM
It depends on the announcement. We dont know if Ken is thinking 500-1000 TH, or if he might go tada, and reveal a measly 5 TH. He doesn't tell us what the plan is. So who knows.

Yes that's true.

It will be interesting in that the stock won't be live when the news comes out - I would think. So there can be no news spike. This may mean prices are more stable once the new exchange opens as the BTC is mined and the company progresses. Not particularly useful for traders but an interesting side point.

btw you don't need a new BTC chart from me right now. It's all good. Price is very strong right now around the area of the last spike high. That is a very bullish sign I'd say so expect 1k very soon. This is being priced by China still I would think but with the West coming in strong soon with the Branson news. As we know '8' is a lucky number in China and the spike on the 19th was to 5888 Yuan according to BTC China. So once that is broken the next target will be 8888 Yuan - or approx 1200USD on mtGox taking into account the BTC China 'premium'.
1009  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 23, 2013, 07:18:56 PM
You can speculate the possible price movements for days but never come close to what WILL happen. Who saw 0.007 coming with the eASIC news release?? It seemed an outlandish number the day before.

I'd say good luck to anyone wishing to get out at a good price, you can't blame them realistically after the long wait. But I would say not to let the long wait effect your view on the longer picture/forecast for the company. I will be holding for the divs no matter what price goes to. If the news is good price will go up yes. But remember if news is good the divs will be very rewarding.

Who...cares everybody?

I care and so does Ken going by the very strong response he made to the blackmail threat.

It's very easy for you sitting at home to think this is not an issue and why should we care but when you run a business and you have people threatening to try to destroy your business and demanding money to cease that IS a very damaging thing. We don't benefit as shareholders from ignoring attacks, serious attacks on the company or the industry we take part in.

1011  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 23, 2013, 03:15:13 PM
What's immoral?

Sure immoral but more importantly illegal. Don't worry it's not anyone on here you need to answer to but do expect a knock on your door from the authorities.
1012  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 23, 2013, 12:54:34 PM
I've got news for you buddy. Blackmail and extortion are serious criminal offences.

The Mafia also claim to be running 'businesses' it doesn't make them free to break the law though. This looks really bad for you. You are blackmailing serious businesses which have globally recognised partners.

this guy VolcanEruptor is a trouble maker. I wouldn't trust him.

This Branson news changes everything.

The previous charts I posted are no longer valid.

Hold all BTC.
1015  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 12:10:56 AM
As per the last page of the thread I'm talking about how/when/if/why/ they are going to be converted to US Dollars.
1016  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 21, 2013, 11:43:15 PM
Ken is the CEO and he calls the shots, but I think it would be beneficial to all if we had a dialogue about how these coins are going to be used.

We know the necessary secrecy around chip development, but here is a very important aspect of the business that can be openly discussed. With all the questions (almost all unfair) around the business choices made during the last few months, I think Ken could use this opportunity to show he is clued-up and has a realistic proposal for the coins which is based on a realistic attitude to the bitcoin market.
1017  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 21, 2013, 08:09:45 PM
Its OK. Bar graphics is just letting us know what he is allowing us to discuss on the ACtM thread.

We are not allowed to talk about the Avalon refund, or how much it might be worth and what Ken might do with it/when he will convert it to USD.

Please in future everyone remember to check with Bargraphics before raising a topic to make sure it meets his approval.

Now maybe we can get back to the FUD.
1018  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 21, 2013, 05:41:56 PM
Is there a thread in the speculation forum that Ken can follow?

Not sure to be honest, I'm sure you can find a thousand views on it. I'm trying not to have a 'view' as much as just looking at the chart, seeing what has happened recently to this currency, drawn on the obvious channel lines and seeing where it could realistically go. We could say yes it could be $4000 next month but the history (chart) has to support that possibility. Right now it doesn't. Tomorrow it might.
1019  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 21, 2013, 05:28:28 PM
A fun relevant quote:

"The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent."

Let's just let this dead horse lie, Ken will do as he wants regardless of what we speculate on this thread.

1) That quote is very very well known. It is used completely out of context here so doesn't really help us - except to let us all know that you are aware of it.

2) I don't think you should be deciding when we stop talking about a particular topic - especially when it is a topic raised by another poster. If it's your own topic that would be fair enough.

3) Ken has always listened to ACtM holders on here. The company is structured as it is because he listens to his shareholders.

"Lets only sell when we have to" we have the most safest way of maximising the value of those coins.

Sure. All of my posts have been based on the notion that we do need to sell these holding within the next month or so to finance chip runs.

If we don't need to do that they may be worth more in 6months than today agreed. But that is the point I made. The last time we had a new high it took a full 6 months to get back there ($260). If we can't afford to hold these coins for up to 6months then we need to sell them at the best price in the mean time. So to see when you will get the best price you should look at the chart and at BTC developments/news. So I'm looking at the chart.
