1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 09:15:54 PM
As a fan of Inter let me say that I don't know any more worse attacker than Lukaku, holy f*ck how can you lose two sure goals with just 2 meters of distance.
Lautauro Martinez and Lukaku bottled this game for Inter Milan. Martinez first should have pass the ball to Lukaku who was at that time in a good position when he had a very good opportunity but he chose to try his luck from a very tight position which came off the goalkeeper. Lukaku is a big flop who had very good chances that a striker should score but again when he needs to be depended on, he failed.

Italian clubs loose another final after being in three this season, the Europa, the European conference league cup, and now the champions league.

Congratulations to Pep who becomes the second coach to win this after Ferguson in an English club, and most likely the first to do it in two clubs he has coached. The city of Manchester will be proud of Manchester city doing it after Manchester United.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 01:28:04 PM
I'm not sure that it will be a beautiful and interesting match. Maybe City will be lucky and can score an early goal - then we will see them an easy victory, maybe Inter will be lucky and they will keep a draw (or a minimal advantage obtained in a counterattack) until the very final whistle - then it will be a grueling struggle. In both cases, I don't see anything interesting. In any case, I do not plan to watch the game, at most I will check the text broadcast from time to time.
Hmmm, I will be uncomfortable if after expecting this game for long and finally not get to watch it. Regardless of how the game will go, maybe Manchester city will be dominant from the kickoff of the game and score an early goal leading to many other goals or if there will be struggle between both teams, or if Inter Milan will scored first and then Manchester city will have to pursue them and then score to equalise, I don't know, I just want to be entertained and I know that regardless of how the game goes there will be entertainment.

It will either be entertaining how Manchester city will win or be entertaining how Inter Milan will win.
1024  Other / Politics & Society / Re: marriage is everybody problems! on: June 10, 2023, 01:13:31 PM
I am usually against the subscription services but his is one of those moments where paying for a subscription makes more sense than buying the product. It is because in this example, the product loses its value over time. Just like FIAT. FIAT and sex partners lose their value over time unlike gold and bitcoin, which become more valuable as time goes on. Why would you want to invest in something that is going to have less worth tomorrow? It is against common sense. You should always rent these types of assets.
Some partners in marriage become more valuable with time, more valuable than they were before the marriage because  they offer more than just sexual satisfaction. But it is not common as unfortunately majority of partners have less worth tomorrow. When all what your partner can offer you is sex, then you should never have been invested and committed to marriage when of course paying for subscription and having your peace would have been the better choice. Marriage can be a problem when you do not marry rightly.
1025  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria SEC tag binance operations illegal on: June 10, 2023, 09:18:48 AM
how do think the market or Nigerian investors will react to this?
They said any investor or individual still operating with them is doing so at his/her own risk, which means that they cannot shut their operations down, and are just saying that anything wey you take your eye see, when you dey use them, say na only you know.

The major problem is that they are operating unregulated and unregistered.

The status of bitcoin has always been illegal to many Nigerians, it will not change and will not stop people in the country from using binance.

The only time Nigerians will stop binance usage is if the exchange crumbles from the top.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 10, 2023, 08:26:52 AM
is part of what we agreed when we sign up to play in casinos but lately I've been reading a lot of complaints
about casinos on how they accept their players' KYC, is it possible that they can decline a person's credentials even though he swore that he submit all the right documents and even undergo a video call to establish his identity?
It becomes suspicious that a casino will decline KYC from many people even after they submitted all documents and met all the requirements. If I am these people I will be uncomfortable with what the details and documents I have submitted be used for.

KYC verification can fail due to some reasons, like fake documents being submitted or poor lightening for video verification (for casinos that go that far), but the actions of these casino's should be to try to ensure that the user sorts the challenge and pass the verification process.

Casinos that there are too many complaints about their KYC verification should be avoided.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 02:52:28 PM
How many of us are guilty of this?
Being unable to control yourself and your gambling is the first sign of gambling addiction which is lack of self control. This behaviour is not peculiar to only gambling but all forms of addiction. The more you try and fail to stop, the more forced you are to accept your addiction and lack of self control and your new normal, a habit that you cannot break free from.

If you already are struggling to keep yourself under control and your gambling habit, but it is proving difficult and out of your hands, you can seek professional help.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend interested in investing in BTC but the friend's father does not agree on: June 09, 2023, 02:02:07 PM
I don't know what kind of suggestion I should make to my friend in such a situation. Should I ask my friend to invest in Bitcoin? Or ask to pay more attention to his job?
Be careful of the kind of advice that you give to your friend. The situation is a sensitive one and unless you want to end up being blamed for any outcome you need to be careful and at this time refrain and stop giving your friend any further advice on this situation.

Since your friend works in the government and earns well, there are other kinds of Investments that he can engage in, and you should let him know. If among the many options of investment he still chooses bitcoins and chooses the option of going against the wish of his father then that's his choice but let him do it out of his own free will and not under pressure from your advice.
1029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some possible ways to avoid phishing attacks and scams on: June 09, 2023, 12:22:15 PM
Downloading of wrong software on your devices: Most software, if not obtained from illegitimate places, has security dangers such as malware, which easily exposes the user's information to risk. If the malware is connected to any of the user's wallets, it will take the user's important details and begin sending phishing links and messages to the user. It may even steal the user's funds.
To avoid phishing, it is best to always download software from its official website.
If you do not use a personal computer, do not make the mistake of thinking that this discussion is not relevant to you. If you use a separate mobile device to store your bitcoins, you also do not need to ask anyone no matter the relationship you have with them to send you any applications from their own mobile phone even if they have what you need.

Download every application you need on that mobile phone for storing bitcoins from a trusted source.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 09, 2023, 11:56:12 AM
So I stopped counting my losses and just minimize my betting I just tried to be happy on the thought that I have good times betting and I enjoy the thrill.
Stopping to count your losses may not be so bad even though it can get depressing. Counting your losses is different from chasing your losses. I will even advice you count your losses even more often than annually or twice in a year. If you count your losses often like every month, and know how much you have lost to gambling, you can call yourself back to discipline not to spend so much to gamble the next month if you are the type that gambles without a fixed amount of money set aside for gambling particularly.

Count your losses to keep track of it, but do not chase your losses after counting. If you try to chase losses, you will most likely end up loosing more.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBDC competing with bitcoin on: June 09, 2023, 10:45:29 AM
Central Bank digital currencies was made because of hatred to be like bitcoin.
If hatred for bitcoin is the motive, the government and Central Banks are helping without them knowing, to popularize bitcoins further. CBDC's promotion will only result in constant comparison between it and bitcoins, and at all times, the unbiased will acknowledge that bitcoin is better and more beneficial.

CBDC's can deceive those who do not know so much, the people who are not very informed. For the informed like us, who understand why bitcoins were created, we know the purpose and know that CBDC's do not solve the same problems that bitcoin is addressing.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Vision Pro and its Implication in Online Gambling on: June 08, 2023, 05:49:22 PM
The Apple Vision Pro has the ability to improve gambling experience and turn some people into gambling addicts, but it is still the people who are susceptible to becoming addicts. The gambling experience will improve, but it will affect those more who are unable to control themselves. For any gambler who is strong willed and disciplined in their gambling, the Apple vision Pro will not be successful in turning them into addict's by making them go against their normal gambling habits and principles.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Self custody will always win on: June 08, 2023, 04:45:59 PM
While I continue with my reading, I notice few people hailing CZ that he is cool and that they will always trust him no matter what, some are asking if they should remove their funds from the exchange.

As you can see, too many people still entrust their Bitcoin with a guy like CZ, don't get me wrong, I am also a fan of CZ, but I will never entrust my Bitcoin or even my money in the hands on any CEX, sorry CZ if you are reading this.
Like I always say for us to be careful with trusting people and services just because of the title they answer and the position they hold, trusting that binance because of its position in the exchange industry can be a big mistake. Practice self custody, although it also has it's dangers.

Self custody can be as dangerous as entrusting your bitcoins in the hands of an exchange. It is not advisable to keep your bitcoins in an exchange and also not advisable to rush into practicing self custody without any knowledge as a newbie to cryptocurrency.

Understand how to keep your bitcoins safe with self custody before practicing it.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There A Bitcoin Exchange That Pays Most of Fees for You? on: June 08, 2023, 02:34:06 PM
Title says it all. Is there a bitcoin exchange that pays most of fees for you? For example, I want to send Bitcoin to my Electrum wallet but others want to withdraw too.
If you see an exchange that claim to pay your transaction fees for you, you should avoid it. It will most probably be a scam exchange.

If you make regular transactions with bitcoins, you should become used to these transactions fees instead of trying to avoid them even though they are high sometimes.

Seeking for exchanges without transaction fees will lead you the wrong way.

1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll management discussion on: June 08, 2023, 01:20:10 PM
What percentage of your bankroll are using as your bet size. I read an article online before that 1% to 3% is the ideal for low risk gambling while 4% to 5% for aggressive gambling. I use the aggressive type bankroll management on most of my game because I’m always bored playing with minimum bets or low percentage of my bankroll because I knew that house edge will kill me long term.
I gamble, but not so much as other people, so the ideal bankroll bet size is okay for me.

Are using a fixed percentage on your bets or you are just betting random amount? Also do you deposit your total bankroll and just withdraw if you are on target profit or stop loss or you are just depositing exact amount of money for your gambling without extra.
I do not gamble a lot, so my gambling habit is very under check. A fixed percentage is what I use for my bets, random amounts will make me spend more than I can account for. I deposit my total bankroll, to gamble with a percent of my total bankroll when I gamble. If I increase what I gamble with at one time, I reduce the number of times I gamble in that month.

1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 08, 2023, 12:05:39 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?
Remorse is a feeling that accompanies something bad that you have done. Your perception of gambling is what will determine if you will be remorseful after you have gambled or not.

How you also gamble and the money you use in gambling with determine if you will be remorseful too or not.

if it is your personal money that you have allocated for gambling you would feel no remorse but if it is some money that you have planned for some other use but could not hold yourself from the temptation of using it to gamble you will definitely feel some regret.

1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Conference League 2022/23 Season on: June 07, 2023, 07:20:12 PM
West Ham one of the most important candidates of the cup since the beginning of the tournament showed a performance that met expectations. They were undefeated in 12 Conference League matches they played since the groups and they left the field with 11 victories.
All these records will mean nothing if they cannot win Fiorentina. Amrabat is going to be a big challenge for West Ham in the midfield, he is a big figure for them that has already had an influence in the game in the first fifteen minutes of the game. The two teams are playing really well and careful not to make mistakes. This finals is going to be even more competitive that we thought it will be. Declan Rice and some other players have a chance in this game to win a title with West Ham before he goes to another club.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was shocked that my Neighbor also used bitcoin as mode of payment on: June 07, 2023, 01:22:32 PM
It's funny because at least I'm not alone in our place anymore, and I also told my neighbor that if he wants to ask a question, He can ask me anytime.
Two things;
- There are many people around you who are either into bitcoins or interested in bitcoins around you. Some people are not very open about it.

- Even though it is good that you have told your neighbour to ask you questions if he has any, it would be better if he helped him to learn how to get verified information for themselves. You may not be accessible tomorrow, so it is important he knows how to do things himself.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current Topic: African players in Europe. on: June 06, 2023, 03:20:11 PM
So I ask: where is soccer in Africa evolving?
Football in Africa and it's leagues will evolve only when corruption is reduced and Sport gets more attention in terms of allocations. Corruption has eaten deep into all sectors including the sports sector, the sporting sector has also received reduced attention. In some cases where a new government decides to pay attention to the sport sector and then disburse money for its improvement, these funds are embezzled, and nothing is done, and because it is a corrupt system,  no one is held accountable.

Also, if an African team can win a world cup, it can increase the status of African football worldwide. Jose Mourinho is one manager that has been pushing for FIFA to make a rule to prevent African players from representing other countries. That can actually help.

Quote
“I want the world to see that Africa is equal to everybody. Africa is not behind when it comes to talent. They have the talent to win any tournament but their best players are scattered around the world playing for other countries instead of their homelands.” - Jose Mourinho

Their two Fifa World Cup titles in 1998 and 2018 were dominated by African players. The likes of Zinedene Zidane (originally from Algeria), Patrick Vieira (Senegal), Claude Makelele (DR Congo) and Marcel Desailly (Ghana) are just a few of France’s heroes of 1998.

In 2018 they were at it again when Paul Pogba (Guinea), N’golo Kante (Mali), Kylian Mbappe (Cameroon) and others were instrumental in winning their second World Cup.

1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 06, 2023, 10:17:54 AM
Can anyone share their experience with betting in these other leagues and make a comparison between betting there and betting in the Champions League, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie Do not mention match fixing(it has been earlier pointed out), but talk about which is easier to win in and how much you made in comparison.
Apart friend obvious match-fixing which has earlier been pointed out, there is high competition in the EPL and other major English competition, UCL and other European competitions, La Liga and other major Spanish competitions, Seria A and other major Italian completions, Bundesliga and other major German competitions.

In countries where their local league has not yet been established due to low competitiveness and high level of predictability, games and matches will be easier to predict and win big by accumulation of many bets.
